I can't believe it... trip seems to be cancelled. The third summer holiday in a row to spend with a health issue.

That's a pity... You'll really have to buy the cheapest ticket to any desination - just to experience that flying is quite fun, and to spot some more "exotic" planes.

After a long discussion, we decided to travel. If you have to suffer, you can also do it at nice places, like Brussels. However, beer helped a lot to survive the trip... :D

Both the old and the sharklet updated Airbus A320-200 was tried, the latter one seemed to be a lot more stable in the air.

According to Budapest airplane spotters, I missed the take-off of the year. Kalitta Air's B747-400 cargo left the city at an extremely low altitude (flightradar24 replay wasn't really informative in this question, but it's still visible that Jumbo flew only at ~900 m - over the 11th district* :D).

* Even Cargolux used to be at ~1200-1800 m there.

This is my favorite place for traffic spotting in Shanghai:

1. nice bike lane from our home all the way
2. seaside, nice place to lay down
3. Airport less than around 10km away to the south. Huge planes flying very low over your head.
4. Cargo ship port around 10km to the north. Huge ocean liner cargo ships continuously passing quite close.

Monday: A340 day at BUD airport, because of the usual Hungarian crappiness. Thank you, Ferihegy crew! ;D

(The first A340-600 ever landed in Budapest to take some fuel - but the ground stuff wasn't really prepared for the arrival. Therefore another A340-300 arrived in a few hours with the necessary towbar... :D)

Can't wait to fly again with the A340-600. It was great!

I like the take-off strategy of Arabian pilots (especially Qatar Cargo): very flat and fast. This angle (almost side view) is quite rare here.

I'll travel in this airplane:
Airbus Industrie a340-600
