Hey guys why don't you try this competiton? The championship is getting hard and you shouldn't miss it ;)
Alan, why don't you race this competition too ? :-D
I would, if my time wouldn't already be too short to race Zakstunts and USC seriously. :?

I think I know why, but I'll have to search it for a while...

I'm not the million dollar man, just the million dollar question man.
Anyway, come on Alan, race WSC at least once. Prove the World that nobody is better than you at no-shortcut indy racing. Remember the loooong sequel of victory you had at ISA and IRC.
Come on, fasten your seatbelt and race. 8)
Yep... I've just found it... Here it is:
Quote from: "Alan Rotoi (Fri Feb 04, 2005)"Look I don't take part because the tracks are not the same. They are like lukas loehrer 98's track Mings and some of the oldies knows how a competition track should be.
I still don't know what that means, but I think that somehow he's insulting me  ...
Paleke, he just says that he finds your tracks not worth racing because he consider that they are not properly designed, which is not an insult but almost in my opinion. :?
This is a paradox, because at the same time he tries to advertise for your competition. :-k
Come on Alan, give them a try and you'll see that some of these tracks are better than some of ISA or IRC tracks, especially the tracks for the 2nd season of WSC.
1st tracks Paleke made were not too good, like anybody's first tracks. But he improved in track designing and his tracks are now good (ok, I didn't tried the last one so far, but I raced all of his previous tracks and I can tell you his tracks are good).

I know that, I was joking. I've even talk to him about it, just for fun, because I knew that my tracks weren't good. I'm not sure if my tracks are good now, but they are definetelly better than last year ones... ;-)
QuoteCome on Alan, give them a try and you'll see that some of these tracks are better than some of ISA or IRC tracks, especially the tracks for the 2nd season of WSC.
Do you want to know why he doesn't give it a try? Because he knows that he will be defeated by Ayrton (I think the expresion is right, isn't it?) :D
wait wait :-) I don't race in any stunts competition ^_^ that's the current reason. I didn't see how were the tracks since I wrote that message so I can't talk about them.
About what I said in those times it was not an insult, krys understood very well what I meant.
Si eso que escrib? te ofendi?, mis mas sinceras disculpas. (better in spanish ;))
This is for Alan so I'll write in spanish:

Paleke, you wrote to me on mail: Another thing, you'll have to publish your times in the forum in the corresponding topic (don't forget you have to mail me your replay too). If you have any other doubt let me know by mail or in the forum, ok?
I have already downloaded the track and the special track and I have already driven them, but I cannot find the corresponding topic where I have to publish my time. I will send my times, when I get to know ehere this "corresponding topic" is.
By the way, if I have to comment on this topic:

This topic is in the spanish abandonware forum of Lukaswebs :
click on "Foro" link at WSC page,
register (I suggest you to select english as forum language for easier use),
log in to post with your name,
go to "Stunts" sub-category of the forum,
then "World Stunts championship" main topic,
and then the topic with the track name. That's the place you can post the time you made.

I think this means there's already too much users online connected to the forum. Try again a little bit later.
It happened to me once or twice too, and it came back to normal state a few hours later when I tried again.
Yep, sometimes happens. I'm not quite sure why, and I don't know how it is fixed, but if you get that message, you'll have to try later, as Krys said.
I tried ten times before i send the message, then I tried last night, this morning and twice now, It still makes an error.
But I'll try again later...
A few moments ago it wasn't working, but know it is...
Yeah it's working now, and I like this race. 8)
Damn, Mark is really good with indy.
A little surprise for this new season of WSC : no replay from Ayrton or Gutix... ::)
What happened Paleke ?
Do you need help of any kind ?
I don't want to see this competition die...
And I don't want to see this competition die without the end of current track !
Deadline for Gazpacho track is 29th at midnight (Argentinian time), Let's publish our time in this forum. Here is my (maybe) final replay in the zip file attached with this post. Zip is password-protected, I'll publish the password when deadline will be over. Do same as me and at least this competition will have a decent final track.
I also attach the track for those who didn't had it and may want to take part for the final round...
Damn, it's sad to see a competition, and more, a fellow r?cer to go away in such dark circumstances...
Anyway, for the moment let's resume Gazpacho, which I don't want to call final track :'(... Just re-stating: today and tomorrow are quiet days, so don't forget to lock the zip file and post the password on Saturday. By the way, do you think we need to choose someone to validate the replays?
(Of course, I'll post a lap soon - but I can't seem to find the file anywhere...)
Ah, at last I found it...
What happened? I just see that WSC site is not working but can't understand the spanish text. Is it closed forever?
I can start an IRC rules competition after USL if you want.
Well done, Krys. I had thought to complete Gazpacho, but you realized it: great.
I sent a mail to encourage Paleke (not to keep alive WSC but just to encourage him for his bad situation) at usual address, but I still haven't reach a reply...
Anyway here is it my replay (protected zip) for Gazpacho.
http://digilander.libero.it/stunts.SDR/replay/GAZMARK2.zip (http://digilander.libero.it/stunts.SDR/replay/GAZMARK2.zip)
If other drivers are agree, I would want that you, Krys, validate the replays checking all IRC laps.
I think that race would finish at 5:00 a.m. (GMT+1) of Saturday 30 June, so password can be publish after that date/hour.
Protected zip means nothing, you can see the size of RPL files. (from this aspect Mark is leading)
What about my new IRC idea?
OK for me if you want me to validate replays.
But beware of the deadline Duplode : WSC deadlines were always midnight (Argentinian time zone) the day before the last of the month. That is for June the time told by Mark. So, race tonight because on saturday it will be too late. ;D
Regarding new ISA/IRC/WSC-rules competition : we definitively need one. Best would be to see Paleke back, else OK for me if you want to continue the competition. But let's do it as continuous competition, that is keep current scoreboard of WSC and continue the competition, not start a brand new one.
I don't want to continue WSC but revive IRC. :)
Or... okay let's call it IRC but with former WSC results. :)

