Title: Sports 2009
Post by: BonzaiJoe on June 13, 2009, 11:55:19 AM
Soon the Tour de France will begin again. And does anyone care anymore? I think in the end, I still care. I don't know how. It's also fun to guess who will be taken out of the race for doping and who will manage to stay in, and to see if any pipsqueaks are not doped. I have a suspicion that Sylvain Chavanel does not use doping. This is because when he won a stage in the last tour, he was so extremely happy, and he cried. Cheaters don't do that. When they win, they feel the guilt, and the victory is only half good. You can see it on their faces if they are doped. They smile falsely, celebrate only a little bit and then "act" in the interviews.

I'm still sleepy after a long long, but very happy night. I sat in front of the television and watched the Pittsburgh Penguins beating title holders Detroit Red Wings in a very exciting hockey game. I saw Malkin being selected as MVP, Crosby lifting the Cup with glory, and Lemieux doing so. HAIL TO THEM!!! BÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖÖFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!

FOREVER PITTSBURGH PENGUINS, STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS 1991 1992 2009!!!

I will watch TDF this year. In 2008, I had no Eurosport, but this year I have, so I can follow it on tv. What do you think about Armstrong's performance, what can he do after a long break and after getting older? Do dopings work at the age of 37, too? Btw let me check the route, I haven't done it so far!

Yes, it's an impressive time. I think I would have to train incredibly hard for maybe 2 or 3 years to beat that...

Not only the time is amazing, but looking at the race, it seems he didn't give his best on last 35m or so... how fast Usain Bolt REALLY is?

There was 9.50-9.52 in this run. He will earn some money with newer and newer records... Btw I think his skills are enough for 9.40 at 100 m, 19.10 at 200 m and maybe 42.50 at 400 m if he tries that in the future. It would be great to see him in long jump too - with this speed and with some skills in jumping he can reach 9 meters (just remember Carl Lewis).

Yes, probably he would do fine in Long Jump as well.

The Austrian ice hockey championship has started. Alba Volán, after a promising pre-season, started the season with an unexpected big home loss, 1-6 against the Graz 99ers. Then we beat the strongest side, Red Bull Salzburg 4-3. Interesting. 2 points after 2 matches - next opponent: Vienna Capitals.

during the weekend we could not defend our title won last year, but snatched the second place in the mixed gender team category at the biggest 24hour team mountainbike race of Hungary, after completing 97 laps (approx. 445km).

I don't care about olympics anymore. I won't even watch it. Female boxing is also in the olympic program, so it became even more ridiculous than ever.

BÖFF!!!

Some hockey news: NHL season has just started, the Pens are the title holders - let's hope they can defend the Cup.
In the Austrian Bundesliga, Alba Volán is 6th on the table out of 10, holding a 1 point/match streak in average, which would mean a playoff spot for them. They started the season badly, but they has just found their form. We beat today the Croatian side of KHL Medvescak Zagreb 6-5 after overtime, bouncing back from 1-4 with a great rally.

Great hockey news! Pittsburgh Penguins had a great NHL season start, winning 6 matches out of 7, only fledding a match against other conference team, Phoenix Coyotes, to keep enough power to beat the dirty Philadelphia Flyers next evening (away, 5-4).

Alba Volán is at the moment above the planned 1pt/match average. 14 points out of 13 games. But some hard matches are to come. After 18 games, a round finishes, each team played with each other 2 times, so the view at that point would indicate a real image about the team's power. We're playing in Klagenfurt, in Salzburg, and in Vienna, Linz and Jesenice are to come to Székesfehérvár. We need 4 points in those matches. Volán is 6th on the table at the moment, 8 would go to the playoffs.

Alba Volán is lying in 7th place in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (Austrian Bundesliga 1.), having 20 points out of 20 games. Not a bad performance. Finally a good center has just been arrived: Nathan Martz returned after a short Italian career.

Pittsburgh Penguins started the season in an excellent form: 15 games, 12 wins. That's what we could expect from the title holders! BÖFF to them! :)

The one on the right is better looking, but I'd still rather skid the one on the left.
