ZCT101 - Arrow Apex
« on: October 30, 2009, 11:49:18 PM »
the new track is done.
I do not expect a battle between the cars this time - that will rather be the purpose of ZCT102. But I do hope you will enjoy the track.

Z101 Analysis
« Reply #3 on: December 04, 2009, 02:19:39 PM »
Kind of like Z88 last year, this one was a race that, even if nobody was paying much attention to, had some great on track action. Here is a Top 6 analysis with lots of overtaking... highlights:
  • As expected, sector 3 (the big cut on the first dual-way bit) set the top 6 apart from the other pipsqueaks.
  • I lost the race at sector 4 due to lack of patience to find the proper line and thus braking way too early before the bridge corner...
  • From a different perspective, Renato won the race at sector 8, with a frighteningly fast entry on the cork l/r set, giving him an advantage of exactly... 0.15s, thus nullifying my efforts to cover the gap with a very fast loop/bridge dual-way cut (sectot 5).
  • Gutix would be even closer to top 2 weren't it for a not very smooth sector 5, which caused him to brake earlier. Later on, he managed to get ahead of Paradisio with a very short loop jump on the final sector.
  • Finally, Rotoi's line on sector 8, while not particularly effective, is great to watch!
