The usual annual topic for football hooligans. ;D
Finally!!! Zolt?n Gera might go back to Premier League from West Bromwich Albion (Championship 1). Middlesbrough, Portmouth and Aston Villa wants to buy him. It only depends on the managers of WBA...
It seems young Hungarian players are a lot better than the current generation. We have some really talented young players, especially in MTK (N?meth, Hrepka, Kanta, Dud?s) and there are some good players in abroad too (Priskin - Watford, Filkor - Inteznazionale, Stieber - Aston Villa junior team). Adding the few good older players (D?rdai, Huszti, Gera, F?l?p) and some mediorce ones (Bajz?t, Stark, Halmosi, Rajczi, Tisza, T?zs?r and some others I forgot) - and we would get a great team, having chance against some pretty strong European teams like Norway, Switzerland, Romania or Serbia.
Nobody is interested in football? What about the sucking series of Chelsea? Or Serie B's new leader, Juventus? Or the future of so called "stars", like gay Beckham or fat Ronaldo?

I don't care about Chelsea mercenary team,
I don't care about "Galactic" status players as they are way too much paid for what they do,
I don't care about cheating Juventus.
But :
I'm happy Manchester United was beaten by Arsenal because English championship need to be sharper than it is,
I'm happy that Paul Le Guen is new PSG manager,
I'm happy that Lyon is still qualified on every competition possible (French league cup, French cup, Champions league and of course the French championship),
I'm happy that Spanish championship is so interesting and sharp between FC Barcelone, FC S?ville, Real Madrid, Valence and Atletico Madrid. This championship is so far the most interesting of Europe, just before German one.
Whohohoho, Lyon sucked! It seems Bordeaux has not only good wine but a good team too. ;D

2nd loss in a row for Lyon, but only their 3rd loss since the beginning of the championship.
Lyon still has 14 points more than Bordeaux and Marseille. French championship is not interesting, too much difference between Lyon and other teams, like it was for Marseille a dozen years ago.
I prefer Spanish championship because difference between teams are minimal : only 4 points between the leader and the 5th team. :)
Then you will like this:

Wow, only 3 points between 2nd and 16th place !!! :o :o :o
This is a championship where goal-average is THE key. :D
But as for French championship, the winner was clearly above the others. Battle for podium is not as interesting as battle for champion title.

Troyes-Olympique Lyon 1-0 (Nivet 94.)
Since the beginning of the season, Lyon had the bad habit to win in the last minutes.
After the winning of Marseille (French Cup) and now Troyes, this is the opposite that happened to them.
Anyway, they still have 11 points more than the 2nd in championship classification... ::)
Why are you a Lyon fan when you are from the Paris area?
Don't try to understand the horny Frenchman. Testosteron made him mad. ;D

I'm a fan of all French team for European competitions. And Lyon is the one with the best potential for European champions league.
For French championship I'm a fan of Auxerre, but they suck actually. :-\
Living near a city won't make me a fan of this city team, there are lot of Marseille fans at my job for examples. Of course, there are also PSG fans, but not only.
What can be said is that there are Marseille fans everywhere in France including at Paris, but I don't think that there are PSG fans living far away from Paris.
Very strange... In Denmark you generally just like your local team, or the team from the place where you grew up. People from rural areas without good football teams usually like either the nearest city-team or Br?ndby or FCK.

I wonder what happened to our football in the past two years. During the Mattheus era we had some really great matches (beating Germany and Scotland, tight match with Argentina and Sweden) and our clubs were slightly better in international cups.
Now, few months after the "great" battle against the world class team of Malta: coach says we are weaker than Cyprus. What the hell??? It can't be. Malta was just a fatal mistake. Well, I was wrong. Our new young team sucked the big war dick again:
Cyprus - Hungary 2-1 (1-0)
Next opponent is Latvia. They will execute us.
Tonight : France - Argentina.
No official match between us since 1986 and the Platini era !!! (victory 2-1 for France in 1986 but overall we played 9 official matchs and won only 2 of them while Argentina won 4).
Zidane, Deschamps and the others World Champions in 1998 and European Champions in 2000 never played versus Argentina.
I hope to see a great match.
LOL ! Post 2501 => status = "Drinks Stunts". Cheers !
Bit better result for today:
Hungary - Latvia 2-0, we finished third from 4 teams (1 Bulgaria, 2 Cyprus)
Interesting fact: all the 3 goals of Hungary was scored by Tam?s Priskin, former player of Gy?ri ETO. Now he's at Watford (last place of Premier League), but his asshole coach doesn't let him play.

