Some info as a preview for today's match.
Argentina leads globally over Germany 7-5 and 5 draws with 24GF and 23 GA.
Playing in Germany, Argentina also leads 3-2 and 3 draws.
The only match played in Munich (1973) Argentina won 3-2
On WC: Ger 3-1 (Sweden '58); 0-0 (England '66); Arg 3-2 (Mexico '86) where Argentina was World Champion; Ger 1-0 (Italy '90) where Germany was World Champion and 1-1 (Germany '06) where Ger won 5-3 in PK.
It's usually a tight match. No victories for more than 2 goals in any match (3-1 twice for Ger and once for Arg) and never a team scored more than 3 times in a match.

A great game to watch this afternoon... DAMN IT I'LL BE AT WORK!!!!!!!!!

So, it's 8-5 after the match. Argentina played well, specially on first half scoring a great goal and having the best situations. On 2nd half, Germany put some pressure and got the ball but had only 1 clear shot on goal. Argentina defended well and got the victory.

You can watch best the goal here... this camera shows how Higuain moves to the open spot and Di Maria assists him perfectly to dribble the GK and score.

Since Italy won WC 2006, there's a conspiracy against Italy and Italian football teams. Gera, Hungarian midfielder played one of his best matches ever yesterday in Fulham, beating Juventus 4-1, sending them out.  :-\ :-X Of course the ref helped the English - who had a very lucky goal in the first match - with 2 Italian red cards and a penalty against Juve... FVCK OFF!!!  >:( >:( >:(

Spain, Brazil (...)

Brazil will get to the quarter-finals undefeated and with Julio César unbeaten. Then, we will fail due to lack of effective creative team play needed to get through strong teams with well-structured defences. That is, unless we meet Argentina in the quarters, then we'll win for sure  ;D

Post by: Chulk on March 29, 2010, 05:40:38 PM
This are my four, in order of chances they have to win and explaining why I consider them candidates.

1- Spain: The best Midfield of all, with Xabi Alonso, Xavi, Iniesta & Fabregas. Solid GK and defense and 2 killer forwards like Villa and Torres (though I think he sucks, the world does not)
2- Netherlands: The silent candidate. Nobody is really paying attention to them, but their eleven is the best they had for 25 years or so. Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Seedorf are great creating scoring chances for their forwards, we all know what Huuntelar, Kuyt and Babel can do and adding Robben and Van Persie, it's really a great team. Van der Sar is a fantastic GK as well, maybe their defense is their weakest point.
3- England: Great Midfield (Lampard, Gerard, Cole are great). Solid defense lead by Terry (hope he fucks every teammates wives so their realtion really sucks!), and a forward who is really on-fire (Rooney). They lack a trustfully GK and maybe their mood won't be the best having Owen and Beckham out injured.
4- Brazil is always a candidate, no matter if they are playing awfully. They have what here in Argentina people call 'Mistica'. That means they know how to play in those matches where the pressure is on, those days when the smallest mistake can lead to a loss and a journey back home. And they hardly make mistakes those days...

I'll add the surprise team (hopefully you will all do it). Chile is playing great football, solid defense, fast offensive, their team structure is on top form (Bielsa's teams structures always are). They know what to do, they know how to do it. It's easier to play when your teammates are always where they are expected to be, because that saves the man carring the ball the time he would lose looking for them, by having a mental image of where everybody is everytime.

Yesterday's second leg of the São Paulo State Championship final was the most spectacular football match I can remember since the Milan-Liverpool 2005 CL final. On one side, Santos (playing in white, for those who aren't familiar with Brazilian clubs) - a team driven by very talented youngsters which is (save for the occasional defensive blunder) many miles above any other Brazilian team right now. On the other side, Santo André, a minnow club with a pretty good squad and, above all, brave enough to play daring offensive football even against such dangerous opposition. First leg was a very balanced game that ended Santos 3-2; so Santo André needed to win by two goals (otherwise Santos would clinch the title due to having a better campaign in the preceding round-robin stage).

Highlights from the match are available in the link below (yes, 17 minutes long. You may need to click play twice in the embedded player for it to work)

http://video.globo.com/Videos/Player/Esportes/0,,GIM1256655-7824-MELHORES+MOMENTOS+SANTOS+X+SANTO+ANDRE+PELA+FINAL+DO+PAULISTAO,00.html (http://video.globo.com/Videos/Player/Esportes/0,,GIM1256655-7824-MELHORES+MOMENTOS+SANTOS+X+SANTO+ANDRE+PELA+FINAL+DO+PAULISTAO,00.html)

Note: As some of you might recall, I am not a Santos supporter. In fact, I'm actually proud that my team almost managed to scrape a draw playing one man down against them in the semi-finals, the game ending 4-3 (only for us getting trashed 3-0 in the away leg...)

