Best players of the first games:

- Marc?o, 28 years: a strong left defender attacking very well.
- Jadson, 20 years: a very creative midfielder, 4 goals, top scorer of championship. It's a very intelligent player, a rare type of game in today's brazillian football: good long passes.
- Fernandinho, 18 years: he scored the goal of gave the World Championship U21 to Brazil. Very fast midfielder-attacker.

Tonight the Bundesliga (German First League) will start into it's second half and tomorrow Werder Bremen will probably make another step towards championship.

Just so you know :)

Washington is a attacker who played on International Squad, years ago. He had heart problems (two opperations) and back to sport, last sunday, scoring the first goal on Atl?tico 3:0 Paran?... He's the good side of the history...

Look how is ugly the new shirt of Brazil:

They looks like snooker balls...
The first, is the goalkeeper shirt
The second, the official shirt
The third, the away...

Hey, Leo. As you so addicted on football, maybe you could get a brazilian football yearbook? I'm interesting in player profiles (date of birth, place, height, weight, stats from previous seasons, player photo) and team facts from national championship, and if available - from second divison too.

But foolish hungarians has no interest to join to my team because they're concerned about the difference in language and lifestyle :x

my brother just brought a small Polish team Orlen Plock to the top 8 of the Chapions League :)
his problem is that only 5 international players can play at the same time, the others must be Polish. So Maldini has to stay on the bench, he is not that good. :)

Today is anniversary of the city of Curitiba: 311 years... about the picture of last post. Who are they?
Left to Right:
First line:
Geninho (coach 01/02)
Djalma Santos (late 60's - International Player)
Caju (40's - International Goalkeeper)
Alfredo (50's? 60's? - If I'm not wrong, Caju is father or uncle of Alfredo)
J?lio (70's?)
Zanetti (40's? 50's? 60's?)
M?rio Celso Petraglia (president - actual coucil's president)

Second Line:
Alex Mineiro (2001-2003)
Assis (Early 80's - International Player)
Kl?berson (199?-2003 - today in Man Utd - International Player)
Sicupira (late 60's and 70's - the greatest scorer of club's history - curious detail: midfielder...)
Jackson (late 40's and 50's)
Cireno (late 40's and 50's - Jackson and Cireno was the fantastic offensive double of 1949's Hurricane, team what gave the nickname to club...)

Brazilian surprise is the attacker Lu?s Fabiano.
23 years (he'll turn 24 this year...)...
Lu?s Fabiano is former Ponte Preta & Rennes and today is THE S?o Paulo's Star...
Ronaldo will not play...
Ronaldinho Ga?cho I believe what will play...

Brazil:
Strong Points: attack - personal plays...

Weak Points: not creative midfield - confused defense

Hey Leo, you know only a few about Hungarian football. Our defence is simply CRAPPY! Ireland is a lot better team, in my view they are in the second class of European football (some examples: 1st class - Italy, 2nd class - Belgium, 3rd class - Slovenia, 4th class - Hungary, 5th class - Lithuania, 6th class - Lichtenstein).

They had a bad day but they are still a bad team 'technically',add to that that the national team manager does not even invite the best of the small pool of decent players germany has atm the loss was no surprise.I was actually cheering on the enemy and was hoping romania would make a 2 digit win.

And next EM they belong to the worst 1/4 of the teams IMO.
Of course outside the EM there are a lot of teams 'usually' being worse like lithuania or hungary.......

I don't know what's his economical situation but there are several referees that plays for the local team or for the stronger team (Brazilian team is not only stronger in football, there are a lot of economical interests, companies that they want this team in the World Cup and so).

The 1st penalty was very doubtful. The second one was right. and the third... God! I can see a wrap of paper money on his pocket!! or a title of a house :) Cavallero didn't touch Ronaldo.

I agree with Leo, but the Argentinians were unlucky I think, they missed a lot of chances. Ronaldo himself won the match for Brazil.

Have you heard that:

GERMANY 0
HUNGARY 2

Goal: Torghelle (8., 32.)

What a surprise!

Hot News

Solomon Islands footballers upset the odds by knocking New Zealand out of World Cup qualifying after a determined 2-2 draw with Oceania region heavyweights Australia in Adelaide Sunday.

The point from the draw was enough to kill off New Zealand and go through to next year's Oceania play-off against Australia in a major upset in the six-nation tournament.

Alan: use "isn't he" instead of "don't him". Sorry for correcting grammar.

AGF are doing great this year! With 25 points in 15 matches, we are 4th in the league. And remember the last 7 years' results: 8-10-10-8-10-10-8 (of 12)
Today, we are playing the Cup Quarter Final, an away match against AC Horsens, current leaders of Division 1 (second best league). So it will be hard. AC Horsens already beat two Superliga teams...

Title: brazilians in Lithuania
Post by: Mingva on December 22, 2004, 11:47:36 AM
This week 3 new players arrived to champion FBK Kaunas for a 1 month trial. They are brazilians: defender Vanin (161cm, 20 years) from "FC America" (former member of Guarani), midfielder Dion (182cm, 19 years) from "Atletico Paranence" (former member of brazilian U-18 and U-20), forward Fabian (176cm, 18 years) from "FC America". Do you heard about them, Leo? Are they good and prospect?

Soon should arrive one more player from Ecuador - Carlos Valverde who played in Argentina for "Rosario Central" club and was a member of Ecuadoran U-20 team.

Kaunas team coach apologized that it's hard to communicate with brazilians as they speak only in portuguese

La de arriba es Luciana Salazar que es enlechable hasta el hartazgo pero a la otra no la reconozco...

I asked about Valverde.. Nobody knows here.

BTW you can search info here: http://www.rosariocentral.com/

The next Dec 24th is the 115th birthday of Rosario Central ;) One of the oldest clubs here I guess.

QuoteThey are brazilians: defender Vanin (161cm, 20 years) from "FC America"
He's not one of the two famous "Vanin"...

Quote(former member of Guarani), midfielder Dione (182cm, 19 years) from "Atletico Paranaense" (former member of brazilian U-18 and U-20),
He never played on main squad, because there is a lot of players on this position on club (Alan Bahia, Fabiano Viegas, Pingo, Raulen). The people who looks the junior teams likes this player...

I don't know...

Dione probably won't play for Kaunas because of huge transfer fee - 800k euros. Team boss and owner Vladimiras Romanovas bought some shares of scottish club Hearts. Maybe the new brazilians only training here in Lithuania and later they'll join to Hearts.

This year one young brazilian tried to join Kaunas but he failed to impress team manager.
