I don't know what to say about this track...

The ramp-cork overlay looks annoying.

what difference does it make? If you last hive time to race on the 29th, give all-in and race that day. If you are alone on 31st, at least you have something to do :)

Stunts stutters a bit when all the cactai (plural!) are in view, near the dual-lane part. Is it happening to anyone else?

Should I tweak my dosbox settings, or could we have a version of the track with fewer poligon floating around?

Canned troubleshooting: change the number of cycles setting in DOSBox to 20000. If that causes frame rate problems, lower it to 12000 (or 10000 if your computer is really old). As for the other option, it would be up to Zak, but I believe that removing the "southernmost" rows of vegetation wouldn't affect the race.

P.S.: Below are the machine/graphics/sound part of my DOSBox .conf file, in case you want to try it (I have no stuttering, or at least it is slight enough I can't notice it).

[cpu]
cycles=20000
core=dynamic

[render]
aspect=true
scaler=hardware3x

[sdl]
windowresolution=1280x960
priority=higher,pause
output=openglnb
fullresolution=1280x1024
usescancodes=false

[mixer]
prebuffer=100

I had this on 5000 —definitely runs smoother with higher values. Switching from scaler=normal2x to scaler=hardware2x yield the larger improvement though.

Thanks for the pointers!

Max out speed before the south sloped road. It could earn you seconds.

Not sure which one you are referring to, but gaining speed early and keeping the car going is very important in this track. Twenty-seconds-important, at least for me.

Expected timeline of the month:

- Friker will rule the first 10-12 days of LT period (having enough time to post replays while I'm working/sleeping)
- Then suddenly Gutix appears with a damned strong lap, leading in the following 13-15 days.
- Gutix wins (+2 LTB), Friker overtakes me and so do Bonzai Joe, Alan Rotoi + all the other "anti-CTG commando" members

I think the strategy of all the relevant pipsqueaks will be based on favoring Friker in this battle.

So it's better to declare: I don't care about the final results (or do you think I would vote for keeping the EB as it is, if I'm really interested in overall results?)

The most important point seems to be the loop: depending on how much speed one has when... landing it, one can travel a more straight route by jumping stuff that would slow the Skyline down. Have a lot of speed after the loop and you are almost guaranteed a high speed at the banked road.

Speed that I can then waste at the highway corner, of course :)

Perhaps I'll race, perhaps I won't be so crap. But now the is a minor question. The thing I want to tell is something different:

Z45 is not for Stunts. Stunts - start, accelarate, brake, curves, tricks, loops, enjoyable game. Z45 - suffering, RH, impossible to stay on the road without RH. This is simply replay editing, time wasting, pressing 'Esc' in every ten seconds. This track is CRAP - sorry Zak, but I don't want to lie. I think this is far the shittiest track I have ever seen. I don't want to hurt you, you know I liked Z44 and most of your tracks, but this one made me nervous, disappointed and sad. I hope this is the last time I feel that about a Stunts track...  :?

Quote from: CTG on January 30, 2012, 06:08:18 PM
The most disgusting Stunts cry from me. And the sweetest victory against the other crymachine. ;D

It really reminds me on this... :D

And I know that you will will win, even if I push harder than expected. When somebody has the free time, the talent and the extra motivation together, he will win for sure - like I did 8 years ago.

Duplode, why are you watching this topic? :P

Something like this... Half an hour ago I was having a glance at the track previews at ZakStunts' "Tracks" page. While there, I found it odd to see myself ranked third on the Z131 podium, so I clicked the results link. Doing so reminded me I was joint second alongside Gutix on that race. However, I was stuck by the track name, and checked Wikipedia to see whether it was an actual place name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colmar-Berg). Once doing so, I went to the race topic to see if there was any mention of that in the race thread. Being in the 2012 archives, I ended up opening a few other topics due to reflexive Wikipedia-esque browsing habits. And so I momentarily was at the Z137 topic right when you was peeping at Who's Online...

I leave it to the reader to decide what is more bizarre - my navigation route or the fact that I actually took the trouble to write it down and bore everyone with it...  :P