Standings of NB II East

1. Dunakanyar-Vác    24    13    7    4    40–27    +13     46
2. Szolnoki MÁV FC    23    13    6    4    37–23    +14     45
3. DVSC-DEAC    23    13    4    6    44–22    +22     43
4. REAC    23    12    5    6    58–31    +27     41
5. Vecsési FC    23    10    7    6    34–22    +12     37
6. Mezökövesdi SE    23    10    6    7    33–31    +2     36
7. Makó FC    24    10    4    10    43–41    +2     34
8. Böcs KSC    23    8    10    5    28–25    +3     34
9. BKV Elöre SC    24    7    9    8    31–34    –3     30
10. MTK Budapest II    22    8    4    10    42–39    +3     28
11. Hajdúböszörményi TE    23    7    7    9    23–29    –6     28
12. Kazincbarcikai SC    23    6    5    12    27–47    –20     23
13. Restart-Ceglédi VSE    23    5    8    10    35–44    –9     23
14. Békéscsaba Frühwald SE    23    5    5    13    26–40    –14     20
15. Baktalórántháza VSE    22    1    3    18    20–66    –46     0

Now it seems only the 14th-15th place team will be relegated, according to the Hungarian sports pages (they mark only 14th-15th teams with different colors). If it's true, KBSC has a chance to avoid relegation to NB III Mátra Group (there are six groups in third division).

The financial problems seem to be fixed, after a miserable autumn, some players returned, and we have a much more decent spring performance.

Saturday's home match against Baktalórántháza is postponed to Wednesday, due to the extreme wet conditions. There was a heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in the town on Saturday afternoon.

Felipe Melo (Juventus),
Gilberto Silva (Panathinaikos),
Ramires (Benfica),
Elano (Galatasaray),
Kaká (Real Madrid),
Josué (Wolfsburg),
Julio Baptista (Roma),
Kleberson (Flamengo)

This midfield sucks, no way it can make for a World Cup winning squad.

Maybe some players from the Brazilian league? They all seem to come from semi-good European clubs.

The problem is that we lack midfielders with creativity and game vision to organize team play. Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo and Josué are strictly DMs (given how Gilberto Silva keeps himself away from any non-defensive duties I don't even feel like calling him a midfielder). Then we have two overrated wingers (Elano and Ramires - Daniel Alves should replace one of them in the starting eleven). Kleberson is slightly more of a CM, but he isn't a starter even in skiddin' Flamengo (which is definitley not a pool of talents or anything like that). The only player with genuine class and flair in this whole batch is Kaká, but even him is not a true commanding midifielder, but something much closer to a drawn-back forward. That Júlio Batista is his immediate sub merely confirms that.

A further reason for worries is that nearly all of the Brazilian top clubs suffer from the same problem, so it's not just Dunga's fault. If you look at the Brazilian league the only player who would naturally fit in this role is Paulo Henrique "Ganso" from Santos - but unfortunately for him Dunga spends way too much time preaching about "coherence" to have guts to call up any young prospect, even as a sub.

Anti-football is crowned in Europe... Mourinho showed how to kill the gameplay of great opponents, nothing else. If we check only the result, it was an incredible success.

I was also cheering for Bayern, but I think they played a bit too passively during the second half instead of using the power to react they displayed in the other games. As for Barcelona, IMO they just sucked, in both legs.

Actually, I think Sidebacks are the main problem (although it would all end up being coaches fault anyway). These are the official 23 members of Argentina's NT (In Bold those who are likely to start at WC)

GK
Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar, Hol) 23YO. He replaced Ustari in Beijing and won the Gold Medal
Mariano Andujar (Catania, Ita) 26YO. He was starter GK during knockout but lost his place to Romero after Brazil kicked our ass. (I know Dup will be smiling after reading this)
Diego Pozo (Colon Sta Fe, Arg) 32YO. A low profile GK, just to avoid having a problematic GK as the 3rd)

Defenders
Walter Samuel (Inter, Ita) 32YO. CB, Lefty. 1WC before, one of the most experienced of the defense.
Gabriel Heinze (Olympique Marseille, Fra) 32YO. Left CB or SB with no offensive projection. 1WC played.
Martín Demichelis (Bayern Munich, Ger) 29YO. Solid CB, good all round and really strong in aerial plays.
Ariel Garce (Colon Sta Fe, Arg) 30YO. He's there because God knows why. Can play as a CB or as a SB. He's not NT material so everybody is surprised for him being at SA 2010.
Nicolás Otamendi (Velez Sarsfield, Arg) 22YO. Normally CB but can be a purely defensive SB.
Nicolás Burdisso (Roma, Ita) 29YO. Can play any position in the defense, which makes him 1st sub for defensive purposes.
Clemente Rodriguez (Estudiantes, Arg) 28YO. The only real SB. Can play both sides of the field, really fast. Better attacking than in defensive tasks.