Hungarian player in Serie A: Messina bought Zsolt Bogn?r (backward) from Ferencv?ros!
Little success for Hungary.
Championship (England, second class):
Barnsley - Hull 3-0, all the goals were scored by Hungarian players - Istv?n Ferenczi (twice), P?ter Rajczi. English second class is full of good Hungarian players, I hope some of their teams will qualify to Premier League this season.

Does that mean that the level of Serie A and NB II Eastern Group (where Ferencv?ros plays) are so close to each other? ;)
REAC - Gy?ri ETO 2-0. Hopeless...
NB II Group East restarted after the winter break!
Szolnok - B?k?scsaba 2-0
Baktal?r?nth?za - Kazincbarcika 2-2
;)
YEAH!!! Ferencv?ros - Szolnok 0-0!!! Oh, poor Fradi! ;D They'll have a really hard fight for the 1st place with Ny?regyh?za... now both teams have 41 pts. (3.: Szolnok, 30 pts.)
Next weekend we will play against Kazincbarcika in the lion's cave of Szolnok. I'll be there! ;)
Kazincbarcika seems to be in poor form (today: Kazincbarcika-J?szap?ti 1-1), so I predict a 3-goal victory for Szolnok. (8.: Kazincbarcika, 22 pts... 15.: J?szap?ti, 14 pts.)
Now I'm going to check the prediction of MLSZ'99 for the game of next week!
Hm... it predicts a thin victory, and it says we'll have to polish our attacks. :-\
I hope at least the weather conditions will be better. :)

Hmm some results from the WCH:
Hungary-Canada 19-3 (men)
Hungary-New Zealand 21-5 (men)
Hungary-Cuba 19-4 (women)
Hungary-New Zealand 17-7 (women)
These teams are qualified for the WCH, unlike France, so I guess we would beat France by more goals.

In the mid 80s we had another great team, beating Brazil 3-0 in 1986. In the World Cup we arrived as one of the secret contenders of the title, but suffered a demoralizing 0-6 against the Soviet Union, nobody understood that defeat... We didn't even survive the group phase, which was a huge disappointment... That's where Hungarian football started to be sick, very very sick...

I saw that on TV. Not so lolish, a few players and one referee were injured.
And it's not on the video but just when the match was continuing after numerous minutes of interruption, it started to rain so hard that the referee had to stop the match because of it.
Obviously, "God" didn't want this match to be played this day.

DIRTY ASSHOLE ENGLISH FOOTBALL!! skid OFF MANCHESTER, LIVERPOOL, CHELSEA!!!
UEFA Champions League FA Cup :-\
Strange results in 21st round of NB II Group East... Ferencv?ros and Ny?regyh?za also had 48 points (without any match lost) before the round; Ferencv?ros was leading with better goal difference.
Then yesterday afternoon:
J?szber?ny(16th!) - Ny?regyh?za 3-2
So Ferencv?ros had the chance for leading the scoreboard with a 3 point advantage. But in the evening, they also sucked! ;D
Ferencv?ros - Kecskem?t(9th) 1-3
With this victory, Kecskem?t overtook Kazincbarcika, because:
Kazincbarcika - Orosh?za(5th) 1-2
Szolnok (3th, 37 pts) will play in J?szap?ti today. If we win, we can start to get closer to the two leaders...
The trainer should be sacked in Kazincbarcika I think...
?l??l??l??l??l??????, faszszop? Fagyika!!! ;D
J?szap?ti - Szolnok 0-3
So the advantage of the leaders (Ferencv?ros and Ny?regyh?za) ahead of us decreased to 8 points. Everything is possible in the next 9 rounds! ;)

D.A.D. - I won't cut my hairI got hair in my ears
I got hair in my nose
I got hair on my back
And between my toes
When the time comes and my hairwash is due
I'm gonna use one ton of shampoo
But don't give me those sentimental eyes
'Coz I'm proud and my hair is nice
It's not fair when people they stare
I love the colours I wear
I wont cut my hair
I wont cut my hair
Oh no, I wont cut my hair
'Coz I'm proud of my hair
It's like in the funny fairytale
I dry my hair the Rapunzel way
You just climb up the six floors
To my hairy home
And I'll fix u a smoke in the blend of my own
Yeah, I'll make you a hot pot of tea
Take off your clothes and feel free
And get down in my hair
And make me insane
Lets get airborn on a window-pain
It's not fair when people they stare...
I'll diiiiie without my hair
Yeah right I play in the band
And I would love to be your private disneyland
I'll be your own amusement park
Then you can ride me
And ride me after dark
If they send me to the rows of death
For having illegal dope
I will order my last meal
Before it's the chair
Hamburger French fries'n'coke
Take those scissors away
I wont cut my hair

