A very interesting Stunts v1.1 bug

Today I discovered a bug in Stunts v1.1 (Broderbund), and I decided to save the replay and share it with all of you guys
The first half is a normal race, the second half is power gear, but the ending...

I remember this bug (flying up high in a near straight up line, coming back down and crashing) from playing as a kid. I think the launches mostly involved bumping into things, but it's honestly too long ago to be sure.
