The actual fact is not funny. Jokes about it are a different thing. I don't find Jew holocaust funny either, but jokes about them are.
I don't know, I guess it's just humor and nothing more. Same about joking with religion, death people, illnesses, alcoholics and such. I don't wish any bad for anybody (well... I might make some exceptions with our politicians), I just like laughing at whatever I find funny.