Fine, Buenos Aires and S?o Paulo are on the same timezone... ;)
About the future of the competition, I'm all for it staying alive, but there are two observations:
1. If CTG wishes to methamorph WSC into IRC, would it be fair to Paleke? That is a particularly relevant if we someday intend to use WSC archives (unused guest tracks, etc.). Now I understand a contest conversion is probably not what CTG is thinking (rather, to have an ISA/IRC contest running till WSC is restarted without dropping '07 WSC results), but I still feel the need to raise the topic.
2. Anyway, if CTG wishes to methamorph WSC into IRC, then he should use a hybrid name, at least for this season. WS-IRC, or then WIRSC (World Indy Racing & Stunts Cup) feel nice to me :P
Quote from: CTG on June 29, 2007, 09:21:46 AM
Protected zip means nothing, you can see the size of RPL files. (from this aspect Mark is leading)
Not necessarily, compression rates might vary... Anyway, ideally we should think of a systematic procedure for inserting random files into the zip to mess up its size.
Duplode, CTG wants to use IRC name in a reference to Indy Racing Cup, a competition that took place after ISA (International Stunts Association) from mid-2002 to the end of 2003.

Clic on the zip, select "open", then you'll see the original .rpl file and its original size. This is the parameter compared by CTG, not the size of the zip file.
Therefore, the best is to post a zip file with a text file in it, with our time written in the text file. No clue regarding the time made this way. I'll do that for my new improvement. ;D
Quote from: DuplodeAbout the future of the competition, I'm all for it staying alive
I think we all are, community needs a no-shorcut competition. It was really missing after the end of IRC and I was happy to see WSC coming to replace.
Anyway, best would be that Paleke problems get solved and that he brings back WSC I think.
First of all, I'm really sorry, guys. I didn't want it to be like this. I don't want WSC to die, I won't let it that easy. I don't know what will happen now, but I hope it will be just for a few week until everything gets normal, or I adapt to the new family situation. What happened? I really don't want to talk about it yet, it's too soon and above all, it's so god damn skiding stupid that I am ashamed of it.
About the mails, I didn't have the chance to check them yet, I'm having a lot to study (and it's hard to do, because of this shit), I have an exam today, another tomorrow, then monday and then next saturday. I'll try to check and reply them tomorrow night. But not everything are bad news, on wednesday I had a job interview, and yesterday they called me to tell me that I start on monday, so I think karma is kind of balanced in that aspect.
Anyway, I think I can manage to finish the current track (I mean, check the replays, and publish scoreboard and championship board) before the WSC enters in a standby situation. We can think a new deadline, I'll tell AbuRaf and hek, because they don't come to this forum, and then... well, let's call it a "short vacation break" for now. My idea is to have at least one more race for this season, so the page probably will be back as soon as I get to organize my life again.
So, what do you say about tuesday for a new deadline? I can check the replays and publish the results on wednesday.
PS: If you are ok with this, we will be in quiet days until the deadline.

