What is a river basin anyway?
It's the land surface the river itself and the smaller rivers, creaks, streams, snow and such that feed the main river, all the way to it's final "deposit". Something like this (Couldn't find a better pic on google, just a 2 min search anyway)

13. Average number of “componentes” (i.e. people in costumes dancing or playing instruments) per samba school (main group only) at the Rio de Janeiro carnival parade in 2009.
4264. Times twelve schools, that gives about 51,000 people parading during two nights.

1500 - Chulk
577 - Friker
345 - Zak McKracken
66 - CTG
52 - Usrin
40 - Alan Rotoi
23.5 - Akoss Poo
18 - Bonzai Joe
It's amazing how far we all were on the question. I guess it was harder for European people who don't have carnival parades, but I was really shocked by Alan's tip. Even here samba schools have more than 100 each...

It's because I hate Samba and I hate Carnibal and I hate Murga and all it represents :D

Anyway I love the 1st question kind. I though about the whole empire, not the city of Rome only.

My elephant tip was 1 200 (instead of 974 000), but it doesn't count anything...

Where the hell did I get that number from? :-X Post with the results corrected, sorry!

Hey, 974 000 was my tip! Btw, you haven't got it from the hell; I don't go there nowadays, because trains can be delayed and the transfer is not guaranteed.

Aha! Now it is clear: I misread the Excel chart which I used for compiling the results. How embarrassing  :) Fixed again!

Because it represents for me decadence, poorness and sadness.

ok, I could not get to compile the questions tonight as the update took my time - hopefully within a few days. BTW, Usrin still owes us a set of questions for the shared win, so Usrin if you have them, feel free to take this round.

Thanks, I would be glad to give you a set of questions. They'll be here on Monday (4 Mar).
