What secrets brings this Copper UID shaped track? Will be the track for Thunderbird? Maybe it is the time for a fertile power gear run to finish the track first... What?
Is this the debut of Stratos or it will keep its virginity again?
The season started with two IMSA races! Will F40 and GT3 fill this fast and nonPG space this race?
I think the F40 will be the winning car. I am an awful pipsqueak, but you guys can make it
I don't know which car will take it this time... it feels like these early races have been quite instructive about bonuses, though!
That corkscrew up/down look impossible to avoid
I'm quite happy to actually drive through one, after so many avoidable ones!
Yes, they're not "racy", but they're a part of Stunts
It does seem unavoidable, except for some very lucky magic carpeting. Not sure any of the usable cars bonus-wise have that capacity though.
It's been so long, indeed, that I'm not even sure I remember the last time we had to climb a cork at ZakStunts. (Was it really as far back as ZCT089?!)
The element would have made more sense is a 90 or 180 turn. Not a 360..
Now its very slow, and only only usable as obstakel.

Nevermind this comment, I was looking at the track in the wrong direction.

A few cars can go through one at a "fun" speed, for example the McLaren MP4. Otherwise, it does force you to slow down quite a lot.
Data maxima venia (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/data_venia) 🤭, I find it a perfectly fine element! Besides, it's the only way we get an usable 360° turn. (I guess calling it a "corner" might be a bit of a stretch :) )

If I find a way to alter or create an collision model for a new track element. The up down corkscrew is the first one I'll ditch to make room.
The only thing cool about it is that they managed to make a very complex road element in a very limited amount of code.
A program technical marvel, gameplay wise not so much..
I don't mind having to slow down but what I always found annoying about Corks u/d is the way the car "suspension" behaves. It feels like it's climbing a stair more than a flat surface

In the Netherlands we refer to this as Belgium road. It's similar to the feeling we get when we cross the border..
QuoteA lot of rural roads in Belgium are made out of concrete slabs, almost like you would see in the Philippines or Thailand.
NOTE: The Netherlands almost never uses concrete slabs for roads.

Something really weird happens with this replay of mine if you play it with F2 view, at the point when I'm going up the corkscrew u/d. Take a look.
Yeah, that's a funny effect! It's as if the F2 camera failed to keep behind the car for a moment.
