Title: ZCT 127 - Credit Risk
Post by: CTG on February 03, 2012, 03:52:53 PM
Car choice? It won't be that easy...

To summarize it a bit (for newbies):

Acura NSX (bonus: 20 %)
20 percent seems to be not enough, even if Acura has a great low speed powergear function. Anyway it's a good choice for less experienced drivers, if they use the longer & faster way or 5-8th place pipsqueaks for the shorter version.

Audi Quattro (bonus: -1 %)
This car is sleeping for 4-6 months...

Chevrolet Corvette (bonus: -8 %)
6-8 months...

Ferrari GTO (bonus: 19 %)
Good for funny replay and powergear magic (long way), but it can't score this time.

Jaguar XJR9 IMSA (bonus: 16 %)
Almost proper for this track - too bad, P962 has slightly better bonus. Don't use this one for a serious lap.

Lamborghini Countach (bonus: 1%)
Zak (and other Countach fans = mad pipsqueaks) has to wait at least 8-10 months for this car.

Lancia Delta Integrale (bonus: 34 %)
Good choice for any drivers for the shorter way (easy handling, excellent turning ability), but I don't suggest it for the other one.

Lamborghini LM002 (bonus: 12 %)
Fuckin' slow.

Nissan Skyline (bonus: 18 %)
Ignore it now. Maybe in May. Or June.

Porsche 962 IMSA (bonus: 18 %)
Another excellent choice, the good acceleration pays a lot on a slow track.

Porsche Carrera (bonus: 39 %)
Almost as good as the Lancia - just a bit better bonus and a bit lower top speed.

Porsche March Indy (bonus: -17 %)
245 mph in the long straights is still not enough.

Speedgate XSD (bonus: -8 %)
Even if it has better bonus and acceleration than Indy, I can't suggest this one.

Superkart (bonus: 11 %)
It isn't worth to try this month.

Ferrari F40 (bonus: 27 %)
Another possibility for any pipsqueaks, bonus / acceleration / handling trio seems to be almost ideal.

Lotus Esprit Turbo (bonus: 29 %)
Only for the fans, Lotus has no chance this time.

I like to use classic cars, I don't know why.  :-\

Track analysis / hints? We should bring back this kind of help for less experienced pipsqueaks. Like in 2002.

Acura is very slow now.

I hate my own tracks. And only South American pipsqueaks are able to win them...

ZCT 52: 5th (Ayrton, Argammon, Akoss Poo, Gutix)
ZCT 59: 5th (Ayrton, Renato Biker, Alain, Bonzai Joe)
ZCT 68: 5th (Renato Biker, Alain, Ayrton, Chulk)
ZCT 85: 3rd (Ayrton, Alan Rotoi)
ZCT 95: 3rd (Duplode, Bonzai Joe)

I wish that was true. :) but - if Bonzai Joe and Alan Rotoi won't send replay I can be third. :) My first podium? :)

If... -- drop the conditionals and go gunning for it! There are 68 time units between your lap and CTG's, that's quite some margin to chip away.

I can't promise that I won't send a replay, although it is highly likely that I will forget to. Anyway you don't become a winner by hoping :-P

Nobody could complete the trick I expected: magic carpet around 12-13 seconds. Almost did it... :-\

That's why the competition is very interesting when you build the track. The people finds other ways, does tricks you never imagine, etc.

Post by: BonzaiJoe on March 02, 2012, 10:16:29 PM
I thought about that immediately, but none of the relevant cars are good at magic carpets - especially not the F40. I couldn't lift it a centimer off the ground at all (except using ramps  :P). I also thought about a flying finish at the end, which would save many seconds. Wasn't even close to pulling it off...

especially not the F40

I have to disagree. If you jumped on the tunnel's edge, it was possible to make decent jumps. Only the angle failed in my case.