Gy?ri ETO stayed in first class after a great whitewash against Di?sgy?r (4-0). Dirty REAC played a draw with Feh?rv?r (2-2), P?cs couldn't beat V?c (1-1). P?cs goes down.
I wonder what the Danish think about the DEN-SWE match played today (ECH qualyfier, suspended after 3-3, 90th minute when the referee sent off a Danish player and gave a penalty to Sweden)!
Good result today : France 2-0 Ukraine
Good result today (for the Greek team):
Greece - Hungary 2-0
Tonight's match was a very surreal experience, and also the most entertaining football match I have ever watched on TV. Particularly because I watched it together with crowd of both danish and swedish people (at Dinmor's birthday party)
After the total hopelesness of the first half and the total ecstasy of the second half, the ending was just too weird to be real. I am a bit shocked that they decided to end the match. I mean, it's not the first time a spectator goes crazy (he tried to hit the referee)
SCREW IT, I DON'T GIVE A skid :D :D ;D :D ;D
And was the penalty deserved for the Swedish? What happened there? What did the Danish player (who was sent off) do there?
I'm not sure the penalty was fair, depends on the rules. The danish player, Christian Poulsen, hit Rosenberg on the stomach, so he should definitely be sent off, but it happened far away from the ball. In the penalty area though... I guess it was fair enough.
LET'S GO KAZINCBARCIKA!!! 8)
Yeah this time I say the same, skid off Fagyi.
Second class derby:
Ferencv?ros - KBSC 4-0 in half-time. My previous tip (7-1) is coming closer and closer... ;D

As far as I know, if the ball is in play, it doesn't matter if the foul is close to the ball, the referee has to call it. In this case penalty was well given to Sweden.
As for Aarhus GF, as you may remember, last season they were relegated to the 2nd league (1st Division) after 29 years in the 1st league (Super league).
Now, as the season nears the end, the promotion battle is looking very exciting for AGF! After the other main contenders, Fredericia, lost to Herf?lge this Sunday, AGF has the chance to get a 3-point lead before the last 3 rounds, which will increase the chance of promotion to about 90% (but AGF is certainly capable of missing such an opportunity).

(purple: other local teams, which you should all also cheer on :))
The last four rounds:
N?stved - AGF
AGF - ?lstykke
Kolding - AGF
AGF - HIK
As for the Super League, FC K?benhavn won the championship easily, even though they lost the pace at the end (championship was secured five rounds before the end of the season). Surprise of the season was that Br?ndby only finished 6th, after having finished 1st or 2nd every year since 1994...
In purple
HIK in the last round... lucky!
Yes, but away vs Kolding in the 2nd last round will be very hard - they have the best score in the league for the spring season (27 points in 12 matches, 8 3 1), and they will probably still have a (big or small) chance to be promoted.
Anyway, the good thing is: either AGF returns to the Super League, or a REALLY weird team like Kolding or Fredericia will get the promotion, which is kind of funny.
Now Fredericia is quite an amusing name - should it mean land of Frederick :)?

The ball was far away from them when Zidane hit Matterazzi (final match, WC 2002), Zidane got a well deserved red card anyway. Same thing for this penalty IMO.
Yes, Christian Poulsen got a red card too, AND a penalty against him, unlike Zidane... (was there a free kick in the world cup final?). But I guess it's still fair enough...
I don't remember if there was a free kick, but there should have been one. If the fault is made in the "surface", then free kick ir replaced by penalty. Logical.
Roberto Carlos goes to Fenerbahce. It was really time to change, he's too old to be in Real Madrid.
As long as your name can make Real Madrid sell expensive t-shirts, you're never too old to play in Real Madrid. :P

