I'm not counting the areas where I've been only during a flight, above the ground some thousand meters (otherwise, Greenland would be a nice NORTH RECORD).

Wow, the good old Akoss Poo in the USA. :) Congratulations for the new records!

I hope to break my north record within a year (on the ground). Other directions can wait.

Thanks! I hope I can beat the East record this year, there might be a possibility to travel to Transylvania this year (conference/hiking group/sightseeing tourist group... any case would suit me). (Croatian trip - Plitvice Lakes National Park) is fix in May for a weekend, but that won't mean any record.)

North record on ground... where?

BÖFF!!!

After finishing PhD, international job hunting will begin. My main targets are Scandinavian countries, so in case I succeed, I will definitely visit the northern part of the country. By the way, I would rather not estimate my chance.

One 'coordinate' is still missing: the highest elevation reached (by foot).

My personal record was broken on 8th this month, it's 2 024 m now (Chopok, Lower Tatras / Carpathian Mountains, Slovakia).

Of course it wasn't climbed from sea level.  ;D But a very-very steep and rocky mountain it was (+snow +fog).

I know why I still haven't posted my coordinate extremes. Maybe because they are extremely close to eachother.

It's still the same, shameful.

North: 50°05' N, 19°57' E (Krakow, Poland)
South: 45°14' N, 19°51' E (Novi Sad, Serbia)
East: 47°50' N, 22°08' E (Nyírbátor, Hungary)
West: 47°39' N, 13°05' E (between Hintereben in Germany and Heilbad Dürrnberg in Austria)

Altitude: 1315 m (start of bobsleigh track in Heilbad Dürrnberg)

Hmmm probably you are right. I remember that Argammon said "impossible" values, as I expected it from him. Mouthkarate... ;D

Eastern record was set in early April:

47°8?0?N 24°30?0?E - Bistrita, Romania

if everything goes fine, it will be beaten in October (Turkey).

This month the South record can be beaten as well (Los Angeles).

A company meeting and geological field trip in South Portugal is planned for September; chance for breaking my South and West records.

well.. that Italy (a tournament), CZE (2 times) and one Hungary trips were my only ones abroad up to date (hmm.. ok and three times at AUT near my home location at tournaments). ok, I cross the state border quite often, but it doesn't count (kayaking at the Danube river and the Morava river and the AUT-HUN-SVK border point and our ..ehm.. super cool new bridge over the Morava river). :)
