Kimi is THE man. If McLaren has a good car and it doesn't fail as it did last year, 2006 is Kimi's year.

David Coulthard was beaten by everybody...he just drove constantly in McLaren that's why he had many points, but every time Hakkinen had no bad luck, he was faster than Mr. Scotland :)

Not Coulthard, but also Jarno Trulli, ...
But you can't compare : amount of fuel were different, Rossi used a car with a V10 and not a V8, and his average lap time is not good at all. He just managed to catch good times in the end while other pipsqueaks were more constant.
But Rossi his a good pipsqueak, he is learning so far, and learning fast.
With a dozen of tests like this one planned for this year, I'm sure he will probably foin F1 in 2007.
Even Ferrari believes it : Massa just have a 1 year contract.
2007 : Ferrari will be Rossi + Schumi (if he decides to stay) or Raikonnen (if Schumi wants to leave). I'd like to see Rossi + Schumi, just for Rossi to be better than Schumi. :-D

Kimi is fast, but he blows his engine more than often.
Renault cars are a little bit slower, but they are more regular.
Ferrari has problem to come back to their higher level, they may be on top for the 2nd half of 2006 but they won't be ready for the 1st half.
Toyota could create a big surprise (I hope so, I like Jarno Trulli).
Williams may be champion when Nico Rosberg will have some years of experience, but they will be listfiller again this year.
Midland, Aguri, Honda, ... still have to learn a lot before really beeing competitive.

the brazilian "safra" is weak since senna (RIP  ), barrichello is a shame! felipe massa has some skills, but is not solid nor constant, ricardo zonta is a joke.

maybe nelson piquet?s son (nelsinho - all "inhos" became great sportist) will end this suffer.

the truth is that  I hope barrichello and massa do a great season, but the first one had frustrated me a lot, and the second one will become like the first (an eternal future champion).

either way, I think this year will be great for F-1

Statistical possibility of getting quinella if there are 20 drivers: 1 in 190 (?)
Statistical possibility of getting trifecta if there are 20 drivers: 1 in 6920

Of course it's higher because you know which drivers are good, but still, worth thinking about before you choose trifecta.
Title: Formula One in 2006
Post by: vamologocomisso on March 09, 2006, 09:07:11 PM
my choice was quinella, but I put a driver that you may not agree: Jenson Button (Im betting in the honda sucess this year). with him, I put Raikonen.

In the first race, it will be common and understantable( :? ) if we dont choose very well. We dont known who the best choice is yet... maybe honda wont do a great season like im thinking

can i see other?s bets ?
Title: Formula One in 2006
Post by: Usrin on March 09, 2006, 09:13:01 PM
It's very strange that in trifecta you should guess the correct order of top3, while it doesn't count in quinella... My calculations: quinella --> 1 to 231, trifecta --> 1 to 9240, because there will be 22 drivers. (Well, 4 or 6 of them will have totally insignificant chance for podium...)

Result of qualification is quite sad, but I think there was less fuel in Ferraris... If you didn't watch it: Palik Laci (our TV commentator) made his best as he believed that pipsqueaks should FINISH their laps before the last 20 minutes end. "WHERE ARE THE RENAULTS? WHERE ARE THE RENAULTS? BUT THIS LAP IS ALREADY INVALID!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!" What would he said if Alonso had won the qualifying with his last lap?
:-D
Title: Formula One in 2006

Usrin: it's not fuel question. Ferreri tested a lot in Bahrein - I think this is their big advantage.

It's nonsense... fuel, tests... it's the fact that Ferrari was the best today. Let's see tomorrow's race: maybe there will be another victor, but today Ferrari was the best. And it's apparent that they will be able to win this year, they have a much stronger car than last year.

Today, McLaren was the best, but due to yesterday's performance, they lost the race to Alonso and Schumacher. So considering the whole weekend, Alonso was the best - since he was the winner! :)

Rosberg is a Williams rookie. He lost his front wing at the beginning but after that he drove through several cars and finished 7th. He also set the best lap of the race. Without that first accident he would be at least 5th.

- Jean Alesi (FRA)
- Jacques Villeneuve (CAN)
- Michael Schumacher (GER)
- Juan Pablo Montoya (COL) - from the Williams era
- Fernando Alonso (ESP)

As far as I see there's only one and a half german in the list.  :)

At last Schumacher won!!! B?FF! Yes! Yes! Yes! B?????????????FFFFFFFFFFFF!!!

He had mechanical problems (he didn't want to label it, there were some, it was visible, even Massa was faster than him in the 2nd part of the grand prix by 1-2 seconds), despite this, he was as fast in the third part of the grand prix as the McLarens were, and only Alonso was faster than him. In the beginning of the grand prix, Ferrari and Schumacher showed his power - as for the future, it's very hopeful! We will see a strong Ferrari from now on!

Good drive, great match! Good result! B?FF! Forza Ferrari! B?FF! B?FF! B?FF YEEEEEAH! :D:D:D

It's always that way, no matter what you do, and how good you are, some unexpected factors/details decide the future. But of course it hurts more when you already reached something and then you fall deep - not only today in formula, it's everywhere......in football, job, love, war...life :)

Alonso can overtake just a smoking Ferrari of Schumacher. That's why he deserved this championship. A little bit sad I think.