No kings, Freddie was the singer of Queen. ;D
Norway - Hungary 4-0 (1-0)
KISTELEKI & V?RHIDI TAKARODJ!!!
We want the retired Ill?s B?la back to the national team: even he would play better than this shitty group of so called footballists.
Imagine what a shame is that for me here, in Norway... Vegh, Hajnal, Priskin & the others: go home to hoe the bean fields!
Forever Budafok!!! ;)
Budafok - Ferencvaros (played in Tatabanya): 2-2 (0-1). :D
If Nyiregyhaza can beat Mako today, they win Group East one round before the end of the championship. That would mean Ferencvaros stays in 2nd division for one more season. So:
HAJRA, TIRPAKOK, HAJRA, VIDEK!!!
Ferencv?ros will win in next round while the refree of the tirp?k match will be with the opponents of tirp?ks. In the other group: Ors?s FC will qualify.
Have you seen Messi's goals lately. He scored 2 which are amazingly similar to those Maradona scored againts the dirty English in Mexico '86. The older one is the 2nd best goal in football history (I like it more than Maradona's but Messi scored against Getafe so Maradona's goal is better) and the more recent one looks like the one called "The hand of God" (It got the name when a reporter asked Maradona if he has scored the goal with which Argentina won using his hand and he said Argentina won for The hand of god)
If you haven't seen them, I strongly recommend you to see the one against Getafe.
Legendary goals! Messi is a very big talent, I hope he'll have a great carrier.

He has it already. He's been champion of La Liga with Barcelona, he's played a World Cup for Argentina and he was under 20 world champion with Argentina. Plus he scored the best goal ever scored by a human being!
But he has still ~10 more years in football, I hope he will be in top shape for a long time.
He won't. Nobody ever does that. It's physically impossible I think. I can't remember a football player being at his best for more than 7 years or so.
NB II, Group East:
Nyiregyhaza - Vecses 1-0 (1-0)
Ferencvaros - Baktaloranthaza 0-0

South Americans: nobody want to tell details or opinions about Libertadores Cup final? Boca Juniors and Riquelme were unbeatable!

KAZINCBARCIKA - FERENCV?ROS 2-2 (0-1)
(Round 1: Baktal?r?nth?za - Kazincbarcika 0-0)
Hungary - Italy 3-1
I wonder how much money was paid to the world champion to lose the match.
I disagree with CTG. We played REALLY well. This time we succeeded in everything. Good passes (unlike other times), good shoots (unlike other times), good cross-ins (unlike other times)... just like if a kind magic had shone on the Hungarian players... the Italian team was totally confused and deconcentrated. We deserved that victory.
Hungary 3 - 1 Italy
Norway 2 - 1 Argentina
It's a crazy world isn't it?
Awful match from Argentina. Only Zanetti played well, defense really sucks. Basile will have to work hard to find a good defense in order to face South American knockouts.
Reality would be Hungary - Italy 1-4.
Italy loss versus Hungary while France did well versus Slovakia is good to prepare forthcoming Italy-France match.
Abidal was excellent as mid-left defender instead of completely left defender. Mexes will be replaced logically by Thuram as mid-right defender (Thuram seems to rest well and should be operationnal for our matches versus Italy and Scotland.
And Henry-Anelka as forward duo seems the best option for the moment, it reminds me when they both played for Arsenal some years ago : lots of movements, and perfect complementarity, not like Henry-Trezeguet (Trezeguet style is to stay in front of the goal waiting for a ball, no move, I don't like it) or Henry-Cisse (Cisse still need to learn, he is a good scorer but still doesn't know how to make a pass).
Henry-Anelka is as good as Henry-Wiltord a few years ago. Top of French forwards at the moment. I hope a result as good as for France-Italy a few months ago (that is a French easy victory ;D). Maybe qualified countries for next Euro will be France and Scotland, and Italy not qualified (you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one :D) ! But we still have to fear Ukraine too, let's not be too over-confident : it made France miss World Cup in USA. :-[
ok from now on I'm also involved in this topic, as my brother is a registered football player starting today.
His team is MTK Bp. Kft. in the BLSZ IV/2 league. Their goal this year is to get promoted to BLSZ IV/1.
I'll keep you updated :D, but you can also follow the results: http://blsz.hu/portal/index.php?com=tab&bid=115

