Title: Indianapolis (Le Stunts, 2012-12-17)
Post by: CTG on December 10, 2012, 07:10:14 PM
Sometimes I think the lack of tracks is the reason for missing the race... :D

Nice track, I like to take the external ring to collect infinite penalty time.

Which car?

Too bad. But it's simply long for slower cars.

Tomorrow evening, usual time, Jaguar XJR IMSA - rules should be revised (quarter-lap checkpoints? crossing finish line?).

Sorry, I'll be "in transfer" on Sunday, between a couple of airports and train stations and buses. I should be arrived by evening, but I'll probably crash early.

Crash as in going to sleep, not in the race ;)

Against all odds, there was a race after all! Summarized results:

1. Duplode (7 laps, stopped at the large 180° near the beginning)
2. Chulk (7 laps, stopped just before the second tunnel in the main straight)
3. Friker (7 laps, stopped at the entrance of the pipe between the two tunnels in the main straight; with some penalty)

(Friker, "weak NoRH pipsqueak", "hates IMSA", etc.? Now we know the truth  ;D)

Let's get the live races rolling again, and race again ASAP, at a sane time if possible  :)

Final results:

Standings | pipsqueak | Laps finished | Tiles after last completed lap |
1.Duplode715
2.Chulk77
3.Friker*71
*Late post = some penalty

Lap times:

Lap | Duplode's total time | Duplode's lap time | Chulk's total time | Chulk's lap time | Friker's total time | Friker's lap time |
11:14,251:14,251:17,551:17,551:17,251:17,25

77:45,501:05,657:55,501:00,807:59,351:05,25

Congrats to the Chulk's fastest lap! :)

We have agreed that secs/tile is better metrics than "tiles after last lap" but I am so sleepy that I have no idea how to compute it, so Chulk/Duplode, pls clarify it.

First thing first, thanks for the timings! Now, to clarify and discuss:

Counting track tiles is a bit confusing, so describing the place where a .rpl ends is easier and clearer, using photo shoots in case race is tight.

About penalty (considering we are measuring distances and not time), the best is probably a tile penalty. Somewhat about a tile per second, after a 20s threshold. (if we decide to count tiles)
If not, maybe a time penalty ending the replay earlier. For instance, 20s penalty per minute late, so an 8 min replay is rewinded to 7:40 and measured there

What do you guys think?

It sounds acceptable.

(Sorry for leaving so early, I was incredibly tired.)

How come? And what's the half part?

I am needed here in my job and we would like the kids to spend more time with the family.
So agreed with my boss: we spend July + August and December + January + February in Hungary. The rest in China.

Too bad I was not able to join the race - was tempted by my wife to go to the cinema. Next time I will try to resist!
Btw. Cloud atlas is a great movie.

Even if it's at least a 4 years old track (slightly modified for Le Stunts), I have never tried it before, but last night I did. Based on the fact that my performance is always worse when we have a serious live contest instead of home racing, completing 7 laps and 0-5 tiles could have been a realistic result. Of course with pretty strong first three laps and shameful second part, like in all the cases.
