Title: FTT0105
Post by: Krys TOFF on July 15, 2008, 11:26:37 AM
4 words to comment this track : Acura, dual-way, powergear & way-switching.
Enjoy the ride, choose your path wisely, try to manage powergear turns with Acura, and don't get penalty time. ;D

So... Leading Time Bonus? Is it on or not? Shall I send my 40 secs replay already?  ;D

I have to try very soon this time (holidays from 18th to 28th July)...
Anyway, funny challenge, a challenge where we can really feel the thrill...!  ;)
But, above all: welcome AbuRaf70!!!!  :)

No, sorry, leading time bonus is not yet implemented...
I started the coding of it but had no time, with my busy family week-end, to finish it and test it.

If I had not known Duplode, I could almost think he's trying to put me under pressure....  :D  Btw: Krys....?  ;)

OK, I'll be free tonight. Expect a time from me when you wake up tomorrow.

Edit: What's promised is owed!

Meee, putting anyone under pressure??? No, of course not... *points to angelical halo*  :)
But one evident thing must be stressed: Chulk is the obvious, absolute, clear-cut favourite to win this time...
;D :D

[/ gratuitous provocations mode off]
Now seriously, I do think Chulk is in a strong position to get his first FTT victory. This race promises to be quite unusual, almost like a NoRH interpretation of Z79... let's wait and see!

So, FTT0105 seems to be very close. And we got great times earlier in the race. My guess is that Winning Time will be a low 48 or a high 47, I don't think below 47 is possible.

Damn, I always get 18 seconds penalty at the start, or I crash into the banked corner wall. But I hope soon to join the centisecond war around 50 seconds, beware guys !

That makes us two taking Krys seriously then.  ;)

And I'm on holidays tonight for 3 weeks, but will be at home first 2 weeks (working on the house and the garden), so I'll have more time to race compared to now, mainly dedicated to noRH racing (JACStunts and FTT). Beware even more ! ;D
OK, maybe I just say it to make you nervous... or maybe not.

Estoy igual que Krys...  o me penaliza con 18 segundos o me estrello en la pared...  todavía no logro pasar, pero lo sigo intentando...

Krys:  espero tengas unas buenas vacaciones y que las disfrutes mucho...

I'll be on holidays the next 2 weeks too. Only that I still have to study, so I'll have more time, but not all the time in the world...

Krys: Enjoy your holidays!

I've broken through... :D

Another paranoid question on video sending: there's no problem if the recorded lap has bugged engine sound, with only the "back-beat" part of it audible, right?
Title: Re: FTT0105
Post by: Krys TOFF on July 28, 2008, 11:16:07 PM
Well, it happened to me sometimes that when you let the game for a while (like when answering a phone call or so), then the game is with no sound when you race again, or sometimes with limited sound (only the sliding, no engine sound, quite weird).
Often a crash is required to put the sound back, sometime 2 crashes are needed.
I think it's a DOSBox bug.
As it's a bug and as Stunts is bug pleasure, I can't refuse it. ;) But please when it happens next time just deliberately do a crash and then restart the race, and normally the sound should be back to normal. :)

Krys, better start your engine. Aburaf is aready at the edge of the minute, and we are still waiting for you to join the 50 secs battle (though now it's a 49 secs battle)  ;)

I'd do that usually, but at that time I was about to stop racing for the day and was doing some completely careless laps just for the kicks, and it just happened I improved my time unexpectedly. But next time I'll be more careful   :)

Sure, and BTW now we're also expecting Mark to join the fifty forty-nine forty-eight seconds battle...  ;)

My time is 45"60. Ftt doesn't permit me to register it... but my clock signed 17.59....

Well, we all are really pushing the live deadline system... :D Nevertheless, I won't object for a few seconds in case Krys accepts Mark's result. And damn, this was astonishingly close yet again! :o
Title: Re: FTT0105

I sent my replay and video by mail at 18:02. Krys, evaluate what you want to do, and thanks Duplode for your fair play.

Analyzing the race, I realized my time last 18th July, before my holidays, and then I didn't race until today when I saw (18:25 of today) Duplode's winning time published. I tried to improve, but I realized "only" a 45,80 at 18:52 and just at 18:58 I didn't succeed to keep on the road my Acura in last curve, when I miss 3 seconds to the finish... >:(  Maybe it was enough: I land on the bank-road at 39,85 against 39,90 of my best time...  :'(
A thing is sure: this is not a lucky year for me...  ::)
But congratulations to you, Duplode, again! It seems that 3rd official NORH contest will have a 3rd different winner...  ;)

OK, I'll accept it. I got his mail a few minutes after the deadline, that's right.
Anyway, what is important is servor's time. I can't do anything about it, it's not my home servor as Zak's one.
So, I suggest you to correct your computer's clock. ;)

Maybe FTT site wasn't working properly. I tried to send my time 15 minutes before, but after many failed attempts, I decided to mail Krys and after writing a long mail explaining everything. Right before sending it, I gave FTT live update a last shot and it worked (1 min to go) and mail was aborted.

What was the issue you had Chulk ?
Remember that server's time is written on the page where you publish your time. If you see there that it's more than 19H (server local time, that is GMT+2 as server is in France), you won't be able to send your time with the website system, whatever your own computer's clock is.

Post by: Chulk on August 05, 2008, 11:48:59 PM
I couldn't open active race menu. It was around 13:30 in Argentina (GMT-3) so even if my computer clock could be wrong (I don't think so, as it sinchronizes every day with time.windows.com) half an hour would be quite a lot...
I could open http://feelthethrill.free.fr/site/index.php but not http://feelthethrill.free.fr/site/active.php
Nothing to do with the clock in my case

Was it a 404 error page or was there another error message ? If it was a 404 error, it was an issue of the server I think, I didn't delete the page.

Well, sadly I can't do anything when it's server's issue. But do not hesitate to send by mail your replay and video then with the explanation of your issue. As long as you send the mail until the deadline, it's OK. ;)

OK, I'll check it tomorrow. It's midnight here in France and my wife wants to go sleeping stallin. ;D :D ;)

edit : oh, skiding is replaced by stallin now. :D Zak likes to do us some surprises sometimes. ;)
