Is there a need for restrictions to avoid unashamed shortcuts?

Yes, "two-tiles" shortcuts kill the dual-way tracks

I voted yes, this race would be very boring with the two tile trick.

I am unsure however on how the restriction would work, whether it would disallow "reversing along the track after a junction", or any dual-way switch on the track.

The best solution is to avoid dual-way parts in the first third of the tracks.
