I don't want to see ZakStunts die...

Neither me. Upload the track with rules here and let's start racing! Zak can update the site later.

Dunno, maybe Zak would like to make some changes as track is quite long, even with NSX powergear.

I just created a special track for Skoda Felicia. Maybe it can be used later too. :) (a bit similar to C?rdoba but less off-road racing)

Anyway, as I'm at my job right now, I can't provide the track until I'll be back home this evening.

For unknown reason, the track don't want to load properly since I added scenery on it. Here is attached a corrected track where jump over boat is replaced by a short elevated road. I still don't understand why this problem occurs, sorry.

I forgot to say that the file posted in my previous message had to be renamed zct75 before racing it. If you modified the zct75 zip Zak, then it will be ok for the new downloads.
Sorry again for this weird game bug.

Some more infos about the track : it's a modified version of the New Zealand's track named Taupo that I made for Stunts Career project (that's why I named it TaupoZak : Taupo for ZakStunts ;) ).
I modified it (cutting of one part of the track) to make it shorter and added the additionnal road to make 2 laps and then added the pitstop part.

And here is the demo replay with auto gears (manual gears are recommended).
Reminder : you don't have to race versus an opponent, there's one only in the demo replay.

Don't cut too much in the grass after the loop or you'll crash as Otto did.

Unluckily the race goes on after the "2nd" lap, it does not stop after crossing the line...  :-[

Too long track, too much suffer with RH when having an opponent and lack of motivation. 80% of my skills is not enough to win against Mark or you.  And I can't provide more now...

And I'm also happy to see that another wave of talents is here: the improving Mark, the reborn Chulk or the extremely motivated veteran AbuRaf. Maybe it can revive competitions and call back the old giants like Bonzai Joe or Gutix.

Well, I would really like reaguge me in 3-4 races with 10 motivated strong drivers. I would be very happy to be within firsts eight.... Anyway, I'm quite satisfied of my current skill that has permitted me recently to win in all contests (except SDR...  ::)), even if smoothed by a not large participation. Maybe if current drivers try to keep alive the taste of a sane challenge, someone could come back, and anyway this could bring new sap to Stunts!   ;) :)

Sure, it's a real compliment, thanks!  :) This year CTG was really motivated (as he declared) only in 2 race where I raced: Mastery (1st CTG, 2nd me at 0"80) and Brasso (1st CTG, 3rd me at 0"50). Other compares: ZCT72 (me 2nd, CTG 4th), ZCT74 (me 1st, CTG 2nd), but CTG was not motivated. Well, I'm very satisfied to be so near him, it seems that this will be a year where we can enjoy with some dazzling challenges!  I hope CTG finds again his full motivation, and maybe it's necessary to provoke him a bit...  ;)   How can I do..?  ::)   I can try so: CTG, why don't you show how you can smash 45" barrier at Kalpen CTRACK-A, and also reach 42" as you declared? I continue to think that winning time won't be 42" and that, anyway, you won't win that race!  ;) :)

I had not forgotten Ajka, but I didn't mentioned it because I thought that if you decided (since the beginning) not to race on it at par with other drivers (but only with autogear), evidently you had your good reason...  ;)

Title: Re: ZCT 75
Post by: CTG on May 17, 2007, 11:12:36 PM
The reason is that I don't want to be too high in my own competition - but sometimes I have to shake up people with a faster replay. Few months go I've found the solution: driving a mediorce lap or a godd auto trm one for the contest and a quality one for the YouTube online help. My victories in USC are usually accidental.

Race versus Otto and he will always crash as in the demo replay, so he won't be a problem for RH management.
Anyway, IMSA Cup was always with opponent and it never made you not racing, so it's a false excuse. :P

I suggest to change the rules a bit: stop your replay 1 seconds after you crossed the finish line and send it in. :)
Title: Re: ZCT 75
Post by: Krys TOFF on May 20, 2007, 07:30:18 PM
This is quite strange. I have the same problem when I try to continue your replay, but I made replays for me (with Helen in NSX car like me) and got no problem. My demo replay with Otto shows that it's not auto-gears bug.
Maybe it's because you gave a different car instead of the same as yours. I'll try to make a replay from scratch with Bernie and LM0002 like you did and I'll tell you what happens.
Title: Re: ZCT 75
Post by: Krys TOFF on May 20, 2007, 07:54:53 PM
OK, 2 replays made quickly, both versus Bernie and with auto gears.
When Bernie is driving the LM0002, the replay doesn't finish.
When Bernie is racing with same car as me (that is Acura NSX), then the replay is finished.

So, for unknown reason, it seems you have to race versus an opponent (the one you want, it doesn't matter) AND give him the same car as yours. Anyway, all opponents crash at the first jump.

Good news and bad news - the good one is I *might* have found a solution for the bug, the bad beign it would involve a slight rule change... Similar problems I had while trying to build a weird dual-way (actually dual-sense) track (problems which also were car-dependent) motivated a couple tests on ZCT75. Results of my laps were (on my XP/DOSBox system, this could be system-dependent as well):

*Acura NSX vs. Clock : Lap does not end
*Acura NSX vs. Otto's NSX : Lap does not end either
*Indy vs. Otto's Indy : Lap does not end as well
*Indy vs. Clock : Something even weirder - I get 0:53 penalty at pitstop!

The penalty was inflicted only when I deviated from the course to run through the spare car - running straight through the pits gave no penalty at all. Seeing this, I aborted the lap and reverted to...

*Acura NSX vs. Clock, without driving through spare car : Lap completed!

Heaven knows what the pathfinding engine of Stunts thinks... anyway, a probably working solution would be to cross the pitlane without getting into the spare car. Of course it would shorten the times a couple seconds, but don't think it would be a big problem ATM. And of course, it makes the track less cute...  :-[

Sounds like the most extensive examination of that bug until now, thanks guy! ;) Seems like Krys' solution with same cars for both drivers doesn't always work... :-\
As the scoreboard is still quiet empty and as there are still 12 days remaining, I would also vote for the solution to simply drive straight through the pitlane, or to change the track a little bit and close the gap with some piece of road.
What do the others think about that?

Thanks for completing my tests with yours Duplode. Mine were made under Win9x, not XP.

Possibilities :
- drive throught pit lane without going to pitstop.
- replace square with the car by a simple straight mud line (in order to identify the good pitstop and to reproduce the fact that car is slowered as there's no road for the moment in this square, just the car).
- keep the track as is, and valid replay manually (that means pipsqueaks send replays by mail and Zak will have to spend time vallidating them and updating scoreboard manually).

Let Zak choose. Personnally I think the best would be to do the 3rd one. But it's time-costing for Zak...

I just recognized that ZCT 75 has a single key section, every other parts can be done easily. If somebody does a certain thing there (I couldn't) then he's going to win the race. Mark will win. Or Alain - this is a typical "Per?ish" track.

...or somebody from Silver Spirit.  ;D Pfffff, too unrealistic to be true!  ::)

Another nice track, surely the best of the season so far. Length and opponent makes the RH harder but the easy second lap compensates it. If I said grats to Akoss for Gy?ngy?s then I have to do the same for Krys Toff and ZCT 75. Nice work Krys!

Winner will have far-far better time (8-10 seconds) than the first place lap at the moment. Mark L. Rivers is in a serious winning series, I stake on his victory. Chulk will be second, Dottore third. No more Acura medals for CTG.  :P