Mid-fielders
Juan Sebastián Verón (Estudiantes, Arg) 35YO. Well known OMF. The most experienced of Argentina's player and Coach inside the field
Javier Mascherano[/i] (Liverpool, Eng) 25YO. One of the best DMF. Probably Argentina's Captain
Jonás Gutierrez (Newcastle, Eng) 27YO. Really fast SMF. Can also play as a SB but it's not his best role.
Maximiliano Rodriguez (Liverpool, Eng) 29YO. SMF can play both sides. Good technic, not as fast as Di Maria or Gutierrez but more experienced. He scored a great goal against Mexico in Germany 2006.
Angel Di María (Benfica, Por) 22YO, Lefty. Great season, championship included. Very talented, fast SMF. Won Olympic gold at Beijing (I think someone would remember a goal he scored over the Keeper)
Mario Bolatti (Fiorentina, Ita) 25YO. Not playing that much in Fiore now, was the leader of last year's runner up in Argentina and scored the goal that qualyfied Argentina for WC against Uruguay in Uruguay.
Javier Pastore (Palermo, Ita) 20YO. OMF or drawn back FW. Only played for Argentina against Catalunya.

Forwards
Lionel Messi Who is this guy?!  ???
Carlos Tevez (Manchester City, Eng) 26YO. Really fighty player, always gives everything he has and fights for every ball around him. Great season with Manchester City.
Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid, Spa) 21YO. A hell of a player, can driver any defender nuts with his skills. Maradona's son in law.
Diego Milito (Inter, Ita) 30YO. Another great forward, Inter's top scorer. Gets to the WC in top form after winning 'Triple Crown' with Inter and scoring both goals in Champions League finals
Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid, Spa) 22YO. Great FW, shoots with both legs and has a great technic. Real Madrid top scorer last season (Eat that, Cristiano!)
Martín Palermo (Boca Jrs, Arg) 36YO. He has an outstanding 0.5 goals per game in his hole carrer (585 Matches, 292 Goals). He's Boca Jrs historical top scorer. Named best Header by FIFA in 2008.

So far it looks Argentina will play 4-3-1-2 or 3-4-1-2 with Gutierrez as Right MF and Veron playing as a CMF between Messi and Mascherano, to help both offensively and defensively at the center of the field.

                     Romero

Gutierrez - Demichelis - Samuel - Heinze

Veron - Mascherano - Di Maria

                      Messi

               Higuain - Tevez

The Danish squad for the World Cup has finally been published, and it contains very many players who have not played a big international tournament before. It's hard to predict how they will fare in the World Cup because there is definitely a "generation change" here.

GOALKEEPERS:
Thomas Sørensen (Stoke)
Stephan Andersen (Brøndby)
Jesper Christiansen (FC København)

DEFENDERS:
William Kvist (FC København)
Lars Jacobsen (Blackburn)
Simon Kjær (Palermo)
Per Krøldrup (Fiorentina)
Daniel Agger (Liverpool)  - very important player and one of the biggest stars on the team
Patrick Mtiliga (Malaga)  -  definitely the potential "weak link" of the starting 11. Plays in Primera Division, but is completely new on the national team.
Simon Poulsen (AZ Alkmaar)

MIDFIELD:
Martin Jørgensen (AGF) - he will get playing time, but he's too old to be among the starters.
Christian Poulsen (Juventus)
Daniel Jensen (Werder Bremen)
Jakob Poulsen (AGF)
Dennis Rommedahl (Ajax) - coach's pet. Nobody likes him except Morten Olsen. He runs really fast but that's just about the only thing he does.
Jesper Grønkjær (FC København)  - also a big name. We have many strong wings.
Thomas Kahlenberg (Wolfsburg)
Thomas Enevoldsen (Groningen)
Christian Eriksen (Ajax) - big comet, 18 yrs old, predicted to be the new Michael Laudrup
Mikkel Beckmann (Randers) - surprise

FORWARDS:
Jon Dahl Tomasson (Feyenoord)
Søren Larsen (Duisburg)
Nicklas Bendtner (Arsenal) - has to score our goals, and he is definitely really good, but not really a "striker".