Poor results from Kazincbarcika:
BKV El?re-KBSC 2-1
Vecs?s-KBSC 3-3
International, UEFA Cup, 2nd qualifying round:
HSV-Bp. Honv?d 4-0 (4-0 on aggregate too, for Hamburg)
Juventus started the Italian League fantasticly:
Juventus-Livorno 5-1
Ferencv?ros - Szolnok 1-2 (0-2)
Ferencv?ros is in sucking shape. Usrin: don't masturbate on the result!!! :P ;D
YEEEAAH!!! I've just arrived at home, and read this amazing result. Oh, poor Fradi! ;D
With this victory, Szolnok took the lead in NB II Group East, and nobody will be able to stop us! Forever Szolnoki M?V!!!
Does Hungarian League Cup have any importance or prestige? I think it was useless to start it.
Kazincbarcika has 3 points out of 5 matches... very, very poor result. This year's squad is stronger than last year's, we have a new coach and new goals, we started the season with big hopes. We bought some players which played in the first division earlier, and we have many improving youngsters. I heard the owner of the team (who supports KBSC with money) left the club business, and I guess that's what the results show: we want to be relegated in my opinion. Let me be wrong...
This weekend:
Kazincbarcika-V?c 2-3 (f*ck off Nelly)
And next weekend KBSC (13., 3 pts) will have a visit to the home of Szolnok (1., 12 pts)! I think the chances are obvious. ;)

They tried to force the teams to play more matches during the season - but only stupid MLSZ leaders like Kisteleki could think that League Cup would be taken seriously by anybody. So I agree, it's absolutely useless.
Szolnoki M?V - Kazincbarcika 1-0 (0-0).

This is football topic, not family. ;D
Mourinho gave up! It was really unexpected from him. I hate his personality (aggressive, unmodest) but I really admit his skills as coach and I appreciate his intention to save his players.
Two big questions:
1, Who will be the next trainer of Chelsea? I guess they can't find a better one for this position.
2, Who will employ Jose Mourinho? Real Madrid won't fire Schuster (they are in bombastic shape now), Barcelona is on a good way to escape from the former bad performance (Rijkaard will stay), english clubs usually hate him enough not to employ. Maybe he's going to be the trainer of the portugal national eleven? Scolari's position is quite weak now after his fight with the serbian Dragutinovic.

Hungary - Malta 2-0
The better team won, but nothing special.
But the under-21 and the under-19 perform well in the qualifiers. U21 team beat the ECH silver medalist Serbian team, and if they beat Belarus soon, they will secure their leading position in the group. U19 team qualified for the next round (top28) of the qualifiers by beating Wales, Kazakhstan and Switzerland as one of the thirteen group leaders. If things go like that, Hungary can maybe rise a bit from the "deep swamp of once great football teams".

You should blame your trainer: you had the best team at WCH 2006, but he chose very bad tactics against Germany after taking the lead 1-0. You should have tried to score once more instead of trying to keep the result.

Dirty KBSC!!! :P ;D
Greeeeat results so far today:
friendly: Poland-Hungary 0-1 (Hajnal 80.-pen.)
ECH qualifier: Russia-England 2-1 (England in trouble!)
ECH qualifier: Georgia-Scotland 2-0 (with that, the gate is open for Italy)
not final results:
Bosnia-Norway 0-1 23rd min. (Hungary can clinch 4th spot in their group with that)
Germany-Czech Rep. 0-1 9th min. (dirtiest football team is sucking)
Group of France for Euro 2008 qualifications :
Team Pts P W D L + - Diff
1 France 25 11 8 1 2 23 3 20
2 Ecosse 24 11 8 0 3 20 10 10
3 Italie 23 10 7 2 1 17 7 10
4 Ukraine 16 10 5 1 4 16 12 4
5 G?orgie 10 11 3 1 7 16 17 -1
6 Lituanie 10 10 3 1 6 7 13 -6
7 Iles F?ro? 0 11 0 0 11 3 40 -37
The defeat of Scotland (2-0) versus Georgia is good news. The victory of France (2-0) versus Lithuania is also good news (and Thierry Henry becomes the best French scorer of all time for French team with 2 more goals => 43 goals beating Michel Platini's record of 41 goals).
1 match remaining for France and Scotland, 2 for Italy.
Remaining matches (only important ones for qualification) :
Scotland - Italy (November 17)
Ukraine - France (November 21)
Italy - Feroe Islands (November 21)
If Italy beats Scotland, the Italy and France will already be qualified, even if France and Italy loose their matches of November 21. This is the best scenario in my opinion, because match in Ukraine will be difficult enough for France without having the pressure and the obligation to win.
If there is a draw between Scotland and Italy, then Italy will have to win versus Feroe Islands (which should not be difficult) to hope to be qualified but France will have to make a draw or a win versus Ukraine to be qualified (in this case Italy won't be qualified). If Italy makes a draw versus Feroe Islands after a draw versus Scotland, then Italy will be qualified and Scotland not (same amount of points but victory of Italy versus Scotland in Italy the 28 of March 2007)
If Scotland wins versus Italy, then : Scotland is already qualified and 2nd place will be between Italy and France. Italy will have to beat Feroe Islands but it won't be sufficient if France beat Ukraine. In case France wins, whatever the result of Italy, France will be qualified and Italy not. In case Italy makes a draw versus Feroe Islands, then a draw versus Ukraine is sufficient for France. In case Italy looses versus Feroe Islands, then France will be qualified whatever the result versus Ukraine. As I can't imagine to see Italy loose it would mean that France will have to win in Ukraine. Most difficult scenario because Ukraine is always difficult to beat when playing at home.
Anyway, I still don't understand how France managed to loose twice versus Scotland while easily dominating these 2 matches. With 2 more wins France would have been already easily qualified. Shitty Scottish football with always 10 players in defence made us unable to score. It reminds me of Greek style during last Euro. Shitty style, no interest to see matches like that.
My best hope:
Scotland, Italy - in
France - out
(sorry t?ff)
:P
Italy will easily beat Scotland and Italy and France will qualify as expected.
The only big teams in serious trouble: England, Turkey, (Denmark)

