Title: Funny dreams
Post by: CTG on June 14, 2005, 12:36:25 PM
I think it's time to open a topic like this - please tell your craziest/funny dreams especially the ones conected to Stunts (but any other types can come also). Let's start with my latest dream last night:

I suffered on an Acura track without success and got very nervous. I took an axe, get on the bus 86 (people who were at the meeting know what kind of bus is it :)). I arrived to the blocks of flats where Zak lives. I went upstairs to 8th floor but couldn't find the door of his flat. I started to hit the wall with the axe to enter the flat and steal the replays from Zak's computer. Suddenly I gave up trying and turned back - but Zak was coming up with platina blond short hair, reading a sports car cathalog. I hoped I can go down without recognizing me as he was totally busy with his cathalog but he stoped me and asked why I'm here. I couldn't find a better reason then saying I was just near to his flat looking for a bonsai tree shop around Florian Square. He sent me home because he wanted to tidy up the flat and entered the door appearing from the wall. He didn't close it and I peeped if he's really cleaning or tries to hide something. I was right: Zak put a floppy disk under the carpet using a golfclub. I entered, took the disk and run. Zak phoned the police because as I left the block of flats, two policemen catched me (one of them was Mingva). They took the disk and checked the content - but there was only a porn pic on it instead of Stunts replays...

LOL :)

Stunts dreams are really crazy. :)
This story would easily fit into the Zak mcKracken and the Alien Mindbenders adventure game :D

Let's make a Stunts-adventure game :D

What if you could switch, at will, from ambition to complacence? Restlessness comes when you are ambitious and inactive, stagnation comes when you have opportunities but are complacent. These horrible things could be wiped out. Is that a funny dream? I guess not.

I always dream that the railroads here are a river and I'm sailing on it with a small rubber boat. Then there are several new bridges and at some point I discover that this isn't really Århus, then wake up.

böff.

I had a very funny dream last night in connection with Stunts. We were racing "live stunts", as usually on wsm-s, in the following way. Mark L. Rivers constructed a very hard "live track" for us: that meant we had to run, jump through half-constructed concrete walls, climb wardrobes etc. in a half-constructed house of two floors. We also had some special tasks: finding empty beer bottles in shelves. We didn't see Mark L. Rivers there, but we - Usrin, Zak, CTG, Krys Toff and Bonzai Joe - were racing his "track". Of course the fastest time would have won - but I woke up earlier than getting to know this.  ;D

Last night I dreamed that as a new feature, Zak had bought a small area of land with some empty buildings, so that the forum could have a physical manifestation. There was a parking lot and a building for each subforum, branching off from each other. It was not built up entirely like the forum though, because some subforums could only be accessed by walking through other subforums. So I walked in there to look if some of you guys were around, but there was nobody. Not even CTG. The whole thing looked a bit worn, with worn asphalt and a lot of weeds growing along the houses. I checked back again a bit later, but still nobody there.

Nice dream! Yesterday I dreamed with Pope Francis. He wanted to read a book of mine in a ceremony.

You should be careful guys... the last guy that publicly said he had a dream was murdered

Actually I was dreaming about my successor at my former workplace. She's one of my favorite chicks. And yes, it was an erotic one. :D

Looks like I ran out of money buying the property :) Nice concept by the way! You can post by writing on the walls?

No, I think the idea was just to hang around and talk in the relevant subforum. But maybe there was something less realistic than that going on.

That would be so cool! I just imagined someone arguing with somebody else suddenly stopping, walking to a room labelled "flamewars" and continuing the argue there!!

It would be a nice physical exercise for a spammer to run from room to room.

I just woke up from dreaming about Stunts, after a fashion. It got pretty weird, as my dreams tend to do. This came off the back of whole bits about I think vacationing in Russia and for some odd reason property value, people sort of betting with houses they bought cash and us (although looking back I have no idea who the other people in my group were, but there was an us) almost stealing a car by accepting a ride from a person and forgetting to check whether they were on board. This person was a bearded lady for some reason, but I didn't notice the beard until we were in the car driving through the night rather then in the brightly lit wherever they were doing the house thing. So that sort of sets the bar here. Do not expect a coherent story from the rest of this dream.

But then came the Stunts part. It was about this month's (the in dream month, not the actual current one, if the race was even supposed to last a month, I don't think it was specified) competition (it didn't look quite like Zakstunts, but it felt like the main big competition, the screen was full of names on the board, about 30 of them.) I think CTG was mentioned or on the screen or otherwise vaguely present (or maybe that's just seeing his name on the forum while going to post this afterwards blending into the memory?), but I also think there was at least one person vaguely recognisable from my real world life there to try and give me tips by bragging about how good they were. Now that I think of it, it may have been some sort of live at a location event (before I was randomly back home again instead of at the campground or so where we got with the almost stolen car from before).

