So the cheapest beer in Norway is about 12 times as expensive as in Hungary or Argentina.
But Norway is actually the most expensive country in the world (or Iceland?), so no wonder.

The cheapest beer in Denmark is 2+1 DKK, about $0,50 for 330ml. Still so much cheaper than Norway...
But we can't be quite sure.

BREAKING NEWS:

Yesterday I discovered a much more cheaper beer! Bonzai Joe, do you know Odin Pilsner? As I've seen on the label, it's produced by a Danish company in Norway... and it costs only 8,70 NOK/0,33 l!!! Let's hope it isn't the Schlossm?hle of Norway... Well, maybe the biggest discovery was the supermarket, because neither Rogaland Pils was more expensive than 10,50 NOK/0,33 l there. And a very surprising thing: the 1,25 l bottle of Odin Pilsner was 44 NOK. Why is it cheaper to buy the same amount of beer in many smaller bottles?

How news: after the silent months I'm testing new beers again. Let's start with something special from Belgium!

Scaldis Ambree (BEL, 12 % alcohol, 559 HUF/0.25 l): brand is advertised as the strongest beer of Belgium. I believe it. It tastes like a good beer mixed with whisky. I never thought before but now I say: there is an upper limit of alcohol content, over this it's getting worse and worse. 12 is too much... But still a tasteful one. Mark: 7/10

Next test: Kasteel Bruin (another strong belgian...)

By the way some of my beer rankings are missing from the forum, I'll look up the MSN logs to paste them here.

29 Feb 2008. :)
But it was crappy, only slightly better than Arany ?szok. So it doesn't deserve more than 4/10.

Kasteel Bruin (BEL, 11% alcohol, 579 HUF/0.33 l): the other strong beer I bought yesterday. Result is totally different - this dark beer is almost the best I've ever tried! Full, high quality dark beer taste, beautiful color, maybe a bit (but only a bit) too strong. No doubt, it deserves a great mark.

I give 9.5 pts from 10.

White beer or not, surprisingly good: Ilzer 7/10 (much better than Edelweiss - 3.5/10, but weaker than L?wenweisse, which is rated 9/10 at the moment).

Ilzer white beer after seeing Akoss' test: too sour but still a drinkable one. But it's really better than Edelweiss. Mark: 4.5/10

Two new NA beers:

Clausthaler - beerish water, no real fun to drink. It's not bad either - as refreshing drink. Mark: 3/10

Arany ?szok alkoholmentes - big surprise for me, it's better than some better brand's NA beer. Still not the best... Mark: 3.5/10

Finally... I've just finished a medicine, now I could drink again. My Sturovo/P?rk?ny trip was quite useful seeing the results:

Corgon - typical quality Czechslovakian beer, quite bitter but very tasteful. Mark: 7.5/10

Smadny Mnich - it was a bit tasteless after Corgon but I enjoyed the way it killed my thirst. No doubt, it's a summer festival beer. Mark: 6/10

Saris dark beer - poor alcohol content but a very special new taste for me. I enjoyed every ccm of this beer but I still prefer the stronger types. Mark: 8/10

Beer testing next time (I didn't want to try more than 3 newbies this evening): Starobrno, Gambrinus.

CTG

Whoops I just remember: Gambrinus won't be newbie.

CTG

One more newbie, I was thirsty: Starobrno. Average weaker beer, nothing makes me remember the taste. Mark: 3.5/10.

Last night was cruel (never drink strong Serbian wine, especially not before and after beer testing...), I got really drunk after a long silence. My liver is in powergear now. :(
