Luckily, this bike is a work horse. It's quite slow (internal hub with 3 gears), heavy (steel), but needs only minor maintenance.

It does sound sturdy! I kept having to replace the v-brake pads, but I suppose city cycling at rush our it more start-and-stop. Anyway, they've lasted far longer this year, since I've been working from home :P

CTG, how does that work in terms of tires, brakes, and chains? How many have you replaced at this point? ;D

Can someone please give me a quick rundown of what I can expect?
We race on a looping track without going through the finish line, for a fixed amount of in-game (8m) or real-life (12m) time. The winner is the pipsqueak who has travelled further, counting laps first, and track tiles in case of draws. More info in the sticky thread.

At this point I would propose Saturday 19th, 11:00 to 12:00 GMT, which means:
  • Melbourne - Sat 22:00-23:00
  • Adelaide - Sat 21:30-22:30
  • Perth - Sat 19:00-20:00
  • Budapest / Rome - Sat 12:00-13:00
  • London - Sat 11:00-12:00
  • Rio de Janeiro - Sat 08:00-09:00
  • Buenos Aires - Sat 08:00-09:00
I have not prepared a track, happy to drive on any Overdrijf-experiment, or other. Take ownership, and post the track on Friday morning in this new thread :)

There are different options, but the best one seems to be "evening in Australia, morning in Europe and South America", which you can see in the attachment.

That could be Friday evening/Saturday morning, or Saturday evening/Sunday morning. A bit early for those in South America, or is it doable?

I'm in!  The 19th or 20th of December sounds good to me!

What's your timezone? We often race around 20:00GMT.

Nice! What do the dots mean? (One per three races in the season, perhaps?)
Yes, the dots represent season participation: 4 for a full season, then decreasing. I like how they look, but I might have to replace them with thinner, stacked bars, so that the whole thing can scale horizontally. Or not, we'll see :)

Something like this?
The current / past members are already on the teams page, but I can put more details on the new one, good idea!

Will it be possible to browse teams that no longer exist too?
Sure, they are already listed actually.

Now, I want to try and show the seasons won by a team. Any another numbers or events that would be interesting?

dreadnaut, that sounds good and makes sense.  When is the deadline to submit the track?  Should we just send it to you via PM?

The deadline is the day before it starts, but if I can get it a week earlier it makes my job easier ;D  Private messages don't support attachments, so track should be sent to me, @gmail.com.

Ah, trickier than expected. The "All results" page is new code, that loads a new and an old table. But to get the replays on the scoreboard, I need to convince older code to load the old and the data, which is not as straightforward.

It's probably time I move results to a new structure... it's been on my list for year but... "if it's not broken, don't fix it" they say.

Maybe squeeze in a quick final live race in the Christmas days just so we can say we did three of them this year?  ;)

19th or 20th of December? Who's in?

Before we continue: the list in the first post is missing ZCT234. (In particular, that presumably means CTG will want to switch months with afullo in order to keep ZCT241.)

Thanks for spotting that :-X  Top list corrected and updated!

If you're happy for me to design a track for ZCT236, then I can write the relevant article as well.

List updated, thank you both!

KyLiE, after fixing the missing track number, I put you down for ZCT235. That's assuming that both here and for the track you were thinking about "not-the-first" track. Let me know if you prefer a different one!

There are no hard limits on pretty much anything.

I can add some things that I keep in mind when reviewing tracks:

  • I aim at around 1'30" for a medium car, badly driven (it comes natural to me)
  • if the track is above 2'30", I'll shorten any boring straights; if that can't be done easily, I'll ask the designer to cut or reshuffle sections
  • GAR-ability is a nice-to-have; often you can add a longer path on the side of the un-GAR-able bits
  • most cars should be able to reach the finish line: always test with a slow car
  • if there are multiple ways, all should be competitive, at least at first look
  • keep it interesting!