OK, no problem : "a break" doesn't mean "death of the competition". So I'm happy with that. Let's hope the break will be shorter than Kalpen break was... ::) ;)

Not the zip size but the packed RPL size can be seen in Total Commander. ;)
New deadline is a bit worse for me but no problem, it's still fair enough. :)
I forgot to say: thanks everyone for the support (here and the mails you sent).
Well, since it is ok with (most of :P) you, the last day to send replays will be tuesday, so the official new deadline is Wednesday 00:00 hs GTM -3. I'm now changing the attributes of some files of the pages so that the SSEHPTC and the scoreboards are available, so here they are:
SSEHPTC (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/SSEHPTC/index.php)
Track's scoreboards (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/Clasificacion/circuito.htm)
Season standings (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/Clasificacion/campeonato.htm)
The rest of the web will be locked for a while. As soon as I check the replays I'll mail you all, so you can check the results. Untill then, I'm out.

Yep, Mark won. The web is back online, and the championship will be back in a few days.
Sorry about the delay, but in my defense, I have to say that today is Argentina's Independence Day, so it can be considered part of the weekend (a long weekend ;D)
No need to excuse Paleke, we'ra all happy to see that your problems are (at least partially) solved and that you are back. ;)
General info for interested parties: Paleke will be updating WSC results and stuff essentially by the forum (that is, Foro Stunts Argentina (http://fsa.ar.nu)) for a while. His official notice is here (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/foro/index.php?topic=23.15). SSEHTPC laptime submission will remain as usual AFAIK. Now GO OWOOT...

I'm totally agree with Duplode! IRC rules are not bad and I think it could be a new field of fair "battles" for many of us! Come back, Ayrton! My skill is a bit better than last year, and I want to see if I succeed to stay quite near you, now.... :) And what about you, Chulk? Really do you want to miss an argentinian championship...? ;)

Here you have the track and its map. It didn't help I put a broken link in the original post: here's the actual topic (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/foro/index.php?topic=27.0). Do I have to drive loops and corkscrews right/left all around or I can cut them (with driving through them) as long as I keep always one wheel on the road? Thanks in advance and thanks Duplode for mailing the track and dealine.
I did 1:22 on my very first try. How can I register to be able to send my replay from SSHETPC? Do I have to talk to Paleke first?

3 Chulk 1:17.50
4 Krys TOFF 1:20.75*
5 AbuRaf70 1:24.95
6 Paleke 1:33.85
*: 1" of penalty time.

Congratulations Duplode! :)
So... next race will be a great challenge... I'm really intentioned to re-conquer the highest step of the podium... ;)
So I broke Mark's unbeaten run of three (actually should be five...) races! Next step: winning a WSC track I haven't designed ;D
Congrats to Duplode!!! Let's see if I can win next race. It seems track will be really hard according to what Paleke said in FSA...

Have you tested the new track? I think winning time can be around 1:20 or so. Try it and then we can talk about it.
The track is devil's work!! :o
The zipfile with Clubman5?s final result contains my previous replay (1:15,20) and not my last one (1:14,85). My best time is attached here.
Anyway, it seems I lose the race in last corkscrew (I didn?t reach the Powergear, about 0,50 second lost, shame on me?) and above all in last 8 seconds. I made a mistake approaching the last tunnel cutting too much the slow curve and putting my right wheels on the grass just before the ingress. So I had to control the slide of my car losing speed. Instead Duplode made a clean path on the asphalt keeping a higher speed than me. Result: 0,20 second gained for him from the beginning of the tunnel and its end, and a gap obviously increased at the finish (0,45) due to the higher speed?
Well done, Duplode! :) I think last race will be really dazzling, and sure next season too, above all if the greatest IRC Indy specialist (read ?Ayrton?) will come back with us?! ;)

Ups, my bad, I'll correct it as soon as I can. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore, because the god damned forum server have failed again and it seems that this time all the forum messages were erased. I'll mail Iespana to complain about this, but I don't think this will work. I'm very pissed off, I don't know what to do. I mean, I need the forum because the SSEHPTC works with its database, but I don't want to keep it (at least in the current hosting) if it's going to keep failing like that, and this may involve fixing the SSEHPTC's programming so it can be run in a different hosting, and I don't know (and don't have time to find out) how hard to do this is. Perhaps the most reasonable solution in short term may be keeping "two" forums: one just for the SSEHPTC database, and the other to use properly as a forum. In this case there is an obvious option that is kind of embarrasing for me, but due to the situation, it's probably the best, so: do you think Zak will mind if I ask him to borrow me a part of his forum?
PS: changing the subjet, a question to all the pipsqueaks that have raced in Mexicana: how do you do to pass the second corkscrew left/right (or right/left, I don't remember)? In case you don't know wich one I am refering to, I,m talking about the "broken" one.

no :) just tell me all the name of the main categories you'd like to have, and I'll create them with you as a moderator.

Well, I tried two or three times to loop it properly (rofl!), then gave up and just strolled ahead, taking a small jump in the end towards the banking if I remember correctly...

