Alanrotoi asked for it, and I thought it is a good idea, so I installed a Chat addon to the forum.
After logging in you only have to click CHAT in the blue bar at the top.
no further login needed, the chat works with your forum account.

You can see the number of users in chat at the moment at the bottom of the forum page.

Is there any logging?
logging: there should be something, as you can see a short chat history when you enter the room. I'll look it up.
