Title: Stunts as a browser game
Post by: JTK on June 14, 2017, 11:08:55 AM
Funny thing, KHR just coincidentally found this: https://archive.org/details/msdos_Stunts_1990  :D You just need to have the list of "security system" codes.

O hey, looks like I'm a little behind the times (http://forum.stunts.hu/index.php?topic=3423.0).  ;D

Great! I wonder if the online games are slower than "native" ones.

I think they just place an entire emulator in your temporary internet files and run the game from there. So there shouldn't be that much of a difference.

Your own copy saves all your work and can be modded, the online versions I think remember your highscores for the world to see, as long as that site keeps running that game. (Although I'm not actually sure, because that would probably require them to actually run the emulator on their server and send you the output. Hmmm... You could check if you can see Overdrijf holding the record on Default on that Classicreload version from the other topic?)

My computer is not the newest, and it's a bit laggy compared to running it in DosBox. Is a bit like Dosbox with the wrong settings, maybe there's some configuration somewhere that would help :)

You could try Ctrl+F12 a few times to up the simulation speed? Or were you already comparing them in that modus?

EDIT: Related to this, I noticed Dosbox is available for Android these days. Does anyone have any experience with that? Could Stunts on a phone work?

I think it might reset every now and then, because the record is again 1'36" :(
