I'm thinking about new ISA season. And I have some suggestions.
1. All road would be surrounded by water. So, if you'll leave the road you'll sink. In that case we could almost forget the rule "one wheel on/over the track". In real F1 races cars aren't disqualified if leaves accidently the road.
2. You must to drive all loop and cork distance. It's not allowed to do loop jump, drive on one side of cork.
3. Not allowed to use game bugs. Through block, cork's wall, etc.
4. Points system 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1, like will be in real F1.
5. Not sure: allow or disallow jumps over Stunts objects (corks, loops)?

btw, I'm searching assistants for ISA competition. Available works: reporter (post-race reports, interviews, etc.), statistician (rankings, pipsqueaks individual statistics, etc.), track designer (design beautiful and fun month tracks), web designer (not sure about this).

Rules 2 and 3 are already included. About the water:  The one advantage is that you don't have to look through all the replays. The disadvantages are that all track designers must use TrackBlaster, that you crash when you leave the road, which means it will take longer time to use replay handling, and which also means that people who drive without replay handling also have to start over, where before, they could just drive on with 1 sec penalty, if they accidentally left the road...

About jumping: if the idea is, as Juank23 says, to make this championship like Formula 1, jumping over obstacles should not be allowed. I think the corkscrew thing is a good idea. I'll consider if there are any of those "jobs" that I am capable of taking.

Good luck!
But we can't be quite sure.

I hope there will be an ISA 2k3 comp. Really.

Mingva : I think everybody can make tracks, send them to you/Pershing2/(anyone else working on ISA comp), and then ISA managers make their choice in this "pool" of tracks.
I made one already. And I hope I won't be alone.

For the new rules :
rule 1 : well, interesting. But I think it's not something I'd like to see every month. Water, always water...
rule 2 : include already, except for cork right/left. Must be included and strictly respected in 2k3 I think.
rule 3 : already included
rule 4 : good. I finished 7th 3 times last year. With this system I would have earned a few points, which is always a motivation for driving the next race.
rule 5 : I disagree. But track designers can make tracks without such a possibility.

Mings rules:
1. I disagree, with water you can still jump over it and stay out of the road. And if you go out the road and you know it you can go back with the replay system. If the road its sorrounded by water you sink and you must go back to the menu and press "view replay" button. If you use replay handling it will be more time used.

2. No complains Master of Orion.

3. I agree!

4. VERY AGREEEE IT MUST BE THE NEW SCORE SYSTEM! Great idea.

5. As you want..... When I think about a jump over a Corkscrew up/down I say "yes" allow it! but when I remember Roy's loop jump (believe me he jumped a loop and stayed over the track!!) I say "oh my god"... so do that you want to do.

It would be cool if there are reporters, track builders, web designers.... so now you only need people and motivatio, but you just have pipsqueaks that is  the most important ...

OK, rules then will be almost the same. I hope to prepare images to all situations. New changes will be point system and cork's situation. Few minor rules additions to Stunts elements can appear too. But... I think I won't use ISA name, and the competition I'll call "Indy Racing Cup". Some days ago I wrote a mail to PershingII about ISA future, but didn't receive an answer until now :(

I hope "Indy Racing Cup" will be on-line after 20 January. I'm still searching for assistans.

BonzaiJoe

Lol, then you can call it IRC :D
But we can't be quite sure.

Mingva

Yep, and to organize a live events every month on IRC  Firstly I wanted to name the competition "Indy Racing League" but this name is already reserved.

Mingva

Sorry, but new competition delayed for unlimited time :(

Mingva

Yep  Firstly I want to update team site. But you know, the main problem is lack of free time :(

Mingva

Important question about race calendar!

I don't know which decision to choose:
1) competition starts from 16th and ends on 15th day of the month (like it was last season);
2) competition starts on current month's first monday (e.g., in Feb it would be 3rd) and ends after 3 weeks on Sunday (e.g., in Feb it would be 23rd). In that case competition would be 3 weeks long, and last week (in some months more than week) would be for rest, racing in other competitions, to me - for site update, writing reports, etc.

Waiting comments :!:

Vote 1, 'cause many competitions ends in the end of month (Stunts LOL, for example, ends in the last saturday of month [the first track ends in rhe first march's saturday])....
