Track name: Will Be One
Designer: afullo
Car: Pontiac Firebird TransAm
Start: 5th April 2021
Deadline: 11th April 2021, 23:59:59 GMT+2
Duels:
KyLiE vs Cas
dreadnaut vs CTG
Duplode vs afullo
Daniel3D vs Alan Rotoi
Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to design a track before midnight. The internal hard drive on one of my PCs is in a very bad shape and I have to reinstall the OS on an external one, waiting for a replacement. Maybe I can search for old tracks in some folders, is there an alternative ready in case I will found nothing interesting? Sorry... :(

As you wish. I think we can postpone the start by one or two days.
Yes, it'd be nice to wait for Afullo!
Maybe I will be able to post the track in one hour. Stay tuned...
EDIT: here it is. I designed it back in 2001, hope it fits with the car. Name: Will Be One (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbj3yqJ68Ns), because there is "todo en todos" (various track elements hastily alternating)... ;)
Thanks! Let's start.
Ouch, this one is quite long. A (k)nightmare!
First try, 2:38.15 ;)
KITT seems not to like the track designer. :)
2:27.25, probably my weakest published replay ever. KITT is not my friend.
2:07.65, still f*ckin' weak... :D
Hahhahaha this is such a cruel track for the Pontiac ;D But now I understand why Knight Rider was filmed in dry and warm countries. Keep that car away from ice!
2:19.60 - I was very lucky in the first minute of the replay. That part was all in one run and I think it's optimum. But the rest, I can do better
While I was also seriously spooked upon seeing the map, the track has a number of long straights, which make it less exhausting than its length might suggest. Below is a 1:55.35. Having gained a little familiarity at the R4K KITT race (http://www.raceforkicks.com/index.php?page=race&race=2021-03) which ended a few days ago has certainly helped. In any case, figuring out what to do with the KITT outside of asphalt is quite an adventure!
I have a hard time with this combo, haven't managed to finish the track or do a section well enough to save...
Kitt is not an easy car to learn manual shifting, and this track doesn't make it easier in my opinion.
For those higher up in the scoreboard this track/car combination might stir things up though.
2:19.80. Also dirt is not its favourite terrain. ::)
I stallin hate this car. Beautiful chasis and dashboard but the handling is shit. Seems unfinished. 2:26.65

I don't know if you have seen the comments about pursuit mode at Zapper's KITT thread. It is pretty much impossible to enjoy the car without taking it into account. That being so, here goes a primer on it.
The KITT has two modes of operation. Below ~6400 RPM, it behaves like a normal slow car. Above that lies the pursuit mode: extreme, Niva-like torque without any extra grip. Driving the KITT is primarily a matter of keeping (and taming!) the car at high RPMs so that awesome straight line performance is always at reach. For instance, the proper way of doing asphalt large corners with the KITT is in second gear at 100+ mph. That would be run-of-the-mill weren't it for the fearsome traction, which means you need a light touch on both throttle and steering when exiting corners in order to avoid spinning. (There is always the option of shifting up one gear to delay the onset of pursuit mode and then shifting down to engage it when it becomes convenient to do so, though that is likely to cost a few tenths every time it is done.)
Standings:
KyLiE | 2:01.20 | - | 2:19.60 | Cas |
dreadnaut | 2:03.95 | - | 2:07.65 | CTG |
Duplode | 1:51.85 | - | 2:19.80 | afullo |
Daniel3D | 3:13.85 | - | 2:26.65 | Alan Rotoi |
(Sorry for the late standings table - this week and probably also the next one is/will be extreme difficult for me.)

No I didn't. Imagine my frustration hahaha. I already did it and understand now. Interesting concept. :D Hard to apply in a game like stunts. I don't stallin hate it anymore ;D

Busy week-end here as well, unlikely to improve past this 2:03.95.
This car and track is not for me. ..
3:15 on the first time I actually reached the finish line.

Updating to 1:51.85
1:55.50 with the most annoying car in Stunts history... :o

Daniel3D, don't be so hard on yourself! We all have to start somewhere. CTG wasn't at the top of the scoreboard back in 2002 either. Remember that you're competing with people from all over the world and most importantly, have fun! Nice screenshot though! :)
I'm not hard on myself, i have a lot of fun racing (not so much last week 8) that was work)
As for the screenshot. That will be in my test/edited version of stunts until I change it..
But, I actually kind of like it,
maybe i change it to "tumbling' Daniel3D"
... Tumbling down the rabbit hole, still amazed by everything...