Ok, that's what I thought.
I went straight, always keeping one wheel on the road. Car didn't do any jumps but just continued as if it was a straight piece of road.
Ok, thanks all for your answers.
After a little investigation after the reply from Iespana (hosting), I realized that I was wrong, although the server is not working properly (error messages pretty often), it didn't erase the forum's messages, they weren't erased at all (not this time, at least). The problem seems to be in the domain I was using (fsa.ar.nu), I don't see how, but for some reason when you access the forum using this address it doesn't show you the content of the message; but if you use the "real" address (wstuntsc.iespana.es/foro) it does.
So:
Zak: thanks for the help offer, but it seems I won't be needing it this time, although I'll keep it in mind for the future, just in case...
Everyone: if you want to access WSC's forum, from now on go to http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/foro

Ok, that's much better when I can see what people are talking about. :D Sadly, with this url there's an ad at the top.
Anyway, there's still some bugs with chinese symbols (see attached pic).
So the problem was with the domain... that reminded me of another strange bug - back when the news were posted on the main page, sometimes it happened that updates took longer to appear at wsc.ar.nu than at wstuntsc.iespana.es . And reagrdless of anyhing, my DNS still blocks WSC addresses and thus I still have to use the cgi-proxies - BTW, my "old" proxy links (based on wsc.ar.nu/foro) to the forum are currently functional (from about three days ago on, that is). Anyway, the important thing is the forum is workig again - although it might be useful to keep this topic ative as well...
(And about the Kanjis Krys has metioned: I see them too (or at least <?> marks due to wrong encoding settings), but with those proxies there are so many imperfections on browsing that I betetr ignore that as well... :-\)
I don't know why the chinese symbols (I'll try to change it back soon) and I don't know why, but fsa.ar.nu is working ok now.
All I know is that I don't know nothing :P
Quote from: PalekeAll I know is that I don't know nothing :P
Hey, at least it's a beginning of knowledge. :D ;D
Minor and hopefully irrelevant observation: techincally, there is a way to loop properly the broken cork l/r. Problem is, you would have to be at ~40mph... :P On another subject, now I agree with Chulk and Mark on their bets for winning time, at ~1:20...
Yep, I know that now, but when I designed I didn't. I realized that when AbuRaf asked me about his replay.
Anyway... did you notice that deadline is tonight? Do you want more time to race? :D

Deadline isn't tomorrow ? Damn, I thought it was 26th at midnight (Argentina time-zone), not 25th. Damn it, I probably won't have time tonight, but I'll have time tomorrow. :-\
I'm thinking about changing the deadline because last replay I received was a week ago from AbuRaf, so it seems to me that everybody else forgot when it was. Perhaps sunday at midnight it's a good option, more time for everybody to improve their replays (even me). One positive answer and I'll change the deadline, so... ;)
Deadline change suits me fine. ;D
I won't have time to race unless it's postponed to next week, after ISM '08 will finnish.
Well Paleke, I think you must change the deadline now, because only 5 hours divide us from the original deadline and it's not clear if you have decided to postponed it or not... ::) So I don't send any replay, considering obviously that you have postponed the finish of the race. Please, could you confirm Sunday midnight as new deadline ?
Well, I feel I could make use of some extention as well... ;D no complaints about Sunday midnight or whatever date suits you best.
Sunday at midnight is, then. ;)
Mexicana's results confirmed... ;)
Krys TOFF saves his 2nd final place, +2 points on Duplode who sure have to regret having missed race 1, Hutspot...
And now we are waiting for next season, sure charming with Chulk, Dark Chaser and (maybe) Ayrton! 8)

