Question:
An official monthly race needs at least...
Option 1: 2 pipsqueaks
votes: 2
Option 2: 3 pipsqueaks
votes: 1
Option 3: 4 pipsqueaks
votes: 2
Option 4: 5 pipsqueaks
votes: 3
I must start with an important question. I do the racing stats for ages and I met some races from certain championships with 1 or 2 pipsqueaks. As you know there's an overall medal table of all championships. I don't want to delete these races totally but I want to remove them from rankings list. Do you agree with this? What's the minimal number of pipsqueaks when we can call it an official race? Let's vote!
Two people compting in a race - to me that's a race (also 1 pipsqueak against clock is a race...).
Well, since it's just a medal table, and not a list of who are the best pipsqueaks, I think it doesn't matter so much how many pipsqueaks participated in the races.
Ok, one pipsqueak against the clock = a race.
BUT : medal table needs at least 3 pipsqueaks, else there would be more gold medals than bronze medals. This would be strange.
And an interesting race needs at least 4 pipsqueaks, like snowboard cross finals at Olympic winter games. If all pipsqueaks are sure to get a medal, there's less interest. At least one must fall in order to give importance to the podium.
I agree with Krys Toff.
The grammatical definition of race should be independent of what we are trying to do here :)
And any competition with less than 4/5 pipsqueaks can't be taken seriously.
At least if it is an internet world wide competition which is compared to Kalpen, zakstunts and the like.
Another point is that I would stay away from mixing several competitions into 1 rankinglist. For example if I would win 5 races in stunts-lol that's still a lot easier than to win 1 race in zakstunts.
Maybe even a Zakstunts top 5 place is more prestigious and harder to archieve than a stuntslol victory...
My point of view is similar to Argammon and Krys. I voted for 3 pipsqueaks but it was a hard decision between 3/4. I'll keep even the one pipsqueak contests in NUMBER OF RACES stats, because that pipsqueak took the time and drove the track. He deserves that extra race. But in medal table stats we need more pipsqueaks, at least 3 or 4.
To disagree a bit with Argie: there were some (not too much, maybe three) races in Stunts LOL having higher level than early ZSC races with Fdrzieva. But in general you are totally right. :) That's why I count all the championships in separate medal table too.
Let's take an example: Formula 1 2005 - USA.
On the starting grid, six cars - it was a shame, and nobody could say anything serious about the race. Our TV commentators just laughed and said after three laps, "we will not comment that race, it's to senseless".
So every medal has it's own story, worth and price. But to start analyzing it, that would be impossible. Is a 2nd place with 20 competitors more worth than a victory with only 6 pipsqueaks? We can't really tell.
But what we can do is - if two pipsqueaks have the same number of gold medals, let's say 1, then both 3 silver and 2 bronze (so an equal points at the medal table), the pipsqueak with a gold medal who won in a race with more competitors should be better placed that a pipsqueak who won his gold in a race with 4 pipsqueaks.
Mislav I think your analogy is not 100% correct ;-)
For example imagine that next month for whatever reason we will only have 6 pipsqueaks in Zakstunts, which is the strongest stunts competition nowadays. That's analogous to the formula 1 situation you described.
And now imagine I would take some local Cart-race championship and add it's podiums to the podiums of the formula 1 drivers.
So yes I can tell which competition is strong and which is not.
And it's not only dependent on the number of pipsqueaks of course.
CTG,you can't compare.
With the (maybe) exception the older ZCT races where made without 'advanced replay handling'
That doesn't change the fact that in the early days Kalpen was the strongest competition and not ZCT!
But I think comparing stunts LOL 2005 ?? to zakstunts 2000 is .... ;-)

I compared the names.
Argi, maybe we didn't understand each other - I also think that ZakStunts medals are harder to win (achieve? is that the right word?) than any other, so it's sensless to put all medals in one scoreboard.
If we really wanted that all medals count the same, we should have every time the same number of pipsqueaks and even better, the same pipsqueaks (like Formula 1)...and only one and only championship... but that is impossible...and by the way, that would suck... :)
Excuse me, but isn't this supposed be a medal table, and not a world-ranking-list? Let's keep them separated. Medal tables don't have to have the absolutely best pipsqueak on top.
Excuse accepted :D joking ;)
Ok well I see your point Jacky but there's always a limit :)
Even a medal table should make at least 'a bit' sense. If the difference between 2 competitions is to large they shouldn't be thrown together IMO.
You could argue that the medal table is totally irrelevant anyways and right are you :)

