Title: RH - R5/2007 - "TETRIS"
Post by: Mark L. Rivers on May 29, 2007, 09:50:08 PM

We are going to arrive at the half of the championship and it?s time to do some considerations just before R5, a race that tell us more clearly who want to climb on final podium, especially on the tallest step. Looking the general classification, we can see a couple of drivers, Chulk and me, who are leading the season with about ten points on AbuRaf70, about 20 points on Krys TOFF and 25-30 points on CTG (2 races missed), SuperBrian and Zak McKracken (2 races missed). More detached Paleke and Sergio Baro. What can we said about? Well, with 6 tracks still to race and a bonus points system that can permit to gain until 21 points in a unique race (AbuRaf70 learns!), there are sure possibilities for many drivers to win the title. Moreover, all could encounter some suddens missing one or more races, and this could easily change the classification. So, all the firsts 6 in classification can really still aspire to the final victory, but next race maybe could be the last chance for some of them to remain on the train for the title. appropriately, next race won?t be marked from a specific quality or characteristic but it will include 4 different sections really engaging whereto it will need a different quality for everyone of them: fluency for the 1st one, acrobatics for the 2nd one, speed for the 3rd one and steering for the last one. This should make a very balanced race not favouring any driver in order of his own characteristics. Who will be able to match all the components so to succeed to make a ?perfect line?? Remembering that there will be only 62 hours between Start and the 1st checkpoint, jump inside your Porsche 962 and demonstrate how you are able to play at ?Tetris?!  ;)

P962 is the worse IMSA car. Even Bonzai Joe hates it. ;D

I like better than Jaguar but I'm not sure why. I feel steering is better as well as top speed, but I'm no sure about it.

Top speed is the same, P962 has better acceleration but a bit delayed steering.

Track is available! Gentlemen, start your engines... and remember: only 62 hours to the 1st checkpoint!  ;)

In this firsts 62 hours, 4 drivers on the track and a very strong time yet by Chulk! The argentinian driver leads with 1'01"60 ahead me (2nd) AbuRaf70 (3rd) and Duplode who starts is adventure on SDR RH contest!  :) :)   While we're waiting other drivers join in next week, we can say that sure Chulk seems to be intentioned to stay ahead all since from the beginning to the end, but will his first time permit him to catch many other bonus points?  ???  If it will be so, he'll sure can re-overtake me in general classification...  ::)   So it will be very difficult for me to calculate which time he must be reach at next checkpoint...  :-\   Well, we know it next Sunday!  ;)

Funny, I feel I also miscalculated my opponents 1st chepoint performance, only in the other direction  ;D.

Very first try, workplace, no sound, auto trm, 5 minutes RH: 1:04.95. Nice, typical MLR track. I'll join the race again. :)

Good point! ;D But as I can't see other results I have to put up my goal in final time. Now it changed to 52. :)

As I wrote on "Abandon" topic, I think it?s a good thing if I make more transparent my participation in SDR. So... the following file contains my final time in TETRIS for Checkpoint 2. Password to open it will be published after the checkpoint...  ;)

Good idea but I think nobody ever questioned your racing or your times. Did I miss someones complaint or anything?

It's true, nobody questioned about my racing or my times. But I think it's correct in this way. I think that it's not necessary to receive complaints to make more transparent my management, if I can do earlier something to avoid eventual doubts. And even if maybe compliants wouldn't be arrived, in this way I think to foster a sane fair play that it's a good thing for all this little world.  :)

You're wrong, CTG. My zip-file won't help anyone, as you can see if you'll open it after I'll publish the password. Only it will confirm my fair play.  ;)

Same problem as with Abandon track : I can't download the track with double click on track's name.
I tried right click/save as (then I get a name download_tetris.trk instead of tetris.trk) but then I get an error : track is not the good size tells TrackBlaster, and Stunts crashes when I try to load the track downloaded this way.

Strange bug.... I've just downloaded track from main page and I succeed to load it (with DOSBox 0.65) in Track Blaster and in Stunts without problem...

2nd Checkpoint!