Anyway, the 2008 season of WSC is about to begin, I'm not quite sure when, but I know it is going to be during this week. Stay tunned for more news. ;)
Hi, Stunts pipsqueaks!!!
I will participate this time... I think WSC 2008 will be a very interesting season!!!
Maybe I can 'fight' for the trophy... Maybe...
Paleke, what will be the WSC 2008's homepage??? Give me the link... ;D
Paleke???
Do you have news about WSC 2008???
Yeah, sorry about it. It may sound as an excuse, but last week a series of complications delayed my work. First, a problem with my brother's car (I'm using it to go to work) kept me kind of distracted until Friday, when I finally got it back from the mechanic. On Saturday morning, my mother and one of my sisters arrived from Spain where they spent the last three weeks. Sunday morning, I took that same sister back to his place in Jesus María, a town that is 50 km away from Córdoba (where I live), and help her with some of her stuff; in the afternoon my brother came and I couldn't do nothing. Finally, today, I wen't to work in the morning, I went to the univertity in the early afternoon (my first day of classes), I came back a while ago and started working on it but I realized that I have some files missing and I'm trying to get them back so I can upload everything that it's needed to be uploaded in one shot, so, I promess I won't go to sleep tonight until the web is updated, ok? ;)
BTW, the "new" url is http://wsc.ar.nu :)
I can't access the URL... The homepage doesn't work...
Paleke!!!!!
Weird :-\
Try http://wstuntsc.iespana.es
But I think Duplode is having trouble with the page too. Maybe it's something about the IP. I don't know how he did to "fix" it, but if your problem continues I think you should try to access from one of these pages that allow you to navigate anonymously, like www.anonymouse.org ;)
EDIT: Anyway, the web is now updated, so... let's race!!!
Zak: I'll try to send you soon the updated data for the portal, I'm really tired now and I really want to go to sleep. ;)
Bien Paleke ;), andaba con ganas de participar en WSC, pruebo el circuito y te mando el tiempo, espero no haberle perdido la mano ... ???
Amazing track, one of the best in WSC... :)
OK, Paleke...
If I can't access the homepage, I will ask you to send me the TRK file, alright??? When will be the deadline???
Ops, my e-mail is alexandreramos_jor@hotmail.com
Thanks, Paleke... Good luck, pipsqueaks!!!
Hello again, and welcome back everybody - let's all get in mood for the tight, engaging season that unfolds this term :) Now for the track: vision-skewing mazes are a recurrent theme in Stunts track-making, but translating it to a full-blown contest course is a different matter: nice track and great vision Paleke! 8)

Indeed, I still have trouble to reach both WSC addresses from home, and at some other computers elsewhere as well. Maybe it has something to do with our Brazilian ISPs (Dark Chaser: could it possibly be Speedy's fault in your case?). Anyway, www.anonymouse.org or other cgi-proxies allow me to reach the pages and submit times at least, provided I can put up with the proxy ads and random bugs at the forum.
PS.: Darkie, you'd better avoid quoting your mail address "naked" on public forums - spamming tools might find it...

I don't know about Brazilian IP's, but I don't think it can be Speedy's fault as I have Speedy as well and no problem at all...
Oh, there's Speedy in Argentina too... :) strange how I always seem to forget Speedy is a trademark of (the global corporation) Telefonica - probably because they only operate in Sao Paulo state here in Brazil.

Well, Darkie, I will shortcut the answer (excuse me, Paleke... :)):
- 1. You can't cut loops or any other stuff for that matter...
- 2. About SSHETPC: You need to create a forum account at fsa.ar.nu and then use it as login at the SSHETPC screen in order to submit the time. It is important to remember you need to send the replay *both* via e-mail and using SSHETPC (quiet days can only be used if you made a public time using SSHETPC before).
Contact me if something is unclear... ;)
Too bad, my friend Duplode... I had a good replay cutting the loop... I will made a new replay tonight... So I will send it to you, of course...
Paleke, I have a replay for The Maze's Track... How can I send it to you???
By email (wstuntsc@yahoo.com.ar)???
What about SSEHPTC??? I have no idea about how to use it...
I need your help, Paleke...
Sorry for the delay, now it seems that you managed to use SSEHPTC.
Even tough it's late now, here (http://wstuntsc.iespana.es/foro/index.php?topic=8.msg20#msg20) you can find the information of how to use it. The Spanish version dissappeared, but I think English version is understandable enough. Any question, feel free to ask... anyone else but me, you might get the answer you want faster :P (obviously you can ask me too, if you are willing to wait)
Thank you, my friend Paleke...
I sent you two emails with my two finished replays for The Maze... I sent my replays to SSEHPTC, too. Take a look at my replays... I didn't cut the looping or the corkscrew... I didn't use 'a quina do canteiro central', too. So I didn't use shortcuts this time... ;)
I hope I can be in the TOP 3 in The Maze... ::)
Hugs, Paleke...
Darkie
When Ayrton is on a track, to be on the podium is a fantastic result, especially with Indy... ;)
My goal in WSC 2008 is principally to stay as near as possible to him, sure more near than in 2006 season when my gap were around 3 - 4 seconds... ::)
Anyway, I have to defend a title, and so I can't start without try to win some races, especially after my good 2nd place in 1st race of ZakStunts 2008, less than a second behind Ayrton. But it will be very hard because he is able to reach a so high magnificence that skims the perfection....
My podium's forecast for this race:
1) Ayrton
2) Duplode or me
3) Me or Duplode
Winner gap on second: 1,80...
Does anybody else want to try...? ;)

