I am creating a point system that fits this type of competition (so far with input from CAS and Alanrotoi)
and I think i have the basic setup ready. 

The current concept is based on 4 incentives.
[*]Top ten fastest times get points (kind of standard)
[*]of the remaining times, Top 3 per car gets points (best of the rest and incentive to drive different cars)
[*]bonus points for uploading times with all available cars. (incentive to participate with all cars)
[*]increasing bonus for consecutive race participation (incentive to return every month)

Only the best time per player per car is shown on the scoreboard.
If for a car all the times end up in the top 10, no aditional points are given.

Turns out not to be really fair. Those up the scoreboard already get a lot of points. These 5 extra don't mean much.
For those lower on the scoreboard they are more meaningful.
[*]I am thinking of combining these two in a way. But only apply them to Replays that are left without points after the top 10 and the car points are given. 

For now. I have changed it to. If you post a replay with all allowed cars you get a minimum of 1 point per sent replay.

I don't know if this is a balanced system. I also don't know if it is fair. 
I do think it will be fun, and possibly make it more exiting in the lower ranks.