Strong outset by CTG who realizes a very fast time reaching easily the 1st provisional place!  8)  The hungarian champion conquers 1 bonus point leading with over 2" on Chulk (0,5 bonus point for him) and over 3" on me. But behind all them, Duplode and AbuRaf70 are closing to the minute barrier with very significative improvements.  :)  Anyway, all drivers engaged since the 1st week of race lowered over 3% their firsts time, and this means an high intentness.  ;) Waiting for Damage Inc. drivers (Krys TOFF, SuperBrian, Paleke) and other ones, we are now projecting on last checkpoint! Will CTG succeed to lower again his great time so to get other bonus points? Chulk, Mark L. Rivers or others will succeed to overtake him so to impede him to get other 2 bonus points? And what about the southamerican challenge between Duplode and AbuRaf70? Who will put his wheels ahead his opponent? 7 days to the replies!  :)

P.S.

3rd Checkpoint

A new leading time with change at vertex: I pushed hard is Porsche 962 until 55"20 getting the 1st provisional place and a whole bonus point!  8)  So I overtook Chulk (no improvement for him but still 3rd) and CTG who tried to keep the lead lowering his previous time about 1", but not enough to beat new leading time.  ;)  Behind the podiumers, AbuRaf70 hooks Duplode reaching his same time: hot duel in last week between them!  :)   And at 6th place we find Krys TOFF, 0"25 behind the southamerican couple, with a very fast outset (leading time at 1st CP was only 0"30 better  :)) . And now, last week of race! Who will be able to put his wheels ahead all? Will I succeed to keep my 1st provisional place in the championship? Or will Chulk succeed to return to the head of the contest? And what about CTG? Will he succeed to get his 2nd victory in the season keeping alive his chances for the final victory? Next Sunday we'll know all the answers!  ;)

Final result!

2nd victory in a row for me and I lunge in general classification!  :) I raced very fast (above all in 1st and 3rd section) succeeding to precede on the podium CTG (fastest 2nd section) and a retrieved Krys TOFF! The hungarian driver didn't send improvements (was he at his best yet or too much engaged with other contests...?  :D ;) ) while the french driver has caught just in the last minutes (as usual) his 4th podium ever in RH-SDR!  :) Just after the podiumers, we find the more and more consistent Duplode: 4th place in his first SDR RH race with the fastest 4th section, great!  8)  The two "Meganium's" driver close the classification with Chulk 5th (no improvement for him since 2nd checkpoint) and AbuRaf70 6th (good final improvement that lead him very near at his teammate). A bit disappoint not to see other "Damage's" drivers, SuperBrian and Paleke,  ::)   who could make more interesting the gage in Team classification, where MeganiuM High Aces leads with only 16 points just on Damage Inc. About Driver classification, as aforesaid I lunge, but we are only at half season. Five drivers can still aspire to the final victory, above all Chulk who have only a gap of 12 points. But sure hot becomes the challenge for the final podium after the rescue of CTG and Krys TOFF on AbuRaf70, by now hounded. And now stop for a week. Next race will be next Sunday, the 1st July, with the 2nd Indy race of this year (the 3rd will be the last of the season). A short description of the race is expected for next wednesday. Anyway, I can say yet that track will be very, very spectacular and the show will be great! ;)

I wanted to race on the last night but Transport Tycoon seemed to be more interesting than Stunts. :) Nice time anyway, it would need at least 20-30 minutes of heavy RH from me to beat it. When racing in several contests, even another 20 minutes is quite a lot.

I spent all my friday evening preparing the school fiesta and all my saturday managing it with other parents. I didn't touched Stunts until this morning when I woke up at 11AM. I had no time to race seriously both RH and noRH. As situation was sharper for RH due to more participants, I raced RH race. It's nice to see I managed to get the podium. :)

But beware, I'm going to buy an USB keyboard soon - experts say due to the hot weather and the poor cooling of notebooks caused the keyboard error: plastic parts deformed. Contact works only after hitting keys several times/for a long time or holding down the whole coverslip of the notebook while playing (not a comfortable thing ;D).