Scotland - Italy (November 17)
Ukraine - France (November 21)
Italy - Feroe Islands (November 21)
My tips:
Scotland - Italy X
Ukraine - France X
Italy - Feroe Islands 1
Qualified: Italy 27 pts, France 26 pts
Mine :
Scotland 1-2 Italy (1-0 for Scotland at half-time, just to put on the pressure over Italy)
Ukraine 1-1 France
Italy 6-0 Feroe Islands
In numbers:
Scotland-Italy 0-0
Ukraine-France 1-1
Italy-Faroe Islands 2-0
My brothers team won with 14-0 today.
Unfortunately my brother couldnt play because of a leg injury.
AC Milan is still suffering, they can't win in San Siro. Quite annoying performance from such a great team.
Curious weekend at Serie A. None of the home teams won! 3 draws and 7 away victories!
Poor Besiktas... :o

Yeah, beaten 8-0 by Red Devils of Liverpool ! ;D :D
English football makes me sick...
Great goal from Ibraimovich! (4-2). I just saw it live!
Wake up Hungary, we are still crap in football. As I felt earlier, we got a great slap from the underdog Moldavian team.
Moldova - Hungary 3-0 (2-0)
Anyway dirty Israel for beating the "Sbornaja" and helping England with this.
Thanks to Italy for beating Scotland (2-1, last I9talian goal in the last minute of the match), and thanks to Scotland for loosing some weeks ago versus Georgia.
Now, France is already qualified, with Italy, for Euro 2008 even if we loose our next match in Ukraine.
Scotland is eliminated.
All the wrong teams won today :'(
Go Croatia! Make those English asses suck!!! :D
Anyway in half time:
Hungary - Greece 1-1
England is dirty. Fake penalty for a fake fault. They will qualify to EURO2008 because it's good for the UEFA sponsor buisness (refree helps).
GO CROATIA, GO RUSSIA!!!
Hungary - Greece 1-2 (1-1)
Damn it we finished 6th in the group, overtaking only Malta! Disappointing...
Goodbye to England!
Denmark won a useless 3-0 victory vs Iceland, and finished 4th :-/
Forever Croatia!!! England sucked finally, I love this result.
Poor Scotland, Northern Ireland and Finland. And dirty France.

Even with Scotland beating Italy or if they both had made a draw, France draw result in Ukraine would have been enough for us to qualify. :P And France should have had victory if our goalkeeper Sebastien Frey had not made such a big mistake on the 2nd goal of Ukraine... So, we deserve to be qualified.
Scotland was lucky both time they beat France : France dominated really these 2 matchs and both time we lost on one of the very very few Scottish goal possibility (compared to French goal possibilities). But Scotland really lost their qualification when they lost versus Georgia. With a victory there, they would have been qualified. Their fault, as for England.
British islands' football is not at his best, with no nation qualified for next Euro.
Now, let's see what will be the groups poll.
Denmark vs Hungary (and Sweden, Portugal, Albania, Malta) in the World Cup qualifier. Looks like a good group for Sweden, not so great for the other teams.

