At this point, I'd say there simply aren't objective grounds to dispute or begrudge Hamilton's greatness, and I don't think it's my fanboyism speaking here. He should be, at the very least, a strong candidate to any all-time top 5 greats list.

but I still have a lot of respect for David Coulthard when he downplayed is helicopter crash injury so he wouldn't miss the race.
Then became second with three broken ribs..

Somehow I stopped paying attention to F1 in the early 00s though, and most names I remember are probably from the 90s ;D