All I can do is to restate your comments on Ayrton and extend the list a bit:
1) Ayrton
2) Mark
3) Darkie or me
4) Me or Darkie
;)
Well, I've just took a look to the provisional standings...
Darkie marked really a strong time and I'm really glad to see that every race will be really a great fight for the podium! Sure, watching the "provisional" first place, the first step of all podiums seems already assigned... If Ayrton chose the same way I chose, well, this means my progress is not so strong since 2006... ::)
With the way I chose, I could do 1 seconds better, maybe 1,5 seconds better, but sure not Ayrton's alien-time... Waiting for the final standings, and, above all for me, for the replay... I want to see as aliens drive...
Just checking before I update the results.
I have:
2 replays from Darkie
4 from AbuRaf
2 from Ayrton
3 from Duplode
1 from Krys
2 from Mark
If this is correct, I think I can have the update will be ready for Monday night. Any delay or news I'll try to inform about it here.
Official result published on WSC site.
Congratulations to Ayrton, a real rocket on The Maze! I contained my gap under a second until the middle of the race, then I ceded a lot... Congratulations to Darkie too for his 3rd place, it will be a pleasure fighting with him in next races! Duplode remained out of the podium, but if you check his replay, you'll see that his race was not very defined since the beginning, so... we'll see again the real Duplode in other rounds... ;)
About next track, well, it's really short and it appears not very hard. So... sharp gaps and great challenge! My goal will be containing my gap under the second from Ayrton. He will have to drive very fast this time if he desires a larger gap on me... ;)
Damn it! Mark posted it first!!! :D

Mark, you are right... You are able to win, of course...I hope I can get a good position again... This time we will have Chulk and the 'real Duplode'... So we will have many possibilities this race...
Good luck!!! ;D
Last track was not at all suitable for me (too many sharp corners IMO). New one still has some sharp corners, but it seems overall much better for my driving style. I hope to catch the top 5 this time, but it will be difficult according to the high level of pipsqueaks' activity in WSC this season.

I'm fine thanks. Quite busy, but fine. ;)
I fear that overtaking Ayrton and/or Mark with indy and WSC rules is too hard for me. But a podium may be able sometimes according to the track (or so I hope).
Ayrton started with a not very bad time... It would be interesting to know how much he can lower furtherly his outset time... But I don't think very much... ;)
This race sounds so interesting :) I want to join. It will be my first OWOOT race since the closing of the IRC competition.
That'll be great :) If you need directions on registration and stuff just ask any of the regulars or Paleke.

I hadn't forgotten it, it's only it gets more exciting near the deadline. ;D
Else, for some mysterious reason I do not feel comfortable with the track (no clue why, it's a pretty nice design actually), so most likely Mark and the rest of you won't see the "real" me this time as welll... :D
Is Ayrton's time 1.01.05 or 1.01.50?
1.01.50
For now that's the only known bug of SSEHPTC, it doesn't show the last 0 when the time ends in 50. We (me and mostly EdR) tried to fix it, but we never could.

It seems that your mysterious reason is also mine... I don't know, I think to have raced quite well, but... there's something I missed... Trick? Path? Simply lower skill? 1,5 seconds is not a little gap, thinking also it will be increased after the deadline... I'm really curious to see who will win between Ayrton and BJ, and above their replays...
Anyway, I'm failed my main goal (not over 1 second gap from Ayrton)... ::) Let's see what will happen in next track, hoping Paleke won't place another insupportable (at least for me!) Up/Down Corkscrew! :D

What? I love up/down corkscrews! ;D My tracks (before WSC, all of them lost) used to have plenty of them, and they used to be very very long too (sometimes over 10 min). :P
1st run just done at mùy job, I'll have to do much better before the deadline 'cause I'm last right now. ;D