Mmmm... My tips for this group : Portugal will be 1st, Sweden 2nd. Sweden will have to play elimination match among the best 2nds to be qualified. Then there will be Denmark 3rd, Hungary 4th, Malta 5th and Albania 6th.
For France, group doesn't seem too difficult : France (1st, of course :P, Romania (the main opponent for this group, will be 2nd), Austria (will finish probably 3rd), Lituania (4th), Serbia (5th) and Feroe Islands (6th).
For England, I fear they won't qualify, like for Euro 2008 : they have Ukraine and Croatia (again ;D) in their group.
Very easy group for France... Strange that you believe Lithuania and Austria will beat Serbia though...
About Denmark's group, your guess separates itself from the seeding because Malta beats Albania... Well, it could happen. However, I think Denmark can do it. Portugal are not as good as Spain, Sweden are exactly as good as Sweden, and we did alright with them (remember the 0-3 defeat was because a spectator attacked the referee after Denmark had gone from 0-3 to 3-3). The real challenge will be consistenly beating Hungary and Albania.
Muhahaha, some of our football leaders say we have chance for the 2nd place in the group. That's a very big LOL, especially after the Euro2008 qualifications (0 point versus Turkey, Norway and Greece; 3 point versus Malta and Moldova; 6 point versus Bosnia). Even if our young team improves (not likely with the same asshole trainer), we can't finish higher than 4th.
My predictions:
1 Portugal 22 pts
2 Denmark 17 pts
3 Sweden 17 pts
4 Albania 12 pts
5 Hungary 11 pts
6 Malta 2 pts
Group 1: the group of vulnerable top teams (POR, SWE, DEN) and competitive dicksuckers (HUN, ALB, MLT). The seedings correctly show in this group the strength of the teams, although there's a big gap between 3rd and 4th team in strength (DEN-HUN). I think the top teams will steal points from each other, maybe the group will be decided on how much points they lose against the dicksuckers. Sweden is a team - in my opinion - who can win against any team on their day, and can lose against a relatively weak team on a bad day, too. I guess for Hungary 4th place of the group is realistic, but if current trainer stays in his position, weaker can also occur. I can imagine 7 and 15 points too for Hungary, although I would consider the first one a big disaster (beating ALB and MLT home, stealing only 1 point from these team's home), the latter one a big miracle (beating ALB and MLT twice, and one top team, too, or stealing a point from each top team).
Predictions:
1 Sweden
2 Portugal
3 Denmark
4 Hungary
5 Albania
6 Malta
Group 2:
1 Switzerland
2 Greece
3 Israel
4 Latvia
5 Moldova
6 Luxemburg
Group 3:
1 Czech Republic
2 Poland
3 Slovakia
4 Slovenia
5 Northern Ireland
6 San Marino
Group 4:
1 Germany
2 Russia
3 Finland
4 Wales
5 Liechtenstein
6 Azerbaijan
Group 5:
1 Spain
2 Turkey
3 Bosnia and Herzigovina
4 Belgium
5 Armenia
6 Estonia
Group 6:
1 England
2 Croatia
3 Ukraine
4 Belarus
5 Kazakhstan
6 Andorra
Group 7:
1 France
2 Serbia
3 Romania
4 Austria
5 Lithuania (dirty Mingva)
6 Faroe Islands
Group 8:
1 Italy
2 Bulgaria
3 Ireland
4 Montenegro
5 Georgia
6 Cyprus
Group 9:
1 Netherlands
2 Norway
3 Scotland
4 Iceland
5 Macedonia
@BJ and CTG : is Malta so crappy ?
They beated Hungary 2-1 and made a draw with Turkey (2-2) during Euro 2008 qualifications. I still believe that they can beat Albania and Hungary when playing at home.
Quote from: Akoss Poo
Group 3:
1 Czech Republic
2 Poland
3 Slovakia
4 Slovenia
5 Northern Ireland
6 San Marino
Quite easy group for Czech Republic. Poland-Slovakia-Slovenia seem more or less around the same level, 2nd place will be a hard fight.
Quote from: Akoss Poo
Group 5:
1 Spain
2 Turkey
3 Bosnia and Herzigovina
4 Belgium
5 Armenia
6 Estonia
My tip : 1st Turkey, 2nd Spain, 3rd Belgium and 4th Bosnia.
For the rest, I aggree with Akoss.

