I'm reading a lot about history and mythology from all the world. Yesterday I read about Ottoman Empire that I didn't know too much. Now I wonder what do you know/think about your own history, I'm asking to our Hungarian friends here, specifically about Austro-Hungarian Empire era.

Actually it was a short era...
I know but, what opinion it deserves from you?
The Ottoman empire left more freedom to Hungarians to pursue their own paths.
As far as I know, the Austrians had tight control on us and tried to turn Hungary into a German-language territory, integrating us into their empire. That said, there was also significant development in our country back then.
The only fact you should know about Hungarian history: we are eternal suckers. :D