So I dedicate every of my "very many" ZCT68 leading hours to Michael Schumacher who could only be stopped by the hands of the almighty-intergalactic-bad-luck-forces. Not Alonso. Cheers Schumi!

CTG moves into Jean Todt's head for Brasil GP.

Team tactics:

Low fuel amount for Felipe Massa to take the pole.
A lot of fuel for Michael Schumacher - 3rd or 4th place at the qualification.

First lap: Massa lets Alonso to overtake but crashes him in the first corner. Alonso out. Schumacher wins with safety driving.

If Alonso can avoid the crash: Massa makes a bad race and Alonso gives him a lap... but when he tries to overtake Massa, the brasilian crases him heavily. Alonso out. Schumacher wins with safety driving.

Oh yeah, Massa will be penaltilized - but not Schumacher. :)

very CTG(ish) tactics... ;D
everybody thought that too, obvious plan

the good part is that Massa will try to win the race.
and next year, the good part is that maybe the ferrari fans will cheer for Massa, because of the big Raikonnen?s rejection among the f1 fans.

Raikonnen is quite popular in Europe...

Its a surprise for me...

Renault is too good - Alonso would be a slow crap with Ferrari.

I disaggree. Look at the crappy results Fisichella had with the same car as Alonso : only 1 victory, just like Massa compared to Schumi. Alonso and Schumi are top drivers, Massa is improving fast and may become top driver in a few years, but Fisico is not and will never be a top driver because he is too "instable" : sometimes he can be on top and sometimes he is just crap.

Fisichella was a very good driver few years ago but he had bad luck with teams. He burned out before he arrived to Renault.

I agree partially with Krys, about Fisico, Alonso and Massa.
We have to remember that inside ferrari, they almost forget that Massa exists.
Massa never had the same "equipment", or the same winner tactics (ammount of fuel, number of pit stops, when to "attack", etc). Jean Todt, Ros Brawn, averybody... its all about schummacher, and I dont say thats its wrong, because they want the tittle, so schumi is the right man, BUT because of all that Massa (who isnt that great yet) never had the same treatment inside his team.
With Renault its different, in the beggining of the championship, they wait for the first 3 or 4 races, and then priorizes the leading pipsqueak.

Now, the only real good pipsqueaks are Alonso and Raikkonen (he still have to lose his amazing bad luck).
Button, Massa, Rosberg, Webber, and others are ok pipsqueaks. Kubica, Hamilton and others are promisses, lets see. I liked Montoya, its a shame what happened.

TOP 10 in talent (as for me):

1 Michael Schumacher
2 Kimi Raikonnen
3 Robert Kubica
4 Jenson Button
5 Fernando Alonso
6 Mark Webber
7 Nelson Piquet Jr.
8 Lewis Hamilton
9 Nico Rosberg
10 Sebastian Vettel

Vamolo: can you tell me some information about Bruno Senna? Where is he racing at the moment? Is he really such a great talent?

But sometimes talent is not enough... It's takes some "Luck" to land on the right team. See what happens to Kimi. He's a hell of a driver, but Mercedes engines can't stand his driving. Kimi & Ferrari means a lot of tittles.

The Senna family are waiting the right moment to try something big for him.
Piquet (father) have a tottaly different plan for his son, and he(father) is pushing the teams managers hard in the paddock. He wants his kid in a winner team for "yesterday". He is using all his influence for that, and he has an important friend of old times - frank williams.

About their skills: The truth is that I?ll proplably say something out of reality, because (like expected) the brasilian press are saying the obvous bullshit: "The new Senna has arrive" "At last, a new hope" "Piquetzinho are the greatest" "Schummacher who ? Here comes the new brasillian wave!!!" AHUHAhauhaahuah... ok ok, the brasilian press arent saying "exactly" those things, haeuhauhaueha, but they arent saying some impartialy things too...

What I presume: Piquet could be a little better than barrichelo (what for? but with more skills than rubens and some guts... who knowns?!) and Senna a little worst. But I say this knowing too little about piquet and almost nothing about senna. Hamilton did better than piquet in f2, but you must had see the great curriculum barrichello had when he came to f1...

Massa won at Interlagos, 13 years after Senna a Brasilian win at home race. Who will rememeber it ? Only Brazilians.

Alonso won his 2nd Wold Champion title in a row. Who will remember it ? Only Spanish.

Renault won Constructor championship. Who will remember it ? Only French.

Schumi made a fabulous race showing everybody that he can leave the Formula 1 when racing at his very best. Who will remember it ? Everybody !!!
I don't like to much the man, but how good pilot he remains. A clean race (not like some he did in the past years), marvelous one. Without his tyre problem, he would have won easily. Respect.

You said it all right Krys, Michael Schumacher is the greatest driver. I was so sad that the race was over so quickly, he made a fantastic chase!

In honour of Michael Schumacher I organised a carting race here in Zagreb with my friends and friend's friends. We will drive the qualification laps for time, and then the real race. I hope on thursday if the weather is fine (althoough I'd like to drive in rain :)

We'll have a camera man maybe, so I'll let you know what happened :)

VIVA MICHAEL SCHUMACHER!!!
