Have they changes in the years?

The code points to 0.10 ? 0.01, but in earlier seasons there are strange numbers like 0.11, 0.17, etc.

Probably yes (based on the overall number of participants), but I can't remember the old pointsystems. :-\ It should be simplified somehow, if it doesn't have an effect on the final rankings in each seasons.

Yep, I'm trying to clean up the code and collect all data about seasons, but I'm afraid that if I change how fractional points work, the past seasons' results might change —mostly at the bottom of the scoreboards, but still.

yes it has changed according to the number of participants. Earlier the rule was that the last pipsqueak on the track with most pipsqueaks still received 0.01. Now it is fixed from 0.10 downwards.

Argh, so back then points might have changed during the season, if a track had more participants than others?

Do you remember which seasons worked this way?  At the moment I have

2004 ? 20, 16, 14 ..., nothing below 1
2005 ? 12, 11, ... "fractional points" below 1
2006 ? 15, 14, ... "fractional points" below 1
2007, the same
2008 ? 12, 11 ... "fractional points" below 1
after 2008, nothing seems to change

Lucky you, 2001-2003 were even more complicated. :D

Eyeballing the season scoreboards taking into account Zak's explanation, we get:

  • 2005: Fractional points from 0.18 down, with 0.01 given to pipsqueaks at 30th and below (cf. Z55).
  • 2006: Fractional points from 0.11 down (cf. Z63).
  • 2007: Doesn't matter; no race had more than 15 pipsqueaks.
  • 2008: The current system; fractional points from 0.1 down, up to 22th. Z100 is the only race since then to have had more than 22 pipsqueaks; it is not clear, however, whether Lene has received 0.01 point for her 23rd place - there seems to be a glitch in the season scoreboard.

Other possibly relevant info would include bonuses (LTB, EB and, in 2004, something called TDB), the number of discarded race results per season and the rules affecting the team scoreboards. On the bright side, at least we do not have to deal with the 2003 rules right now  :)

P.S.: In your ini file, the 2008 car list should be [ANSX,AUDI,VETT,FGTO,JAGU,COUN,LM02,LANC,P962,PC04,PMIN]. Custom cars were (re)introduced to ZakStunts only in 2009.
