What kind of sports do you like to do in your free time? Or do you have any other special activities?

(Topic is dedicated to Usrin who felt that walking is offtopic :))
Long distance running, hiking and biking (but I'm afraid the latter is offtopic HERE :)) - sports which need rather endurance instead of special skills (like ball sense) or really strong muscles.
Every freetime activities are in topic here. Even biking or beer drinking. :)
sports: riding my bike, running, hiking (oops the same as Usrin's :)), football
freetime: drinking in pubs, attending garden parties, getting to know new people, metnet, driving stunts, taking photographs, talking on msn (or rarely, on chat), thinking about things, writing, table football etc.
Watching handball 8)
Football as a sport and biking to go everywhere (in order to save money) Free time is mainly used to read, a little is spent to watch football on TV and Stunts, visiting friends and (of course!) being with my girl.
I like to read good novels, go for long walks in the day and mainly the night, find strange places, write prose and poetry (but it happens much to rarely), write music, (but it happens much too rarely), post on internet forums (apart from this one, I am mainly active on The Cure's, and Adom9's), listen to music (yes, that can be a full activity too), go biking, play football (but it happens much too rarely), get drunk alone or with others.
I must add that most of my life goes on inside my mind. In there, it is really interesting, like an infinite landscape with lots of energy but random physical laws. But outside my mind I just waste a lot of my time.
Listening to music and getting drunk! How did I forgot that :?: :?: :!: :!:

Zak, how tall are you exactly? I think we can compete in BMI. :)
(Me: 178 cm, 63 kgs --> BMI=19,88 )
183/59 BMI=17.6
176/96, 30.99 oh LOL. :-D
Comparison: I was 84 kgs at WSM 2004.
Quote from: "zaqrack"183/59 BMI=17.6
I would have to work out too much for reaching this value. :D
CTG: no comment...
Beer stomach is a bigger fashion than worked out body. :D:D:D
What is BMI? Can you tell me mine?
179/73 Thanks
Many lightweights here
I would be cruiserweight.... but the difference between cruiser and light heavy is to big imo ;)
Should be: Cruiserweight - 185 lbs
Heavy - 200 lbs
Superheavy - unlimited
BMI= Body mass index. KG/Size*Size
BMI(Chulk) = 73/1.79*1.79=22.7833
That's nearly ideal weight!
Underweight: x<20
Ideal weight: 20<x<25
Overweight: 25<x<30
Adipositas: x<30 (dangerous overweight)
So Zak and Usrin are to skinny and CTG is way to fat... but we knew that already
You told nothing new. But I was sure this one will be a message you will reply for with such an insultive shitty post.
How was that insultive?
Chulk asked about BMI and I explained.

Hey, "underweight" category starts under 18.5, so my weight is perfect. :D

Take it easy guys. It's not a "Weight Contest"! :D
My ideal weight is 62-77 kgs. Big LOL. I'm over 62 kgs even without fat. My bones are very thick and my muscle weight is relatively high too. My minimal weight must be around 70-72 kgs. BMI is a useful number, but it's not the Holy Bible.
I asked for a girl in the university how heavy I look. She tipped that I weigh 80 kilogramms. The sad truth is that I weigh 89... It's not really apparent, but I have a nice little belly now... skid off Borsodi Beer!
My BMI:
89/(1.89*1.89)=24.91
I've looked for some real calculating methods as a help in losing weight. It turned out that my lean body mass (0% fat) is 64 kgs, more than the one with BMI=20. I also found some calorie burning counters. With my lifestyle, I need about 2500 calories per day to keep my weight and not to increase it. Usually I eat 3000-4000...
Quote from: "Argammon"BMI(Chulk) = 73/1.79*1.79=22.7833

Most calculators use the Krys way though ;D.But that's not the only correct interpretation.
Yes CTG,there are different phenotypes. Some gain weight far easier than others and have a heavier body built even without fat.But they usually gain muscle mass way faster also.

/Mathematics lesson ON
If you mean a result as
22.xxx, then you need to write 73/(1.79*1.79).
Without "(" and ")", operations must be done in the order they are written, therefore 73/1.79*1.79 means "written on paper" (as argammon says) :
73
-------- * 1.79 = 73
1.79
Mathematically, * and / must be done before + and -.
But there is no order between + and -, and no order between / and *.
This is a mathematic rule, not an interpretation.
Let me give example : 2+3*5=17, and not 25.
* has priority compared to +, so first you must calculate 3*5=15, and then calculate 15+2=17.
But 73*1.79/1.79=73/1.79*1.79=73. No priority order, operations must be done in the order they are written.
Same thing for 2+3-1=2-1+3=4. No priority order.
You need to write 73/(1.79*1.79) to have 22.xxxx has a result.
Anyway, as Argammon says, some bad calculators do not recognize the operation priorities, so 2+3*5 would give 25 as a result.
This is wrong. To have 25 as a result, you have to write (2+3)*5.
Ask your mathematics teacher if you want confirmation. :-D

Krys is right but Argie's theory is rational too. :)
No it's not, he's just trying to escape being corrected. But I know that Argammon is a very strong mathematician and that Krys' lesson goes way below his level, so it really doesn't matter anyway. He wrote it wrong, but he knows what he's talking about.
let a real mathematic answer it :):

that's right, but Argammon didn't said it :-D

Quote from: "Renato Biker"just have care with your words, "operation priorities" is wrong, it's a defined operation orders, not a prioeities
Well, I didn't know how to say it in english, this is my own translation from french way to say it : "priorit? de la multiplication et de la division sur l'addition et la soustraction, sauf si l'addition et/ou la soustraction sont entre parenth?ses" = do * and / before + and - except if + and/or - are between "(" and ")".
I wrote the French sentence because I know Argammon understands French. :D

I know too that Argammon is strong in mathematics, that's why I couldn't let this small mistake uncorrected. :-D
I do not pretend to be a good mathematicians, but I know the basics of it for sure.
About the mathematic level of these "defined operation orders" (hey, see Renato : I use the proper words now  ), this is for sure a low level of mathematics : my daughter is only 6 years old and she already knows it.
Edit : let's have some mathematical fun in

She is not interested in racing games except when she can do funny crashes AND continue racing.
She likes Destruction Derby for example.
Crash in Stunts means race stop, she doesn't like it.
Let's go back to original topic : which sport during our freetime ?
For me, it's running, football or cycling with my children when weather is good, and sex whatever the weather ! :-D (edit : with my wife, not with my children, do not misunderstood me  )
I like to work out: the two favorite muscle exercises are to train my monitor watching and bottle lifting muscles... :D
The whole thing is kinda funny.
Note how I used the word 'shall'
I forgot the brackets,big deal.
The excuse was that I only wrote the term in one line because we are writing in lines on the computer while I had the paper term
xyz
-----
ass*sdfa
in mind......
Thus using / for ----
Of course it usually needs brackets in this case.Although you can always reason you don't.But that's because you can deny a lot with mathematics......
This math thing is bullshit from now. Let's talk about beers. Ooops it's another topic. :)
Yesterday I took part in M?trab?rc endurance hike (distance: 56 km, altitude gain: 2930 m) again. I managed to improve my time since last year's 11:17; now the way took me 10:19, with which I reached 126th place.
