Lancia track by Akoss Poo... Coming next week! ;)
Akoss did not upload any tracks here, although I asked him. No problem because of my computer problems but still strange...
New track is here. Sorry for being late, but CTG asked me only on Thursday to build a track for Friday. I'm not a stunts addict like him, so I could only build it for today. Tracik is for Lancia, no special rules. It wanted to be a bit shorter, but I hope you will enjoy racing on it.
I would like to race, too, but I can't, because of the ache in my right hand (now typing only with the left). Hope it will ease soon.
CTG is facing computer breakdown due to a small accident, he is away a bit, let's hope the competetion manager will come back soon, too.
So, fasten your seatbelt, and drive!
Thanks Akoss! Last time we had a Lancia track of yours I had my worst race ever result-wise, hopefully I'll be able to do a bit better this time. ;D And no way you can be considered late - For instance, I don't think that, even when I have lots of available time, I can design, build, test, and finish a good competition track in less than three days...
I love your online fighting in 3rd person ;D
What's up with your hand, Akoss? If it's the same thing I had, you need to rest your hand COMPLETELY.
Akoss: thanks!
Of course the track is already in action! ;)
Long and painful... :o for the moment, I'll be really pleased if I get to perform a better race here than in Ózd...

For God's sake, I told Akoss (in October) to make a SHORTER track! :-\
Duplode: how long is it? I haven't seen the track yet...
My (weak) initial lap is already on your mailbox. It's 2:02.20...

Oh my God!!! :o
I'll try to access my web files with some kind of editor program this week and update the site.
I haven't tried it yet, but I saw it with TB. It appears very hard, demanding a lot of time in order to maximize the various tracts wherewith perfect and extreme slides are needed.

So it will be a strange race: Duplode dislikes the car/track combo, BJ is bored of Lancia, Mark has quite a mixed opinion about it, CTG can't participate with serious racing... I really wonder about the final scoreboard...
I just realized: no deadline date is published. Let's say it's
5th December 2008, midnight.
De donde puedo bajar la pista...?
From this thread... Akoss' post.
Muchas gracias, Bonzai... pero como no encuentro el Akoss post... podrías hacerme el favar de adjuntar el link...? gracias de nuevo...
It's right up there though (just scroll up...)
But anyway, here's the track again :)
Maybe attachments don't function for you?
And 2.02 wasn't something I could beat in 10 minutes...
Track sent to everybody in e-mail... ;)
Muchas gracias, CTG y Bonzai...
Tonight I'm going to try the track. I really wonder about it...
Well I'm actually pretty fond of the Lancia, but I'm not very happy about the track.
Hmmmm....
See you on the scoreboard soon..
Playing with auto gears at the university office, always keeping an eye on the entrance... :D This track is really long: some parts are splendid - some of them are just extra boring.

Maybe it will, especially if there are any new replays :) I considered trying to improve a bit on the weekend, but there are so many intimidating hard sections I haven't done properly on my current replay that I didn't knew where to start...

There are no new replays so far... :-\ The problem is that I can't install my webeditor to any of the computers 'cause the crack is infected by a virus (this university PC doesn't even allow me to open that .exe - while I also don't want to infect Böbszlee's computer). I have bad experiences with editing Namo's HTML files with other webeditors, so... :(
Will we see the worst race in USC history?

Then simply use Notepad++, you won't get any issue. ;)
I guess CTG needs a WYSIWYG editor.
Not to simply add names and times I think. Just copy and paste a previous time and modify name and time. Simple and efficient. 8)
Or check for another crack with Google.
Well, I know virtually nothing about HTML edition and do not try such software since maybe five years ago, but you might want to check a portable WYSIWYG editor available at PortableApps (an useful site to bookmark, BTW): http://portableapps.com/apps/development/nvu_portable
Useful website, I took the portable version of Notepad++ (http://portableapps.com/news/2008-11-12_-_notepadpp_portable_5.1.1).

how could I forget! I used NVU at my previous workplace and it rocks. It also has an updated version with better CSS handling, named Kompozer: http://kompozer.net/
Finally a new replay arrived... Super Brian tasted the track and sent a mediorce time. He can do it a lot better I guess...

OFFICIAL UPDATE OF USC SITE IN THE AFTERNOON! (99%)

Edit: RH stats and WRL are also updated, Arad analysis... well... that's what I can't do at workplace. :D

Key part is the jump-jump-bridge corner-cork down part: in my 1:58.85 it was quite nice - my new replay is 5-5.5 seconds faster at that point but losing way too much speed to improve... :-\
Edit: still a crappy key part but finally improved a bit...

It's in plaster now. Hoping for early relief. Now typing with left hand. Don't wanna miss community life. I'd like to race Dobsina, too, but I can't. No replays for ages and only 5 pipsqueaks so far. Where are you, guys? :-\
I'll do Zakstunts first, then USC. (but I'm not racing a lot at the moment)

If you check the leading time of Dobsina, you will realize it's kidplay to beat by 5-10 seconds.
Then I would have to improve my test lap by 25 seconds.
Don't worry, I will race, just not yet.
Newbie with problems: Fredmen67 sent an invalid replay (unfinished).
New replays by Duplode and me. First half of my replay sucks, the key part is excellent. With a lucky finish I should go slightly under 1:50.

