February track with a special car rule: you can use any of the ORIGINAL CARS + MELANGE. But! If you choose your car, you cannot change it later. Scoreboard: CTG will race with all the cars you use - spending the same RH time with each cars (30 or 60 minutes, I'm going to refresh my times every week). Scoreboard will be done by percents of time result compared to the championship manager. It will be a very tactical race: which car can be the worst for me on that track - and which one provides the biggest gaps. ;)
Shocking! :o This is so crazy I need to think a bit more before commenting...
Tactical rule. We will have to be clever in our car choice according to CTG's weaknesses. But car choice will also depend of the track itself.

What's more: there are some cars providing very small gaps (like IMSA on easier tracks). Without knowing the future track, Countach can be the best weapon. Or not. ;D
The other tactical thing: more cars, less attention from me. If 12 pipsqueaks choose different cars, I won't have enough time and motivation to reach good results.
Possible objection #1: What if someone chooses, say, Countach and sends a replay only in the final days so you don't have any time to make a decent lap? Shall we close the entry list after the second week?

Good point. I think something like that should be done. Otherwise, someone can driver with different cars and then send the one he sees is the best choice. Deadline to join should be applied.

Very good point of view. Let's say you have to confirm your car choice in e-mail. After publishing the rack you will have a week to test it without scoreboard and you can decide your choice.

That should work... the only other point is that one week might be too short for some potential pipsqueaks lacking time to race for any reason. I'd suggest making public the car choices done at the first week and then limiting any late pipsqueaks' entries to those cars. It would make the race more "open cards" as well.

Actually, thinking back this could cause problems as well... what if only two or three people send their choices on first week? It could become quite uniteresting then. A "10"-day deadline (three days after frst week or something like it) to join might still be necessary...
Track is ready, try to find out which car to use. You have to decide it before the deadline of Tarj?n.
Problem is the human factor. CTG can help his favorite drivers with lazy racing while he's able to punish others with taking it more seriously. I don't like this system. I'll pick the one with the most competitors to avoid that punishment.
I feel that Chulk will disagree with my point of view. :P
Not only Chulk. Me too! Car choices won't be public only if the race started and you can't change it.

Oh, we're not supposed to tell you our answer in this topic ? I was about to tell mine. Well, I'll send a PM instead. ;D
Great. What about not publishing them at all before it's own deadline, just a percentage compared to my replay?

So that nobody know which car are the others using? That sound good.
More suspense is always good... ;)
So, which cars are allowed? Only original + Melange or any other cheat car with semi-realistic features (we can never say totally realistic in Stunts... ;)) such as Coronar, Speedgate, Duplode's car (I can't remember the name, something like LWT 1 Mark...) can be picked too?
CTG mentioned before it was the "standard set" (originals + Melange).

Duplode's car (I can't remember the name, something like LWT 1 Mark...)
LWT-ZR1 GTC Mark I... I agree some "nickname" more agreeable to the ears would be preferable :)
11 cars from the original game + Melange XGT-88.

Yes, that sounds funny. I aggree.
You can send your car confirmation via e-mail! First test showed that I'll have some problems with certain cars... :)

'LWT-ZR1 GTC Mark I' won't be accepted as the car of the race. ;D

LWT - Lightweight tuning
ZR1 - (Corvette) ZR1 :)
GTC - Actually it should be GT3, for the FIA GT category specifications...

That's adequate for the moment, for I'm considering updating the specs to a slightly revised 'Mark II' edition moderately soon... ;)

