Should we declare such an unwritten rule (or advice) for track designers? Unfortunately both Zak and me used to fall in the same mistake every year...

That was exactly my thought. If dual-way switching is banned on this track, it should only be a 'special rule' for only this track.

Of course, dual-way switching is part of Stunts. That, however, shouldn't mean we have to lose good non-switching dual-way tracks like Z127 and Z146. There is no general solution to this issue - for instance, I speculated about the possibility of having a rule such as "it is forbidden to drive in the wrong way through the shared sector (i.e. the one with the start/finish line) to dual-way switch)"; under a strict interpretation, however, that would make my Z79 lap illegal, not to mention it wouldn't affect many of the problematic cuts in the tracks we are discussing.

Maybe as a warning - "This track may require ad hoc rule changes"  If we could modify the pathfinding routines, the pipe dream would be an option to add penalty time when dual-way switching, turned off by default.

So, who will choose the straight way? It's clearly the fastest, if you can do the banked road - hillside - cork up/down part without 18 seconds penalty.