Not THAT slow, sometimes it hits 200 mph and even more. ;)

I raced only yesterday and won't be home tonight, no time to perform THE trick of the track that is worth, roughly, 15-20 seconds.
Congrats to SuperBrian, he did THIS trick. Well done partner, I'm proud of your performance. I hope you'll keep the podium, you deserve it.
Whoa, SuperBrian, very nice!
By the way, none of the tricks I do in this track are worth 15-20 seconds...
We have a potential winner beating my time heavily. Maybe another pipsqueak will also do it. Or two... :) (I promised no updates so this one is just oil in the fire... :D)
We have the winner. 95 percent. That 5 covers the e-mail delays. Update: around 1 am, if the firewall allows me using the virus infected Namo WebEditor from my old HDD. If not: afternoon (from the lab).
Dobsina final results & replays, WRL, stats, wiki medal table are updated! ;)
Congratulations to Mark L. Rivers, well deserved victory: his winning lap is quite strong with making THE TRICK. CTG made about the same replay just a lot slower: before 1:20 it was just very pure minimalist RH - analysis will show. :D Huge gaps thanks to the cork up/down... Special congratulations to Super Brian, splendid 4th place! BJ, Duplode: lazy bones! :P (motivating insult)
Now let's move to Eszék and make a bit more interesting race! ;)
Damn! If Mark had been just a bit slower, I would have 1 extra point. I regret not finding some more centiseconds in the bridges part...
I knew that cork jump was the key but after some tries, I gave up trying as I got bored...
Well, I know that my final time realized 2 days ago could be enough to win, but I thought that BJ or Duplode made a strong attack in the last hour... Better so! ;)
I had realized 2 finished laps before. The first one (1:58,xx without sound) jumping on the right of the U/D corkscrew and rebounding until the road just before the bankroad. Last Monday (1st December) I re-drove the entire race overtaking the U/D corkscrew in the same way, obtaining 1:48,xx. But after that, I understand that I had chosen a bad way to approach the ice tract placed after 30 seconds of race, losing almost 2 seconds... ::) So I re-drove another time the track from the ice tract, succeeding to increase the advantage thanks to closing a bit more the 180 degrees (specular fast chicanes, I think I made that curve not bad) before the key-tract. This time I succeed to jump from the bridge of the U/D corkscrew landing on the bankroad with an advantage over 4 seconds on my previous attempt. But then, I didn't succeed to find the rebound I had found in my 2nd replay (between the ramps series) and so I arrived to the last tract before the loop with a lower speed. Anyway a final unexpcted cut has permitted me to close in 1:45,00.
Nice car/track combo, and nice race for me. I would have preferred a higher engagement from the other drivers, but... I'm satisfied for my race and my skill with Lancia... ;)
P.S. CTG, even Brazil is a nice nation that I find very charming, I think that the tag "ITA" beside my name on the scoreboard sounds more suitable... :D ;) :)
Mark did really catch all of us by surprise - I think "classy" and "stylish", as CTG wrote on the USC news, is really the best adjective for describing it. 8) But the pipsqueak I'm really amazed by this time is SuperBrian! His lap is very solid, and the result is even more impressive after noticing it was not only done with autogears, but also without either of the loopcuts... despite narrowly missing the third place this time, he is very likely to become a regular podium visitor as soon as he completes the switch to manuals. Congratulations Brian! ;)

BJ, Duplode: lazy bones! :P (motivating insult)
Well, it seems BJ was the one able to make lazy racing more effective this time :) The comparison between our section times will be interesting - I want to find whether I dropped those two seconds due to technical or tactical reasons.
Analysis: I can promise anything but probably it won't become true in 2 days or so. But I'm also very interested in the section times: Mark was ahead by 5.5 seconds before the jumps (around 1:20) and also 5.5 seconds at the last loop (4.90 at the end). On the other hand Super Brian was faster than me in certain sections before the cork part - with auto gears! :D :o ::)
Great replay, Mark L. and great second half, CTG (1st half is truly awful...). Also very nice performance from SuperBrian! But still much improvement to be made, as Mark's replay shows (to all of us.)
Thanks CTG, Duplode, AbuRaf70 and BJ for your congratulations! :) I didn't expect a so high performance with Lancia, even if last USC season I caught a nice podium behind Dottore and Argammon with the same car on a track of the same designer... Maybe with the next same track designer/car combo I'll start with more conviction about my potential... ;)
I'll start with Mark. Really a nice replay with such a huge gap to all of us. Congratulations!
Further, I had no idea that my time was that good, but I knew I could beat duplode if he lost his interest in making his last time better, lucky me. I'm also looking forward to switch to manuelgearing, and I'll do whatever I can, but maybe you wont see a final replay in manual just around the corner, but I certainly hope so. Especially with Porsche March Indy and the new Eszék track..

Thanks SuperBrian! :)
And congratulations to you too! I'm looking forward and I see many podiums for you when you'll drive changing the gears in the moment you want to do it... ;)
Finally! Dobsina analysis is available: Mark ruled the race in general but won only 3 sectors from the 9 (another 3 by Duplode and CTG). Sectors aren't really equal in length: I made really long sections before the tricky part (quite boring, huh?) and small ones for the last part.
The first minute of the track was totally useless. :D
Weird race this one - I still can't believe I actually won one third of the sectors, even if those were the "totally useless" ones :D At least I can say this time I didn't really try to max out the uglier sectors... ;D Even so, it seems I lost to BJ and Brian due to two bad tactical calls I didn't correct in time: trying to cut the fast hairpin part at ~1:15 by the outside (it should be clear that it was impossible to keep any extra speed when entering the tunnel) and doing a very long outer loopcut before the finish line (that was mostly due lack of patience).
Four seconds gained between 20" and 40"... Beside key tract, I think I won because, after a early trial, I re-drove two times the whole track in last week... "Also" realizing always THE TRICK, sure.... ;)
