About the two ways: they are too obvious. The five tunnels form a track and the question is which direction of this track is better (left or straight at the beginning).

Before CTG draws the map with ASCII  ;) let me ask Krys: are we allowed to eventually pass a checpoint twice?

Sure, or 3 times, or 4 times, or even more if you like. :D
Goal is to pass all checkpoints at least once, the rest is up to you. ;)
