A very thin maybe for a head to head contest again... if there's a need.

I would really enjoy seeing 8 positive replies on this topic, though. It should be possible, I guess  :)

Hm maybe, why not. But to lure me back, I'd prefer a simple monthly competition (without special rules, percentages, leading time bonus etc.), like USC. I may drive some tracks in the near future.

Standings: 4-1... well, it needs 8 pipsqueaks.

DUP, POO, ZAK, CTG so far.

First round evaluation:
strong points: car, opponent beatability
weak points: racing after 2 years of break, track design

Second round hopes:
strong points: my track design
weak points: car, opponent beatability

I've just sent my first lap out of the pit.

The last hour helped me, I had a time above 59 at midnight. :) I managed to do the loopcut at around 0:40 CET, improving my time from 58.75 to 58.00 with it. Personally I really liked racing my own track, except for the bridge-sharp corner-chicane part before the boulevard... The final result and table: oh, damn... at least I should have beat Gutix's time...

Congrats top6, really tight battle. :)

It seems

-I made a very good start
-decent first slide jump
-decent sharp corner/chicane combination+banked road jumps
-mediocre pipe slide jump (a bit too much break, landing location not perfect)
-very good double corner (great leaving speed)
-transmission error at the final straight...  ::) ??? >:( :( :-\

Sorry I missed last track... I wasn't around the forum and as I didn't get the track to my usual hotmail address I thought it was delayed for some reason I didn't know for not being around the forum. And as I only check gmail account when I KNOW races are going on, I didnt check that either or else I would have realized raced had started... SORRY AGAIN!

PS: I voted for CTG 2, Poo 0 for 5th round. I have the feeling Duplode and me will pull a great show there, right pal?

About the poll: CTG 2, Poo 1 is the most realistic, since CTG beat Poo in all the previous 3 tracks, while on all the previous 3 tracks, Poo beat all the opponents who are destined to lose in this round (this destination is again based on the previous 3 tracks).  8)

I voted for CTG 0, Poo 3 just to annoy CTG... but I wonder how the others thought about their vote.  :o

Btw come on, Chulk, I'm crazily waiting for this battle for that 1 pt. :)

Thanks. But the problem is different: I'm really busy these days, spending only 1-1.5 hours online (/day), 80 percent of it is gone by chatting with girls (I mean a certain girl ;D), the other 20 is my official mailing. On the other hand I'm ill again (Chulk: "something is wrong with your immune system"), having terrible pain in my neck when turning my head (probably I can't stand the strong air conditioning in the lab) - that also keeps me away from the internet.

And of course I'm still at work.

Well, to put it bluntly: in order to win this thing I "just" need three overall victories. Or, in what may be a more likely scenario, win rounds 6 and 7 and, in Kashiwa, defeat Chulk and pray for CTG and Akoss' motivating insults against each other being effective enough to make one of them beat Gutix.

And about Brian: Heaven's sake, he should be fighting for ZakStunts victories already. At this point, I am almost feeling like asking Cork for a temporary unpaid leave only so I can convince him that he really really should switch to manual gears, even if it "only" seems to mean one or two seconds per lap.

Finally, I managed to download that damned Melange from somewhere (IMSA Cup web site... shameful that I couldn't found it elsewhere). After some training laps with Jaguar on Tuesday, I drove two laps with the Melange without sound and replay handling today (auto gears) - so the race has begun. (The better lap of those two was 1:21.60.)

Congratulations, ehh... hard fought battle, I spent the most time on this track so far since my return.

Though there was no Ayrton, and maybe he's a different class from everybody else... I'm relieved, the golden era generation is equally good related to the current one.

Provisional results:

1 CTG 1:03.90
2 Gutix 1:04.00
3 Akoss Poo 1:04.10

Though it's a league, I'm always considering these tracks as a normal one.

I'm waiting for an USC or a competition like the old USC after this league.

Did you ever really had doubts about that? For instance, after I established myself as a "top" driver I never thought that comparing the pairs Akoss Poo / CTG and Mark L. Rivers / Duplode could result in anything but a quadruple draw  :)
---

As for the championship, I am obviously in trouble. Considering the availability of best loser bonus points and how my advantage in time difference has now evaporated I have little option but to get two overall victories. Given the current state of affairs, though, I will read the lucky victory I just scraped against Chulk as a sign - and will fight to death.

Yay, keeping my tradition of flopping in special events!  ::)

Don't think it's over though, I have two good reasons to motivate myself for the final round:

1. Beating CTG (I miss an adequate smiley for that)
2. Defeating a ZakStunts champion in a direct USL match for the first time.

Oh, by the way: I demand that Akoss reverts his decision of skipping the last round. I didn't threaten anything of the sort after losing to Brian, which more than anything else may have costed me the title (not just because of the two points, but also for a couple notches of determination being lost due to the standings and so on)

Interesting statistic. But of course there is another important factor which is whether you have your weak opponents on difficult/long tracks or short/easy tracks. Still, I think your conclusion is reasonable.