Then maybe we can call it Corvette GT3 or simply GT3...
4 confirmation arrived so far with 4 different cars. I won't have an easy month I guess... ;D
I made a very first test with all the possible cars - auto trm, "just not to crash" mode (RH was used to avoid crashes...). I started with Indy, then came other cars in random orther (that explains my crappy Indy lap, even worse than my other car performance at this very quick test). So:
55.60 - Porsche March Indy
57.05 - Melange XGT-88
58.00 - Porsche 962 IMSA
58.35 - Jaguar XJR IMSA
1:12.30 - Ferrari GTO
1:15.25 - Audi Quattro Sport
1:16.65 - Lancia Delta Integrale
1:16.80 - Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
1:19.85 - Acura NSX
1:20.90 - Lamborghini Countach
1:22.20 - Porsche Carrera 4
1:28.80 - Lamborghini LM002
These are the official CTG results for the first few days of the race, I'll improve them in pack - after knowing all the car choices (improving only with the chosen cars).
Edit: First updates are coming soon
Well, I did quick try with Indy using Manual transmission and got 1.03, so it's not so bad :)
1:03??? Strange. I haven't reached powergear.
Okay, it wasn't so quick test, about 4-5 minutes/car...
5 confirmations, 5 cars... DAMN!!! ;D
Edit: already 6/6...
Hard work for CTG it seems. I really like this rule!
I'm getting mad, Bonsai Tree told me another car (not for sure yet)... :D
Important: you can still modify your car choice before the beginning of the race.
For those who want to join later: they can choose only from the 'already used cars' list.
Is there a place in Visegrád to an 'old and almost retired pipsqueak'? ???
I am thinking of participating with you in this step. ::)
Hugs...
Darkie
Of course you are welcome! ;)
Check the track, choose a car and confirm it in e-mail!
Off-topic: racing topics of USC are renamed a bit because of the special character problems.
I will choose a car and then I tell you, CTG ...
Hugs ... ;D
Darkie started to drink I guess. ;D
Just to remember, official times for this weekend:
55.60 - Porsche March Indy
57.05 - Melange XGT-88
58.00 - Porsche 962 IMSA
58.35 - Jaguar XJR IMSA
1:12.30 - Ferrari GTO
1:15.25 - Audi Quattro Sport
1:16.65 - Lancia Delta Integrale
1:16.80 - Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
1:19.85 - Acura NSX
1:20.90 - Lamborghini Countach
1:22.20 - Porsche Carrera 4
1:28.80 - Lamborghini LM002
Bold: confirmed cars, later only these cars will be updated.
Okay this is looking good for Indy guy... Maybe it's me? :)
It will change when I turn to manual transmission... :D
Anyway results will be shown as normalized to Indy lap.
AbuRaf 70 - 1:02.95, the first replay of this contest
Oh, you are going to race more with each car?

Yes but I already told: improvements are coming in pack. ;)

I thought scoreboard would have OUR TIME/CTG'S TIME in percentage, instead of an INDY normalized time.

Why publish his time ? ???
You should publish the difference between your time (with the same car) and his time.

I thought scoreboard would have OUR TIME/CTG'S TIME in percentage, instead of an INDY normalized time.
But isn't it the same thing? Published time = (our chosen car time / CTG same car time)*CTG indy time... CTG just multiplied the percentages by a factor (his Indy time) to have a normal-looking scoreboard.
Duplode is totally right. I checked AbuRaf's time with his car, then checked mine.
1:02.95 = (AbuRaf's time with his chosen car/my time with AbuRaf's chosen car)*my Indy time (55.60)
But if you prefer percentage: 113.2% ;)
Would you like to see percents or normalized times to any cars? (maybe a semi-rapid car would be better for normalizing, just to make lap times more or less realistic)
Still Indy normalized laps
Chulk 52.50
Bonzai Joe 48.45
Duplode 50.85
Dottore 55.15
I like normalized times better; however there's a problem I just noticed: if you update your times, and thus the ratios get refreshed, anybody who races with the normalization car will, unlike everyone else, have his/hers scoreboard time completely unchanged - and thus that particular car choice will be easy to spot. Thus, it's probably better to normalize with one of the unused car times (a bit strange indeed) or not normalize at all.
But then you can calculate the cars of each pipsqueaks even with percentages... (from my improvement ---> their percantage change). You are absolutely right about the Indy pipsqueaks. I'm going to keep normalization but let's say you are all normalized to a one minute replay in the whole month. ;)
Still Indy normalized laps
Chulk 52.50
Bonzai Joe 48.45
Duplode 50.85
Dottore 55.15
Normalized to 1:00.00:
Bonzai Joe 52.30
Duplode 54.85
Chulk 56.65
Dottore 59.55
CTG 1:00.00
AbuRaf70 1:07.30
First improvement pack is in progress, only Melange and Lancia are missing.
I like better the 1 minute reference style.
Although mathematically it's not different... :D Current leaders will be over 1 minute soon. ;)
But to make it more interesting, I also won't publish my times - it will be always 1:00.00, only your time will move compared to this. So you can calculate my time with your own car but can't with the others. ;)
First round of CTG's attack:
Bonzai Joe 52.30 ---> 1:00.70
Duplode 54.85 ---> 1:01.00
Chulk 56.65 ---> 1:06.15
Dottore 59.55 ---> 1:02.90
CTG 1:00.00 ---> 1:00.00
AbuRaf70 1:07.30 ---> 1:14.05
Nice performance there, Duplode and Dottore :) You almost caught up with me
Hey their time did not change! Only mine... ;)
(So congratulations to CTG for completing such a nice lap with BJ's car and shame on CTG for not being able to beat Duplode and Dottore by a bigger difference with their cars) ;D
And my car? I haven't raced yet and don't know the reference time, only the 1:00.00.
Sent via e-mail.
Very fine the new scoreboard scheme :)
1:00.00 base is great. No calculation is possible. See you all in scoreboard!
Indy and GTO drivers have a great chance to make a good result at the end: I just discovered some possible powergear tricks on this track that I can't do with minimal racing time...
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey... there is/are GTO drivers in the pack!!! Sorry for removing...
Explanation: Bonzai Joe uploaded a replay with Ferrari GTO and a possible powergear way. It wouldn't be fair with non-GTO drivers to keep it on the Forum.
Well... I don't hink anyone using that power gear way would get very good results :D Apart from the 1:30 penalty time, getting into power gear takes about 20-30 seconds in itself.
Sorry then... :D
7 new replays from CTG, update is coming in the night.
Somehow I feel my main problem will be Indy and GTO...
Duplode is leading again - he makes me mad, I have to improve with all the cars... :D
Bah... I just saw Duplode's new time (update soon). It's really strong...
Total hiding?!? I'm quite ill at the moment - I think I'm going to improve only on the last day (if I feel any better). If I can't... well Duplode will have a big luck then. :)
Here comes the new pack of replays with 10-10 minutes of playing with each cars. Unfortunately I couldn't improve with Chulk's car, while Duplode's one worked better now (I had a good semi-replay when I finished racing last time). All the other replays were improved with smaller or bigger difference - but this one wasn't the last try from me. Next shot comes with the deadline. ;)
Good to know you couldn't improve with my car, I couldn't either as I was focused on Acura's replay and now I'm studying hard for an exam next week. But I'll find some time to try to improve it. Even if I have to fail the exam! (No stallin way!!! :D)
PS: f.ucking is replaced by Stallin here, not skiding...
No time to update, so:
Dottore - 59.70
AbuRaf70 - 1:05.10
CTG - 1:02.90
Now it turns out... Duplode decreased his time heavily and from now he's the main aspirant for victory. And maybe Mark too, leaving his replay for the very last moment. I'll try to make another 10-10 minutes with all the cars, but it seems that powergear cars need more time to make a really good lap - and now I don't have that time. So: 5 weak and 2 damned weak replays from CTG...
I won't win, but I sent an improvement anyway (finally, just about time !).

