Title: Which of the following things are worth it?
Post by: BonzaiJoe on April 12, 2008, 01:03:01 PM
Compare to the "price" and the amount of work involved.

Getting drunk?
Studying?
Loving?
Marrying?
Having children?
Being the best at something?
Looking good?
Knowing a lot?
Helping friends?
Helping strangers?
WSM?

Let's try to put these in an order. Most important comes first, least important in the back. Yep, I also left in getting drunk, as I know it's important for some, even thought its not for me. So my ordered list is:

Loving.
Having children.
Knowing a lot.
Marrying.
Helping friends.
WSM.
Studying.
Being the best at something.
Helping strangers.
Looking good.
Getting drunk.

damn, this hotel in Shanghai is noisy and the Internet is slow. But at least its cheap, and this city is the coolest ever. I'm glad to be able to live here soon.

So great to hear you are loving Shanghai!
And thanks for the priority list. I don't quite agree with it, if I were to make a priority list, it would go:

Loving.
Helping friends
Helping strangers
Getting drunk
Knowing a lot
WSM
Being the best at something
Having kids
Studying
Looking good
Marrying

But what I was actually looking for was estimations whether these things are worth it. I chose these things because in all of the cases (except maybe WSM, loving and getting drunk), I am unsure whether it's worth it. Having kids and helping strangers are the most difficult things to determine in my opinion.

Order of these:

Loving - after getting over some disappointment and getting to know the race of women, if you find one who is worthy, then loving is worthy (it yields more than early tears take away)
Marrying - it's a decision; the loved girl is worthy to be married if you are 100% sure that even if you break up, she won't damage you financially (which is a very often case)
Helping friends - having friends=helping friends, and it's really worthy without a doubt, even if there are some cruel people who takes your help for granted and then shits on you if you need his/her help
Getting drunk - very important to break out of this hated world sometimes
Being the best at something - again it's worthy, because it raises your confidence and set some (competition) goals in life
Studying - unfortunately only studying is not enough, nowadays knowledge means nothing (some stupid and liar people are taking jobs away from me with their 'unfair influence', it wasn't worthy to study a lot)
Looking good - again it gives self-confidence, and since it only needs some time and minimal amount of money, I think it's worthy: sometimes some eyes on me make my whole day much better
Knowing a lot - the same as like in 'studying'
Having children - very unworthy now, he/she will be hated in the class if you rear him normally, or be a druggy-alcoholic money-oriented asshole; but I would like to have one if it was possible
WSM - important, but not as important as the things mentioned above
Helping strangers - do they help me?

I was actually looking for was estimations whether these things are worth it.
Being 10 totally worth it and 0 completely unworthy, I would give these marks...

Getting drunk: 5 (Depends on the situation)
Studying: 8 (The missing 2 points are those things which are obligations but we don't like (Like in School))
Loving: 10 (No comments about it)
Marrying: 5 (I don't think a signed paper makes any diference, but it doesn't hurt anyone either...)
Having children:10 (One of my goals in life)
Being the best at something: 7 (It's worthy but I think it's better to be recognized by that you're good at)
Looking good: 5 (In some situations, like when looking for a job it's important you have a nice presence)
Knowing a lot: 8 (Same as Studying, as knowing a lot of what you like is great!)
Helping friends: 10 (That's what friends are for!)
Helping strangers: 7 (If you can make something useful out of it)
WSM: 10 (According to your stories, because I'll probably never go...  :'()

wow, you are going to have a child? congratulations! I also am very much looking forward to this part of my life, but after a lot of hesitation we decided to have children only after we have moved to China.

Congratulations to Usrin as Mrs. Usrin! I'm also waiting anxiously to that time of my life, but it's still very far, as we have to finish our studies, get a job and move together first.

I hope you will both say the same after seeing the first few crappy diapers and being wide awake all the nights because of that terrible and very noisy crying coming from the infant. ;) ;D

On second thoughts, I better adopt a 19 YO girl and do it Woody Allen's way! (Kidding, of course!)

A big congrats to Usrin - if all goes well! It would be unwise to celebrate before the baby is born. That's really a big thing, I can't believe anyone except KHR and Krys TOFF are going to have children in the Stunts community.

I'm glad to tell everybody that my son Bálint has born yesterday (Oct 2), 13:55 CET.  8)

He is 59 cm long, and weighs 3890 g. He doesn't cry too often - rather prefers farting. Maybe it indicates that he'll be a good member of Stunts community! I hope tomorrow I will also hear his first BÖFFs.
;)

Here he is:

The new Slovak dictator has born!!! Congratulations, Usrin! Do you consider Bálint as a Slovak, too? I hope once he will be a member of the stunts community, will play stunts, drink pálinka, böff, fart, eat chili beans, and will hate picsacipö. Long live the little boy! Böff!

damn, where did my congratulations disappear to?

anyway I'll redo it in this case:

Congratulations to Usrin, and the whole family even from China! Raise him to be the youngest (and later the fastest :)) Stunts pipsqueak! :)
Title: Re: Which of the following things are worth it?
Post by: Usrin on October 14, 2008, 10:13:10 AM
Big thanks for the congratulations to all of you! Akoss: I think he will feel himself rather Slovak than Hungarian, because his mother ate bryndzové halusky many times during her pregnancy. That's why Bálint became such a big baby.
;)

Another important information (to CTG): Bálint farts heavily every morning, including Thursday mornings. And he also learned how to BÖFF after "eating". (By the way, it is a very important thing for babies, they always swallow air besides milk, but air should be removed from their stomach.) I even tried to explain (and show) him what is an ÖBLÖS BÖFF - as I hear, he might have understood it.
;)
