The non-existence of WTC became an adult.

Looking for reasons to feel old? 'cause I feel old already, mind you :P

I've updated the link in the Forum directory :)

I have bookmarked this discussion, because it's quite interesting: I never thought of the "designer's points" as temporary, applied only for one race, but it makes a lot of sense. The ability to change coefficient for future races is also a kind of feature, but it's a bit of an "abuse of power", and I wouldn't feel to bad about removing it.

For the moment, I returned points to the Indy and the Ranger. But I'd like to discuss this as a rule change for next year, it sounds fun :)

Ouch  :( I have to figure out what I'm gonna do with my Mercurial repos -- there are links to Cartography out there in the wild...

Maybe you could convert the repository to Git, and then re-upload it on BitBucket with the same name?

I have been working on a new version of the php library. It's 90% finished, but a few months ago I published it without annoucing it :)

Seeing that Bitbucket is removing Mercurial support in the next months, I'm going to delete the old repository.

A small quirk in the records: the race just after this one, Z170, was the first to have automatic replay package creation, which happens after the deadline, and packs each track with its replays. Before that, the zip file would be assembled by the start of the race, and replays for the previous track would be packaged with the current track. This change meant the Z169 replays hadn't been included neither in the Z169 package nor in the Z170 one. To rectify that, I have added the final Z169 laps (obtained through the All Results page) to a separate directory in the Z170 package.

Ah, I forgot about that! When I added the automatic zip packaging, I went back through the archives and generated the archives for previous races, but stopped at ZCT170. I meant to generate go back at least to 2008, eventually, but I never got around. Thanks for fixing the "boundary" !

I can imagine it being something rude, but what does it mean? :P

If you are looking for another free hosting, I have been on Altervista since 2003, and I'm more than happy. PHP, MySQL, FTP access, HTTPS, etc. Choose the plain hosting option.

Quote from: Cas on July 26, 2019, 01:24:01 AMI want to stop providing my personal information online.

On many positions one can have on privacy and internet, I think I am quite close to yours. I avoid social networks, I clear cookies every time I close the browser (and I close it probably every 30m), I restart my router to get different IP addresses... etc. — In part because of my education and the industry I work for, I have strong ideas on privacy.

However, I think there is a difference between throwing personal data at Facebook, and registering for a paid service with a small business. I don't think there is much difference between giving your information in a physical office, and sending it to the hosting company with whom you have a contract.

There are many ways to spread your personal data around on the internet, but it's important to understand how this can happen, and how to avoid high risk situation. But locking yourself in a room it's never a solution, the only thing it does is take away your freedom.

Is all the text bold? How would it work to use a regular weight, and hightlight sections with contrast? E.g. bold/regular or black / 80% black ?

Also, can I suggest InkScape?

By default, PHP sessions cookies expire when the browser is closed. You can set a different expiration date when you call session_start(). See this example.

"Cookie-less" sessions are automatic in PHP: if your browser refuses cookies, it will use a GET variable. We discussed this in relation to this Forum. See documentation

Using an IP address is not a valid authentication method. No, never. Not even if anything. Most providers use dynamic IP assignment, some of them use address translation (meaning that all their customers appear to have the same address), proxies exist. It's not that it is unsafe, it also doesn't work.

Forum section: yes, now!

As for the modified bonus system: I'm curious to see it in action.

So here we are, six month in. Time to validate our hypothesis.

In the first six races we had four podiums with two different cars, sometimes three different cars in the first six. Looking back at 2018, were most races were dominated by a single car, the difference is impressive.

We'll see how the second half of the season goes, but at the moment it seems a resounding success :)