Likely starting-11 (4-1-4-1)

                 Bendtner

Thank you :)  I forget - what is your relation to Denmark, considering your Danish last name? I think you explained 6 years ago.

By the way I also like Argentina and I hope you win, except if Denmark reaches the final ;)

Sorry Duplode  ;D By the way I also like Brazil, but I hope Argentina wins.

One reason: My grandfather was danish. I inherited the lastname

Another reason: When I saw the movie "Heroes" (World Cup of Mexico 86), I always remember the Denmark victory over  Uruguay by 6 to 1. The film showed Denmark as a great team. I was younger and how it was compiled the movie and the music caught me a lot :)

I see! Yes that was an interesting World Cup in 1986. And our first one. This is only our fourth.

By the way, do Messi and Higuain get along well? It's strange to imagine the stars of Barcelona and Real Madrid playing together.

I admit that Messi has great ability, but what showed in the selection so far I do not like. Do not know much about Higuain, but it seems more energic and less dribbling

I don't now personally if they get along or not (Rumor has it that Higuain more of a loner which tends to make him be hard to share time with). About what we all care about, Higuain and Messi are both the kind of player that can make a play on their own but that can also assist the other FW. If you pay attention when Messi has the ball, Higuain is constantly looking for the open spot (Which he does really great, BTW) and Messi is always paying attention to him, even if he ends up playing it on his own or to another teammate.

I think Argentina has a great offensive squad: Di Maria, Messi, Higuain, Tevez and Aguero can both make a difference one on one against any defender and can feed a teammate as well.
It's our defense I'm concerned... they haven't look that solid in Maradona's era. Hopefully it will improve next 10 days in Pretoria.

BTW, I've always liked Denmark though I don't know exactly way. Probably because of Laudrup ;)
That '92 EURO champ squad was great.

The WCH will start soon, so let's set the simplest way:

-guess the outcome of all the group matches (winner, or draw)
-guess the outcome of playoff matches (after 90/120 minutes, draw would bean a penalty shootout)

1 pt for each good tip. Deadline is first whistle of the match.

Right, or any ideas till start?

Starting conservatively...

Matches 1-5

South Africa v Mexico 1-1
Uruguay v France 0-1
South Korea v Greece 0-0
Argentina v Nigeria 2-0
England v United States 2-1

As for tipping on a new topic, it might be tidier - but sometimes having an unnaturally busy thread is just as good  :)

First of all, great news from Szolnok:

After numerous attempts, Szolnoki MÁV is the champion of NB II Group East!!! It seems financial problems had been solved for this year, so we shouldn't lose points in the last rounds for avoiding the first division.

So we should miss KBSC-Szolnok matches again - but ETO will come to Szolnok to suck. Just like Ferencváros and (of course) Újpest.
8)

1. Szolnoki MÁV 57 pts/27 matches
2. DVSC-DEAC (cannot qualify to NB I) 55/28
3. REAC 50/27
...
12. KBSC 32/28

Any tipping (just for fun, out of Akoss' game) for the final result?

My tips:
- the final will be played by the Netherlands and Italy: crappy match (0-0 or 1-1), the luckier (perhaps Italy) winning on penalties
- the usual "surprise team" playing semi-final will be Mexico

About my favourites:
If I'm realistic, I should guess that Slovakia will reach 2nd place in the group, but than lose the 1/8 final against the Netherlands. But I hope we will go much further! DO TO HO!!!

Final will be played between England and Germany (after lucky matches from them), though Spain and Argentina are the strongest. England will win 2-1.
There won't be real surprise teams this year, though the most possbile are: South Africa (home team, vuvuzela, referees... and they are not really bad), Serbia, USA.

Quarter final games look exciting, i.m.o.: France-England, Netherlands-Brazil, Argentina-Germany, Italy-Spain.

My favourites: Italy of course (quarter final loss against Spain is most predictable), and well, with Croatia missing, Nr. 2. supported team will be Serbia. I also like the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain... and a bit Argentina, too. Home team South Africa also can be mentioned.
FVCK OFF: England, Germany, Slovakia, South Korea teams.

After only 9 pts in the autumn, we managed to get 23 in the spring. The very serious financial problems seem to be solved, some of the players came back, and we could catch up on the relegation fight teams, and managed to avoid relegation finally (12th place is provided now).