Comparing the value of medals? Watch the Olympic Games: golden medal of basketball tournament is equal to skeet shooting victory on the medal table...
CTG: in the latest version of Statistics, WSC Round 6 (Pizza) results were not included as Paleke was, due to technical issues, unable to update the site. Official results were published on the forum, though (here (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/foro/index.php?topic=22.15), although it is unreacheable currently due to further computer trouble). The standings were: Mark, Duplode, AbuRaf, Krys and Paleke. And BTW, for anyone interested in IRC, Round 7 (Emoci?n, penned by Mark) deadlines this week... 8).
I had no time to update stats for ages. Later.
Damn, I haven't updated WSC results for ages (since Gazpacho I guess). WSC site contains only the results of the last 4 tracks (The Maze, Tateti, Naval, Cinema Show) and the overall ranking table as was in 2007. Could somebody please send me the rankings of each races since Gazpacho + the all the secondary races? Only the rankings are imporant, no need for time results. Thanks in advance! ;)
I'm also going to add JACS to the stats but it seems to be a mess for me as nicks are changing in the different scoreboards (not always racing under Stunts nick but the real name)...
New XLS will be opened for the noRH races (FTT, SDR's secondary), not included in the general statistics - I think it requires separated stats.

WSC doesn't stored past results, the only way to know them is unzipping all the files you find in the site that containing the replays and then, with big patience, check them. Moreover, there are only the first 5 times and not all the replays.
But if you want only to get data about all the participants and the first three positions, maybe the attached images could help you to recover something. They reports WSC races since 30 May 2006 until 18 Nov 2007.

Missing races scoreboards attached - JACStunts season 3 rounds 9 to 14 and WSC '07 rounds 9 and 10 (not covered by latest SWR update). CTG: Since I would have to quote both of our PMs in order to reply here properly, I PMed you the further comment/reply instead.

I can only repeat myself: thank you! :)
NoRH stats are ready and now
only WSC secondary races are missing from the RH Excel file. It will need some selection of primary/secondary track names as I wrote them in the stats only from WSC rankings summary table (without names) before Fangio track - Mark, maybe you were participating all those secondary tracks, can you list their names please? Update to USC site: as soon as I have to upload new times for Arad. ;)
I'm thinking on Stunts "yearbooks" with all the scoreboards of the certain years. Maybe we can add some commentary/memories to each races and also quote some typical messages from the Forum about the race. Quite a big project, I guess it won't become true - or at least not in the very close future...
What do you exactly mean saying "WSC secondary races" or "secondary tracks"? WSC '07 rounds 9 and 10 or other?

From organizing Competition Archive II I recall there were only four or so such tracks, which were created by guest designers and not by Paleke. IIRC, inside the 2006 track pack there is some .txt in Spanish telling which were the special tracks (I only do not check it now because I can't download files from wsc.ar.nu...)
If you check the first attached image in my previous comment, you'll see that there are 4 cases where WSC have two subsequent races.
- 4AM and GONZALEZ (4AM designed by CAS if I'm not wrong)
- RAIES and NACH1 (NACH1 designed by NACH)
- SPRINTER and REUTTMAN (SPRINTER designed by me)
- HOTROD and FANGIO (HOTROD designed by Krys)
They were races that had a bi-monthly interval contemporaneusly to the all other tracks with monthly freqeuncy.

That sounds really, really nice - if you/we define criteria for selection (3-4 quotes per race maybe, mixing original forum quotes from different parties as well as present-day reflections on some of the major battles, maybe?) I think we (all) could start collecting those at once in a leisurely and non-systematical pace, and sooner than later it would be complete. ;)
CTG: If you get to update the site tonight, you might as well, if possible, add the few remaining races missing from the Statistics: the final rounds of SDR-RH (Cuts, Funny, The Arenas and maybe Gate too, I don't recall exactly) and the first three rounds of current JACStunts season (I posted the results at the JACStunts topic on Stunts Chat).

Postponed... I'm still at the university (for 13 hours... :-\) and working for my usual "survivor" presentation (last minute measurements - hurry to save my job :D). It will be in 35 hours ---> sum 5-6 hours sleeping tonight+tomorrow night.

Useless stats are never really useless, you know... ;) Interesting to see that Corvette tracks (mostly non-PG around here) tend to be similarly very slow (IIRC the hellish design of Akoss that was active by the time I joined, Gÿongÿos, would not be too far from the bottom 5 on the speed ranking). And BTW Dobsina will soon be another Akoss track very high on the duration ranking... And just one small thing, CTG: a few SDR-RH races (the final three from 2007) weren't included in your latest update.

