After the initial mistake, the new track is identical with ZCT22, first presented exactly 7 years before! Enjoy!

I thought such a topic would be usefule, we could share our ideas and best practices on how to manage sites.
I recently found the Google Chart API. It is stunningly easy way to produce charts and maps - much easier than the current javascript used on ZakStunts. I plan migrating soon and implementing various charts for the racver profiles by using this API:

I do not expect a battle between the cars this time - that will rather be the purpose of ZCT102. But I do hope you will enjoy the track.

I will be in Grenoble, France the next week Monday-Wednesday (work related travel)

Any chance of meeting a French pipsqueak? I know, the possibility for Krys/Alain to coincidentally travel to the other end of the country is as low as winning the lottery, but still, perhaps Oh and Italy is close as well

Lots of old pipsqueaks reappear lately. But thats not what I want to talk about.
I am cleaning the database for ZakStunts 8.0, as lots of pipsqueaks used different nicknames throughout different seasons and this has to be unified. (e.g. ayrton&Ayrton, alain&Alain il professore)

and it turned out that some of our newbies aren't newbies at all!

AMG (2008) = ...angelito... (2006-2007)
HTE (2009)= EdX (2007)
Firefoxie (2009) = phox (2007) = phoxetis (2004) !!!

Just as a funny fact. I'd rather not interfere with this season's newbie league, but I would like to uniformize these names for 2010 - including Mingva/Paradisio, if possible. I'd rather keep the stats of one pipsqueak under one name.

I spent 30 minutes with the track, but I thought it makes no sense to continue the replay without power gear after the first jump so no finished session for now.

Is starting from the truck allowed?

These are only plans right now, but I'd be happy to hear your comments.

No major changes will be done to the site design. I'll focus on functionality.
I plan to dismiss the top menu (the one with the years) and only have two options: current competition and archives.
I think it is already close to impossible, to effectively browse through the archives of the past 9 years. I want to make it easier, featuring dropdown lists containing every track from 2001-2009. You would be able to search tracks by date, by winner, by car and other parameters.

This is a very huge job, as right now each year I start the new season with new, completely empty database tables, and thus every year is in separate tables. I have to synchronize them together, and this is hard, as the rules and the database structure changed year by year. Hopefully I'll have time to do this (have to do it sooner or later), but initially I'd like to hear your opinions, what would improve usability for you, what functions you would like to have in the ZakStunts archives.

One thing is sure, not depending on whether I do the joint archives or not: starting from 2010 ZakStunts wont have separate tables for every year. I'll think of a way modifying data structure to allow using next years tables through a longer period of time.

If anyone is interested, there is an original Amiga 4D Sports driving pack on eBay UK with worldwide shipping. It is the same version that Bonzai Joe and I have. 6GBP including postage to Europe, I think it is worth it.