It's sad to see Szolnok matches disappearing, but we got back our old enemy, Diósgyör, after they got relegated from first division. After 1996, we can play official league games against them. MOCSKOS DIÓSGYÖR!!!  ;) ;) ;)

DAMN IT!

The two first games yesterday seemed to be a draw-match, but two goals from nowhere made me lost several precious points at tipping games.

England-USA also 1-1 instead of ENG win (despite strrong English play throughout the most of the match), GER-USA 4-0 instead of 3-0... I feel "a bit" unlucky...

Let's hope better luck for tomorrow...

Brazil - North Korea  1-0
Ivory Coast - Portugal 2-1
Honduras - Chile 0-3
Spain - Switzerland 2-0
South Africa - Uruguay 0-1

No draws, apparently. I'm swimming the deep water with the Ivory Coast win, but I think they can surprise. And Portugal always needs to be woken up before they start taking things seriously.

Oh dear... New Zealand missed their victory because of the referee, who let the Slovaks lead 1-0 with an offside goal. But at least I earned precious points at tipping games.

My favourite team based on best names:

Ahorlu - Bamba, Shittu, Bastos, Patsatzoglou - Tshabalala, Kaká, Owusu-Abeyie, Letsholonyane - Mrdja, Holosko

Substitutes: Ngcongca, Papastathopoulos, Bassong, Enyeama, Kucka, Samaras...

Explanation:

-bamba means clumsy (HUN)
-sh*t is obvious (ENG)
-kaka means sh*t (HUN)
-"bas" is pronounced "basz", means f*ck (HUN)
-"tos" is pronounced "tosz", means f*ck (HUN)
-"samar" is pronounced "szamar", szamár means donkey (HUN)
-merda means sh*t (ITA)

The others are just their sounding. :)

Netherlands v Japan 3-1
Ghana v Australia 2-1
Cameroon v Denmark 0-3
Slovakia v Paraguay 1-1
Italy v New Zealand 2-0

On a general note, it is good that the quality of games seems to be improving. Too bad that seems to be inversely proportional to the quality of refereeing :-X

Thanks... I still think we will fail when we meet a genuinely strong team (but the main theme of the Cup so far is that there seem to be very few genuinely strong teams around, so...)

Poor Nigeria... they were really unlucky...

Btw, respect for Mexico and Uruguay! Excuse me for thinking that they'd do what Sweden and Denmark had done in Euro 2004... Argentina was also fair to beat Greece, not interfering the qualification battle between the other 3 teams with this.

I accept Duplode's suggestion, thus, I'm putting Welcome into the best names squad. :) I'm also adding Fallon to the lineup (inspired by a friend of mine, and yes, this name is really close to phallos), along with my new favourite, Echiejile.  :D

Tips for today:

Slovenia - England 0-2

USA - Algeria 2-0

Ghana - Germany 0-2

Australia - Serbia 1-1

Standings after 36 matches:

Gutix 20/36
Bonzai Joe 18/36
Akoss Poo 17/36
Duplode 16/36
Usrin 13/32
CTG 13/34
Chulk 11/24

May I take a guess: you did not watch that match.

Also, this was not the same situation at all because winning the group made the difference between facing Argentina or South Korea in the Last 16 (in reality that's the difference between reaching the quarter finals or not), and losing was unlikely to eliminate any of the teams.

Anyway, I hope Italy is eliminated in the group stage (unlikely...), because they win too many games by simulating and getting fake penalty kicks and acting injured to waste time and get free kicks. Just like Portugal. Too bad Portugal is still in the tournament.
Also: skid off Greece!  :D now there's just to hope that Switzerland will also be sent home with a thud. Then we can have more teams in the finals who play real football.

Slovenia - England 0-1

USA - Algeria 3-0

Ghana - Germany 0-3

Australia - Serbia 1-2

Wrong guess, I watched that match, too.

My only comment is that in the future, you shouldn't blame me for being biased for Hungarian teams when I'm talking about the referees for example. From our homelands, we can see things differently, maybe now you can see. I still insist on the fact that Denmark and Sweden should have done it differently, because they played unfairly in 2004.

As for me, topic is ON now, so waiting for WCH 2010 tips!

So you missed out on Italy vs Bulgaria, even though you like Italy? Okay. Anyway, if you watched the match you will know that, apart from the Swedish defensive players passing the ball around in the last 60 seconds of the match, there was no case of fixing. It is not illegal for a match to end in 2-2, only if the result is pre-arranged.