Well, my tracks of old usually tended to be in 4-6 minutes range... Even now when I get to design a track intended for competition I often have to build bypasses cutting off half of the track in order to make them have acceptable length ;D
As for the corks u/d, I even enjoy driving downwards on them, but definitely not upwards... ::)
I like corks up=>down when I have enough speed to jump over them (remembrance of IMSA Cup-style tracks). ;)
I like corks down=>up when I'm not force to race them (meaning, when I can cut them). :D
OK, you all understood that corks u/d (or d/u) are not my favorite track elements. ;D
I'm also looking forward to see Ayrton's 0.59.75 replay!
(just a projection, don't rush to the scoreboard)
Well, actually there is no Ayrton's 0.59.75 replay (even though I was expecting something like that too).
The problems are:
1- I'm now in the middle of a system reinstall, so my computer won't be operative for a while.
2- I have an exam on Monday, so I don't have time to do all the stuff that must be done at this point of the track.
That's why I'm announcing that the update will be delayed for a few days, but it will be for before next weekend. That's all I have to say for now, I'm off to study :-\
New track available now ;)
(just before "next weekend", Argentinian time ;D )
Great, and quite significant, victory from Bonzai Joe! Congratulations, the championship is really set on fire!! 8)
Now I need to find back some form in WSC - even if I, as well as Mark, am not exactly underperforming in relation to 2007 in terms of absolute and relative times...
Also, @Paleke (or, eventually, some other WSC pipsqueak): could you please upload replays for the last three tracks (Mexicana, The Maze and Tateti) on this thread? I'm having trouble with the Replay downloads page of the site (links seem broken) although I don't know whether there's some issue with the files or it's all my proxies' fault.
IRC rule interpretation question for the new track: are spiraling jumps off ramps allowed? By spiraling jumps, I refer to the classic trick where one enters the ramp coasting it along its edge so that the car rolls outward along the ramp guardrail and then takes off rotated sideways:
As you can see in this screenshot, which corresponds to the furthest outward position during the trick, the right side wheels are just above the guardrail, thus the car seems to be OWOOT. The polemic point that concerns me is whether grinding the walls as one could do with a skateboard should be counted as illegal exploitation of a collision bug (even though this situation is not completely distinct from the boulevard bump bug...)
Well, congratulations to BJ and Ayrton, really two fantastic races!
About me, well... after seeing replays I'm a bit more satisfied than I was before to see them. I see I contained my gap as I wanted (1 second from Ayrton) almost until the deadline, and only a wretch last jump made me more far from the first time... In fact I see my gap at the base of the last ramp is 0,80 seconds from BJ and 0,75 seconds from Ayrton (0,05 my gap after 20 seconds of race and 0,30 after 30 seconds), then they "sure" made a better choice than me... ;) Effectively, I had tried to make the same their trick in last jump, but without too much conviction, due to know that the gap was too large to be fill, and not thinking that I could save almost 1 second... ::)
Well, anyway, after seeing replay I understood where can I can improve, and I'm not talking about last jump or corkscrew... ;)
Hoping Duplode comes back soon at his top (0,75 seconds at first loop mean again not a big engagement... ;)) I attached for him what he demanded... :)
See all you on Naval scoreboard, where I think the gaps will be higher than it could seem... ;)
Too bad my fastest replay has not been considered valid, 1'14 is not a decent tuime to publish in the scoreboard... ::) ;D
Thank you! It's only my second win the last 14 months, so it means a lot, especially with Ayrton racing :). Nice jump at 35-36 seconds, Mark & Ayrton!
Ups, I've totally forgot it: Congratulatios BJ!!!
Well, replays are uploaded, so I proceed to answer this question

Well, I don't like this bug, it think (as you mentioned) it goes against one of the rules, but since I'm allowing it since long ago, I'm not considering it a penalization. Perhaps in the future I will, but not for now (I have others things in mind to do before that). When you check the replays, you'll see that Mark and Ayrton already used this bug on TATETI, and (in my opinion) they are on the very edge of the penalization.
BTW, in my opinion this bug is quite distinct from the boulebard bump jump (you aren't going through the element), but it isn't that different from the... mmmmmmh (damn it, I forgot the name of the element and I don't have Stunts on this computer to check)... let's say: "round tunnel" bug, which I also consider it goes against the same rule, but I'm also allowing it since long ago and I won't change that in the short-term.

DAMN IT! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID! (me) :D
Thanks to Mark for the files and to Paleke for the explanation... my first replay done yesterdeay is valid, then, and has just been submitted ;)
I remember doing that in IRC and getting penalty, but that was with nazi Mingva as competition manager :)
I know I had to do this before, but some personal issues didn't allow me to: Tonight is deadline, so... ::)
No improvement for me this time... :-X Sorry for the lack of commitment, it's just I delayed the necessary careful redrive a bit too much and suddenly found myself running out of time.
Well, I know I'm delayed, but I'll try to have the update ready for weekend, right now I'm busy with some personal issues.
Yep... still delayed :S
Does anyone have a track I can borrow?

Today I built a new track for WSC rules, I've just sent you it... Check your mail! ;)
Ten days later ;D
Thanks for the track, Mark. I've been quite busy but right now I have some free time so I'll try to finish the update for tonight. ;)
Congratulations to Ayrton for his third win! This time I succeded to stay more near to him (My gap could be lower, but I didn't complete a new replay when I saw that I was only 0,30 seconds better before the last Powergear tract...), but we have to say that Naval didn't permit a real selection... And also congratulations to AbuRaf70 for his first seasonal podium!
And... wow, nice to see my track (with new decorative elements added by Paleke as I suggested to him) already on-line! :) I think it could a OWOOT track with some tracts really funny and dazzling... ;)
Muchas Gracias, Mark...
Realmente estoy muy contento de haber alcanzado este podio...