So, for this competition we had a gimmick track that had to be driven without using your legs (I don't know how that makes any sense) so "obviously" you had to remove your leg bones for this month (I have even less of an idea how that makes sense). I got myself into provisional/current first place right before the random switch in scenery to my home, and that's where the actual weird part began. I suddenly noticed my leg bones (two of them, one for each leg, and now that I think about it they didn't look particularly like any real leg bones, though I think they were based on the idea of an upper leg, because they started pretty thick or actually kind of wide at the top) looked pretty bad, and there were a bunch of insects crawling and nesting on them. So I tried to brush off the insects with my hands and took the bones inside. But one of them randomly broke even though I barely touched it. There was some stress/panic in this scene, but it wasn't anywhere near a nightmare, and if anything the bugs might have registered as worse somehow than my leg bone breaking. And I'm really not panicky about bugs or anything. So now I couldn't just put the bone back into my leg myself (I have no idea how that worked in the first place, the dream had no surgery scenes or any blood), I instead had to get this fixed by proper doctors while or just before they put them back in in a few days. So I called someone (who? I think a hospital or something...) and told them that I broken my leg. But don't panic, because I wasn't wearing it at the time. As I woke up I realized in a puff of logic that I had, in my dream, been walking around on legs that were just fine for seemingly the entire time.

The segments of dream I remember have been getting longer with the years, but this was still a pretty long segment of dream to remember, all in all, and I wanted to write it down before I forgot, and visiting the forum on my phone seemed like a logical solution. I think I may still not be quite awake. I'll be back for stuff like a spell check during the day proper. (Edit: that wasn't too bad. I barely had to fix anything.) Also, found another old dream topic here (http://forum.stunts.hu/index.php?topic=595.msg5535#msg5535). That might have actually been mentioned somewhere above already, no idea. (Edit: Doesn't look like it.)

Well, back to sleep now, hopefully. (Edit: Sleeping worked pretty well, some more weird dreams at the end, but no Stunts.)

Addendum while awake: You know how some people attach specific meaning to specific dream elements, like how anybody dreaming about a bird off paradise stuck in a bush is in for trouble in the future? I don't think that works on my dreams.

So tonight I did a lot of dreaming. There were at least one or two long bits before the stuff I'm writing down, but they were not Stunts related. (Although there were a bunch of car chases, but they weren't filmed particularly well, more focused on getting a full family of fugitives into sports cars randomly sitting around than on the driving.)

Eventually those bits morphed into an honestly halfway decent movie (by dream standards at least) about a human looking alien fugitive stuck on Earth. Space pursuit had seemingly been called off exactly because there was no way off this planet anyway. So she turned away from her life of whatever she had been doing and tried to get as much out of the Earth experience as she could. I think the first "quest" was flying a plane, and there was quite a bit of sex too. Sex scenes in movies tend to annoy me quite a bit for breaking up the whole flow, and here I am dreaming them in.

But at some point she tracks down a guy who owns like two very special classic cars she wants to drive living in the middle of nowhere. The cars don't work, so the guy thinks she's looking to buy them, but with a quick alien tech look under the hood they start, and she asks for an hourly rate. As she gets hired to work there (and by the end of the season makes ten times what she was hired for, why is that detail there?) the movie turns into a montage of the place becoming a successful off road racing location with powerups hidden in the bushes and everything and lots of different cars and motorcycles. And the soundtrack under the montage is Stunts! And it's a pretty good montage too, first person view motorcycle jumps and everything.

So, I immediately want to tell you guys about this movie with Stunts music in it! I log onto the forums to post about it, but the dream twists it so that she's the one posting about it. We have an alien fugitive on the forum, apparently. The moment she posts she gets a sort of cryptic reply back. She's been found out. Turns out everyone she was working with was an undercover space cop, but they hadn't had confirmation of her identity until now. (And even this honestly was a pretty good scene. they're in a train in an underground station now I think for some reason, for that clean spy movie aesthetic.) So... she was an active member here during her days of space crime?

After this plot twist I try to post to the forums a second time, but now the movie player just crashes or something. (I think this is also the part where I tried to remember the title of the movie by repeating it out loud, yet as soon as I woke up I couldn't remember the actual title I had been repeating.) I think I got it started again eventually, but the alarm clock went off not much later. So here I am trying to post about this a third time.

For as slow as this forum is and as relatively little messages I have posted here, it sure takes up a central part in my brain.

Uhm... a car racing game with human + alien technologies mixed and both human and alien AI opponents.... That would be a great thing to make. Great inspiring dream!  8)

This is one of my favorite things I've seen here  ;D Maybe a lot of mysterious things that have happened here can be explained by the space alien from your dream...