And of course I will not accept that we just "see things differently from our homelands". I look at each case separately. Anything else is nonsense and self-deception.

I watched both games parallelly (Hungarian TV 1 and 2 always broadcast the two matches this way, and people can switch to the channel on which there are better action).

The international press noted that match a pre-arranged result play, your opinion (and any Swedish/Danish one) won't change this, and won't change my point of view, either (even if you don't accept it). To leave the question open, UEFA did not investigate the case.

As I said earlier, I don't want to debate the topic furthermore.

I'm sad for the red card of the Chile team, they didn't deserve this. Still, it's a very good game.

IMPORTANT!

From tomorrow, we can watch the knockout stage of the Cup. If you think the game ends after 90 minutes, I'm waiting for the winning team for the point. If there's overtime in your opinion, tip the result after 120 minutes! Of course you can write the result after 90 minutes, too, along with the team name which advances. So, a draw would mean a penalty shootout (as I told it before the whole Cup).

Damn! I forgot to tip for Uruguay's victory...

Ghana - USA 1-1 (2-1 for Ghana in ET: African physical advantage will win. Donovan is too old to play 120' without getting tired and USA is crappy without him.

Germany - England 1-0: Germany has not played that well, but England has played even worse

Argentina - Mexico 4-1: Mexico has a good offensive team, but they will not cope for Argentina's attack. Match will be tied, then Arg scores 2-1 and when Mex attacks more to try to score and tie the game, Argentina's counter-attack will finish Mexican dreams. If not, we always have Maxi Rodriguez ;)

Netherlands - Slovakia 2-0: Easy for a not so clockwork orange but still dangerous

Brazil - Chile 3-2: Very entertaining match to watch, lots of shots on goal and goals to see. To bad an offensive team like Chile will be knockout

Paraguay - Japan 1-0: Paraguay scores a goal on a set piece and then defends as good as they can do it. Boooooring match!

Spain - Portugal 1-2: History plays a big part, Spain fails as usual...

Nor can I... Argentina have the most fearsome strike force in the world, but on the other hand I can picture Germany's dynamic midfield running rings around their defence.  I will not cheer against Argentina (exceptionally skilled sides are always a joy to watch) but I would love to see this German team going further...

Indeed. It will be a great match to watch and I think neither team has an edge here. Argentina's offensive is superlative, but mid-field was a bit unbalanced yesterday. German mid-field is very dynamic and they can create scoring situations even if they don't have a World Class forward (not mentioning they don't even have a good one from their own country).
Hopefully we will have our payback from last WC, but it all looks so much as a déjà vu... Beating Mex in 1/8, having 10GF and 2GA... There are 3 main differences though: They are not local, we now won every match (we had 2 draws last WC, against The Netherlands in round robin and then agains Mex, won later in ET) and we have the actual best player on the world coached by the best player in history.
Waiting anxiously for our revenge. Plus, I hate Rest of the world team!!

Netherlands v Brazil 2-1 (with their patience-based approach, Netherlands are a real threat to Brazil - possibly the biggest one if they are able avoid getting caught off-guard)
Uruguay v Ghana 2-0 (I have no dislike towards the Ghanaian team, but their game lacks creativity. Furthermore, they will be missing their best player, Andre Ayew. Uruguay should be able to out-class them)
Argentina v Germany 2-1 (as much as I like this German team, I have a feeling that the Argies won't screw up this time)
Paraguay v Spain 0-2 (no contest)

Well, it's very hard to remember the last time when KBSC started the championship with a win. This time it happened. On that almost historic cathegory match, we won that home game 2-1.

In the second round, we won again, this time in Vác, 3-1, against an opponent which is a secret contender for the promotion to elite.

Thus, Kazincbarcika is lying in 2nd spot with full points after 2 rounds. Congratulations! :)

BÖFF!!! :)

3rd round

Kazincbarcikai SC - MTK Budapest II 2-2 (0-2)

Kazincbarcika was unlucky with the fact that MTK had their first division game yesterday (MTK Budapest-Újpest 1-0), so they had the possibility for some first division players to 'play back' to the second team.

GÁ-GÁ-GÁ, buzi MTK!!!  ??? >:(

Things are going quite well for my local team FC København. They just beat Rubin Kazan 1-0 in Champions League and now have a realistic chance to advance to the last 16. But it will still be very difficult.
I'm an AGF supporter, but in international games I also support FCK because they play 1 km from my home.

Hungarian 2nd division:

Juventus-Cagliari 4-2 (Serie A)