Malta was extremely lucky in Euro2008 qualifications, especially versus Turkey. It won't happen again this time.
Krys:
1, Poland is significantly stronger than Slovakia and Slovenia, they will catch 2nd place easily.
2, Turkey is not that strong nowadays, Spain is the absolute best of that group. I cheer for Belgium there because of being the best beer country. ;D
I don't know about weaker teams but I think only 2 or maybe 3 teams per group can really fight for a place in next FIFA World Cup.
My predictions are
G1:
1 Portugal
2 Sweden
3 Denmark (Maybe they can steal 2nd place from their eternal rivals, but I'm not so sure)
G2:
1 Greece (Easily)
2 Switzerland
G3:
1 Czech Republic (They'll be the first European team to qualify)
2 Poland (Not really a fight for 2nd place)
G4:
1 Germany
2 Russia
G5:
1 Spain (They're playing very good right now)
2 Turkey (A walk in the park in this group)
G6:
1 England (They won't beat Croatia but they will be more consistent againts weaker teams)
2 Croatia
G7:
1 France (Easy group)
2 Serbia (They have many young and talented players)
G8:
1 Italy (Not much to say about this group)
2 Bulgaria
G9:
1 Netherlands (Without any dificulties)
2 Scotland (Has to be consistent throughout the hole competition or they'll lose 2nd place to Norway)
3 Norway

I thought exactly the same. Btw very "brave" predictions, there haven't been a qualifying phase without any surprises since the globe is round! ;)
Euro 2008 groups:
Group A: Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Turkey
Group B: Austria, Croatia, Germany, Poland
Group C: Netherlands, Italy, France, Romania (auch that will hurt...)
Group D: Greece, Sweden, Spain, Russia

Duplode: what the hell happened to Corinthians???
My tips are the following:
Group A: Czech Republic, Portugal
Group B: Germany, Croatia
Group C: Italy, Netherlands (Sorry Krys!)
Group D: Spain, Greece
Group A: Czech Republic, Portugal
Group B: Germany, Croatia
Group C: France, Romania (I'm very pessimistic with these two dirty teams)

A: Portugal, Switzerland
B: Germany, Croatia
C: Holland, Italy
D: Sweden, Greece

Duplode: what the hell happened to Corinthians???
What, our favourite joke topic this week? :P A seriously inept squad paired with administartive screw-ups. They squandered a ludicrous number of chances of escaping relegation, and in fact would have gone down long ago wasn't for Felipe, their GK, having perfect games round after round (seriously, the guy is brilliant). That's what you get by putting in charge a dirty freakin' corrupt board and setting obscure deals with Russian tycoons, I reckon... ::)
Lanus is the new champion in Argentina! For the first time in its 93 years of life. Finally a new champion after repeating winners since '84! Maybe next time my team will finally do it (Not a chance! :'()
Euro 2008 tips (bold = qualified) :
Group A: Switzerland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Turkey
Switzerland vs Turkey will be an intensive match regarding their last duel (during World Cup 2006 qualificative match, remember ?). But in the end these 2 won't go further because Czech Republic and Portugal are too strong for them.
Group B: Austria, Croatia, Germany, Poland
Easiest group : Austria is a sparring partner and Poland is not as good as it used to be during 1974-1982 period.
Group C: Netherlands, Italy, France, Romania
Netherlands is a young and promising team. But not enough experience versus Italy and France. Romania will be challenging : their new players are good. But they also have a lack of high level competitions for the moment.
Group D: Greece, Sweden, Spain, Russia
Spain, because they will be European champions in the end (they really deserve to finally win a title, and they have really very good players). Greece won't be as lucky as they were in 2004. 2nd place will be between Russia and Sweden. I tip for Sweden because Russia will be too confident after beeing qualified instead of England.
@ Krys: "no surprises" is often the riskiest prediction ;) But I'd like to see Spain winning as well - and that would be a surprise!

Italy qualified for quarter-finals is also a surprise : last time they were World Champion (1982), they even failed to be qualified for Euro at all 2 years later ! :D
Switzerland and Czech Republic will qualify (Portugal is overestimated and Switzerland has home advantage). Germany and Poland will qualify (Croatia is too confident after the qualification, like their Serbian neighbours in the World Cup), Holland and Italy (Holland will get a lucky win vs France), and then Greece and Spain. Greece, Italy, Holland and Germany will qualify for semi finals, final will be Germany and Italy, Italy will win it and play Super Cup against themselves.

I also think that (as well as C. Ronaldo) Portugal is really overestimated. By the way, though I don't think anyone really cares, Arsenal de Sarand? (Don't mistake with Arsenal (the one from London) is the champion of South-American cup.
My brother and his team attended MTK Christmas Cup, and played a match against the greatest king of Hungary. No, not akosspoo but Ill?s B?la! They suffered a 13-4 defeat from the main MTK team (still not bad from amateurs against the first division), and a 4-3 defeat from MTK old boys team, which includes B?la :)