Mark, er... surely you meant "second win", accounting for BJ's triumph in Round 2? It seems we're getting way too used to Ayrton's dominance here and elsewhere... :D Anyway, congratulations to him, to you and in particular to AbuRaf! Now we have five podiumers in three races - and hopefully I'll manage to join you before this season ends ::)
Now, on to round 4: Mark's is one of those innocent-looking yet deceptively hard tracks - you glance at the map and think it'll be a piece of cake, unsuspecting of how much you'll need to stretch at those devious 4th gear combos. Effective contrast to Naval, and probably pretty selective in regards to final result. My first time is already posted, hopefully this time it won't be the only one... ::)

Perfect comment... ;)
My apologies to BJ, the unique fantastic driver who succeeded to interrupt the awesome stripe of the awesome Ayrton... :)

Yes, the word "innocent" has not place for this track... :D
And, seeing your first time, it seems that "Cinema Show" will see the real Duplode, at last... ;)
Btw, I'm still waiting comments (Duplode, Krys, others...?) about the "title" of the track... And if you have not listen yet the original, please, take 10 minutes from your time and listen it from the beginning to the end... ;)
Muchas gracias, Duplode...

Oh, yes, this is the name of a Genesis song. but I don't know the album in which this song is, nor the song itself to be honest.

For quite a while I maintain some latent curiosity for listening more early 70's Genesis (i.e. before Collins took over the vocals, I'm familiar
enough with their later output), but never actually got down to hunting the stuff... ::)
Anyway, is the site working OK for you guys? I tried to visit the SSEHPTC page from behind Anonymouse (not that I have a new time, though) and was greeted by a MySQL error.
I got the same problem yesterday. I started to race new track but was unable to upload my replay...
Yeah, I've noticed this problem the other day, there seems to be something wrong with MySQL, because I can't log in the database. I'll mail Iespana to ask for help. Meanwhile, feel free to mail your replays. ;)
Well, it seems to be working now. I don't know what was the problem. ???
Damn it! I've totally forgot: LAST THREE DAYS OF RACE!!! :o
Hmmm... I've totally forgot, again :S (Sorry ;D )
Ok, I'll try to have the update ready for before the weekend (I have some others priorities to take care of first.
Well...I'm still curious about whether Ayrton actually missed the round or not :)
Yeah, we all are... :-X I mean... ;D
Well, here is the thing: I started to work again recently (a week ago), so I've been kind of unorganized, and now I'm changing my job, so I think my unorganization will last at least one week more. I'll try to have the update ready for next weekend but, as you know, that doesn't mean anything.
I'm starting to like you Paleke ;D
yes, that summary was a real beauty :)
Well, I'm not quite sure if I entirely understand the two last messages*, but... NEW TRACK AVAILABLE!!! ;D
*: nevermind
Well, finally a solid result by me, not allowing Mark to open 4-0 at head to head in a race that felt like a flashback from last year... :)
Well, I just analyzed the replay (see attached images) and... very nice corkscrew, Duplode! :)
I was a bit faster in first 30 seconds, and the same in last 25 seconds, but I lose the race in the middle... ::) Usefule lessons for me in order of the rest of the championship, which have a very exciting standing, now!
Awesome time for Sudoku, Ayrton... :o :o :o
Would you say how many minutes did you spend to realize it?

Interesting to notice my two more recent WSC victories against you were, to a large extent, due to finding a faster line through a cork l/r (before this one, Clubman 5). But let's not forget it was from you that I learnt not to understimate my speed on those corkscrews (that replay at Paraná...) ;)

Additional commentary: I did my 1:22.90 time rather quickly, in a ~15min shot. And here I was believing to have done a pretty strong opening lap... ::)

Sincerly it was the same for me, quite strong opening lap in about 15 minutes... But Ayrton is able to gift great motivations, so I decided to make less embarassing the gap, even if... I have some difficulties to see where I can find other 2 seconds... ::)

Around 30´ but for example 3/4 of the time for the first part, and very fast the last. Next try i will drive only the last part.
Ok, due to some personal issues that I have to take care of and the lack of replays of the last two weeks, I decided to delay the deadline to September 26th. Enjoy! ;D
Very convenient, this means I'll be able to perform a not (so) pedestrian effort before the deadline...
Bien Paleke... tomado nota...
Paleke: Since I left for the very last minute (literally) the sending of my final time only to find SSHETPC (or my navigator, proxy, etc.) not cooperating, I had to mail you the lap the standard way. Not that my final time will mean much by now in terms of results, but anyway just clarifying :)
The same for me: I sent my last replay (not a time that will permit me to beat Ayrton) by mail.
Yep, I know there had been some problems with the server, so I've been looking for a new one. No results so far, and no time to keep looking for now, so I'm sorry to say that things will stay the way they are for some time. :S
