french pre-meeting
« on: April 30, 2005, 11:22:32 PM »
hi

i plan to attend the world air show in le bourget on the 17-20 of june 2005. I am on the verge of buying the train tickets. as trilbardou is 30kms away from le bourget, i guess i can sleep at krys? can i? if yes, i will be arriving at trilbardou on the friday 16 june at 18.00 gmt +1. I will be having a coffee at the village scummbar and ask for someone called krystoff in the vicinity. I will attend the air show and come back home in hendaye on monday 20 june.

if the trip is fun, perhaps i will do it again in july to go to hannover with krys and cut his car expenses by two on the trip. that could help.

June trip :
I'll ask my wife if she's ok to let you sleep home.
Where are you supposed to arrive with your train ? Easier for me would be Marne-la-Val?e / Chessy (TGV rail station), but I don't think you'll come with TGV from Hendaye...
Another question : how do you plan to go to Le Bourget from Trilbardou every day ?

July Stunts meeting :
Dividing the car expense by 2 is a good idea for me as I'm quite short of money at the moment...

in fact my sister will find me the tickets and i will order them on internet long time before the trip to get a large discount. but if your woman is not agreeing with the stupid idea of a schizo sleeping at home, i will understand it and i will manage to get a hotel night with 50% discount (train + hotel solutions from sncf...) and i can always visit you... because i will travel with the love of my life... MY BIKE. bringing a bike on the train is free. it needs to be packed with a bike pack.

trilbardou lebourget = 30km. one hour and a half. trilbardou montparnasse=53kms. two hours and a half. on a bike.

i hope we can do it.

is it officially free this way, or this is just some kind of a workaround what we use here (wheels off the bike, and carry it as luggage)?

i slept in a tent in the vicinity of Le bourget airport, and had a lifetime experience. some of the 150 pictures i took are available on my blog. one hour and twelve minutes of pure happiness are grabbed on my sony camescope... i slept real well on my own, and i really enjoyed the week end better than if i went to a hotel or a real camping zone, which are not available in paris area...

i am looking forward to farnborough 2006.

My mother works at EuroCopter (called Aerospatiale Helicopters before merging with german copters manufacturer) and I went often at Le Bourget air show or the museum when I was young.
But I never went to Farnborough air show.

they told about a 75 euro night in paris... average! well, my personal experience was a minimum 130 euros hotel night near the airport... i was also happy to whistle and insult DE VILLEPIN and three ministers with the crowd. they dont show the people insulting the ministers on TV... in real life, our government is the most hated ever... i can tell people almost throw them glass bottles when they were visiting the rafale.

it was the most visited edition with the less number of interesting modern warplanes... only one flanker. the 305 jockeyed by serguei bogdan, who got real radio problems on the way to le bourget. on the 8th of june he needed to be escorted by a mirage 2000 to find his way... there is a real crisis in russian army...