Not arrived yet, Freemail is not very stable in the last few days. Results will be official only tomorrow evening (tomorrow I have to work very early).
Unfortunately I had very little windows to race this month. I realized a first trial in the first days. Then I had begun to make a second replay in the middle of the month, but I had to stop it... I came back to drive this evening after about 10 days. I had almost forgotten the deadline... ::) I've just completed and sent my second attempt in hurry, so don't expect a great result from me...
Krys: please re-send your replay! Not arrived - since that I got some replays from other pipsqueaks to the same address (Freemail seems to be fine again).
Mark: you are just behind my final Indy time. Not that bad. ;)
Race is (almost) over, so let's see the cars of each pipsqueaks:
Porsche March Indy: AbuRaf 70, Mark L. Rivers, CTG
Melange XGT-88: Dottore
Ferrari GTO: Duplode
Lamborghini Countach: Bonzai Joe
Chevrolet Corvette: Chulk
Audi Quattro: CTG
Lancia Delta Integrale: Krys Toff
Results: Thursday evening or in extreme lucky case in the morning (partly depending on Töff's replay).
Damn, gotta go to work (at least one hour late :(). Additional info before the evening update: if Dottore really leaves out the last round, Mark still has a chance to win the title. ;)

Yes it arrived later in the night.
Another addition... to make you totally mad ;D: somebody reached his first podium ever, thanks to the his great car choice and a brilliant replay (never seen such a high level one from him before). Are you hungry for the results? Update comes around midnight!
Site updated (replays, stats and WRL too).
Congratulations to Duplode for choosing the most difficult car (or at least the most difficult for poor CTG :D) and for his nice cuts on the track with it!
Well done, CTG! First podium ever, incredible high level replay with Indy beating the car's specialst Mark and the manager too! Wonderful performance! ---> MOR
I'm proud of all the pipsqueaks for making such a good race, maybe except Bonzai Joe. ;) :P
SEE YOU ON THE LAST TRACK TOO!
I haven't saw the replays yet, anyway really congratulations to Duplode and CTG! :)
Congratulations to Duplode and CTG!
The best thing with special rule contests is the fact that surprise can happen. ;)
Very unpredictable results for a predictably interesting race... I'm extremely pleased with myself for suceeding to pull off a nice GTO race - I do have it as a personal favourite car :) And unrelinquishable MOR for Zweitgelt, a very smart lap which not only hints at strong potential but has a very high chance of putting my intentions of reaching 5th place overall at bay. Congratulations!