Monza is a track for real pipsqueaks  :) In most cases I tend to embarass myself when racing in pure, flat tracks - specially when my motivation is not very stable - but I actually liked this one quite a lot.  ;)

Post by: Akoss Poo a.k.a. Zorromeister on June 04, 2010, 08:28:45 PM
I'm still out of motivation, though I'm still trying to gain back my motivation pills... My weekend seems to be a free one, but I'm not planning to participate in the closing round. CTG knew how to keep me off stunts racing again the shortest way after luring me back some months ago.

This can only happen in a CTG championship, this can only "happen" to a team-mate of CTG, and this can only "happen" to me...

Yes, Super Brian had the right to do his best, but it's his (and YOUR, CTG) only explanation on the case. And being legal and being fair, the two expressions are very far from each other.

After driving a time which was impossible to be beaten with automatic transmission, I travelled to Debrecen for the closing months (weekend) to have a rest and a party with a friend of mine. Of course CTG knew that probably I wouldn't improve my time. And what happens? Super Brian, CTG's team-mate (very important to emphasize this), by using automatic transmission for the very first time in the league, just beats me, while I'm away (after being relieved with a driven time impossible to be beaten with auto trm.). There were tracks which were also hard to compete with auto transmission, there were opponents which would have been able to be beaten by Super Brian with manual transmission, but Super Brian insisted on driving auto trm. against them. And by the "help" of my eternal rival, CTG (who even showed on the USL site that it's not suitable to reach a fair result on this track with auto trm.), Super Brian changed his mind. Exactly this time, exactly in this league, exactly against me, exactly by being CTG's team-mate.

Okay, my time was crap (though I knew it's perfectly enough against auto trm.). But if Super Brian (and YES, YOU, CTG) had been fair and consequent (the same enthusiasm and transmission against each opponent), I would have won this battle.

I didn't have the motivation even to write this comment, but I wanted to tell this before the league closes.

Because of these, I'm not about to drive in a CTG competition for a while.

BÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!

Bad news: after an unlucky "accident" (hitting the wall with anger because of the loud and retarded neighbours) my right wrist injured seriously, it's probably broken. It means 1:01.40 is my final time on Monza... Sorry DUP, I wanted to fight with you. Now it seems I can't... :-\ >:(

Edit: I'll give a short try... :)

As I told before: typical Poo crying. Learn how to lose - it happened 4 times from 6... :P

When one doesn't have a good reason to explain why the other is wrong (because he's right), the person reacts this way. CTG, if you had stayed shutted up, it would have been a wiser decision.

No replay from me, as I told.

Still typical... ;D

Improving but still not enough. My wrist is in ruins.

Sorry about your stupid neighbours (been there already...) and wrist, CTG. Even under such circumstances I still think you will win this final match. In any case, I am driving a bit right now - nothing serious, just cleaning Parabolica a bit...

Like in the latest rounds: my final lap.

Update: in the evening.

I cannot see why it's important to mention that I am CTG's teammate. Of course I understand your critique, but we haven't send replays to each other in the team in almost a year if that's what you're trying to say - And we haven't even spoke about the USL-competition. It wouldn't make sense either, because there are no team-standings!!

Furthermore I did not know that you were away that weekend, I just tried to beat your time so I could gain some more points. Despite of some pipsqueaks I do not always race for winning the whole track, I also race for secondary positions because of a statestic of my pipsqueak-profile which I update after every race.
- For instance it was the first time out of eight encountings between us, that I won.

So this was one motivation, and the other one was not ending up in the worst position, and I realised that I would very well do that if I didn't switch to manual gears. I also think it is important to emphazise that it wasn't the first time I have driven the Countach with manual transmission. I have done that plenty of times contrary to other cars, because the Countach sucks with auto trm. (Actually I drive manual trm - Countach in Zakstunts right now)!
So I think you have completely misjudged the result. It wasn't personal, it was mainly because of the car that I switched.

And so another nice tournament is finished... in the bigger scheme of things, this USL further highlighted Gutix, who recovered the current #1 pipsqueak status, and SuperBrian, the up-and-coming star. As for myself... well, the truth is that right now I am in too much of a peaceful and non-competitive mood to truly care about "revenge" on Gutix (for ISM 2010) or CTG (for USL 2008). Part of me thinks I could have done a little better in other circumstances, but probably not considering the performances of Gutix and CTG. At least I won a round this time, that alone makes me happy :) You can count on me being around for the next USx, joining yet another colourful roster of pipsqueaks...

P.S.: I can't close this message without congratulating AbuRaf for his very cool victory over Brian on the final round  ;)

Ok, guys. First of all, Congrats to Gutix! Well done Champ!!! Now, I want to apologise for not racing this last race, but the truth is I felt discriminated because Akoss raced against every other pipsqueak and decided not to do it against me... Nah, just kidding. I had a very strong flu and have been in bed with constant headache and around 39º fever for the last 10 days, so obviously I couldn't race.
Hope to be in nexzt content and have a better performance (University, Work, Illness and Death where around more than usual this last few moths).
I apologise AGAIN, specially to CTG for being the organizer of the event.

You mustn't apologize: health is the very first - everything else is secondary.