2003: quite a bi-polar contest between Bonzai Joe and Alain - how strange they had no real battles in single races: BJ dominated the first few races and the end of the season + weak performance "bulk" phase of the competition - exactly when Alain won 5 races in a row.
2004/05: another bi-polar competition (Gutix vs Akoss Poo) excluding the last few races. Gutix usually won by a large gap, while Akoss (and the improving CTG) could make only smaller gaps at the top.
2005/06: quiet and balanced season without motivated top pipsqueaks but very active "unskilled" ;) drivers in the first half (Renato and Mark appeared only in the second part) - that's how it became so tight between Dottore, Krys, CTG and Usrin.
2006/07: huge battles at the top (Dottore, CTG, Krys Toff, CTG) spiced with some top dog victories (Bonzai Joe, Renato Biker, Mark L. Rivers). Very tight season in time results.
2007/08: flying Hungarians, Mark's and Argammon's great performance in the middle of the season and an impressive evolution of Duplode (2 victories!) made it the most interesting season so far.

I like to make non-PG tracks for that car, the two other Corvette races were also quite slow: Gyöngyös 110 mph, Veszprém 114 mph. Apropo, it would be interesting to see the track stats to, especially the right-left corner balance... :D

Strange fact: we had no pipsqueaks from the following countries with population over 40,000,000:
China
Pakistan
Bangladesh
Nigeria
Japan
Philippines
Vietnam
Ethiopia
Egypt
Iran
Thailand
Congo
Myanmar
South Korea
South Africa
Ukraine
Tanzania
most surprising with bold...
It is also surprising how very few pipsqueaks there have been from USA. Even from UK, I only remember one (Arishthrottle).
So here is the list of RH pipsqueaks ever finishing at least a single race (Z92 newbies aren't there yet)... ;) Unknown origin is signed with X.

Additionnal question : how many of them are CTG's ghosts ? ;D
The map... ;)
You forgot BlueFret (DEN), who finished CT5 in Charles' competition.

I don't have the official results of CT races so they are excluded from the stats...
Eric is from USA. (a.k.a. Eric Rucker). And of course many on the list are obvious ghosts... But impressive list all the same! Funny that there haven't been any pipsqueaks from Paraguay...

I guess there was in 4DSL but Rotoi lost the files before I could add them to the database... :-\
But then where are all those unknown SA pipsqueaks from, if not 4DSL?

From the first season of 4DSL... the later races with Dark Chaser's dominance are lost.
Easy victory for Argentina in those stats! I didn't think Argentina would be on top...

Dragonfly was from USA too... No, wait, he was Hungarian. ;D
I did not remove the ghosts... :D
I think Stunts GrimReaper was a ghost too, so it means GBR should not be colored in red.
Funny to see that my family represent 37.5% of French drivers (3 of 8 drivers). :D

But there are a few pipsqueaks from ENG and SCO, GrimReaper was identified only as a pipsqueak from GBR...

Oh, right, I didn't verified that. ;D
I think I can find back the standings of the 2 seasons of 4DSL in case you want to adjust your pipsqueaks' list.
Just a recommendation to be applied in the future when/if the Historic Statistics get updated: when accounting race caps for drivers in Southern Cross, please do include any pipsqueaks I eventually disqualify for rule violations (unless in cases of, God forbid, blatant cheating of course). Especially in case of "minor" violations I feel it is sort of unfair to disregard the race participation altogether. I will keep DQ'ed drivers enlisted on my final scoreboards for reference anyway.

Bad news for you, these stats won't be updated as long as USC is inactive. Also having some trouble with internet connection these weeks. Maybe later...
Ouch, so long time without an update... I wonder if Krys is still leading in overall number of races (AbuRaf and I should be close to him in this category).
Hmmm... it seems there's a strange balance of cars in USC (both Indy and P962 numbers will increase in 2013):
15 - Porsche March Indy
8 - Chevrolet Corvette / Porsche 962 IMSA
7 - Jaguar XJR IMSA / Melange XGT-88
6.5 - Acura NSX / Audi Quattro (the half: you could use both on Munkács track in 2008/09, maybe it should be considered as a full race)
6 - Lancia Delta Integrale / Lamborghini Countach
3 - Ferrari GTO / Skoda Felicia ::)
1 - Knight Rider / Lada Niva Comeback / Porsche Carrera
0 - Lamborghini LM002 ;D

No. :-)
4 newbies anyway... but... I'll evaluate only tomorrow.
(there are 10 or 11 new beer brands in Interspar)
