How the hell does the avatar stuff work! Mine is 100 x 100 pixel and 4 KB big, but still neither the upload from my machine nor from an URL is working. :x
Does anybody know?
Doesn't work for me either. I think Zak knows.
At the moment only Link to off-site Avatar is working. So, you must to upload picture into your site, and then use a link to it.
P.S. Don't use larger than 80x80 image. E.g., my avatar's dimensions are 70x70, and it looks just fine

Hey, Rotoi's Avatar, D'you have a telephone... D'you want to go to Curitiba...
Now this avatar is the same character but drawed by a girl, friend of mine. She's 15 years old and she lives relative near from me. ;) She drawed it and dedicated :)

NAZ

Quote from: "CTG"The Prince NAZ.
And who the skid is "The Prince NAZ"?
Jemen warrior. You aren't in top shape mentally, I guess. :D
I strongly suggest you to change your avatar CTG, at least before Alain sees it.
Why ?
Because "NAZE" (same prononciation as "NAZ" in French) means either "useless" or "tired" in French.
When talking about yourself "je suis naze" (i am "naze") = I am tired.
When talking about someone else, it can also mean "tired", but it often mean "useless".
Be sure Alain will now call you "le gros naze" which is common familiar expression in French to talk about someone stupid, useless and with no interest. In english, you can translate "le gros naze" by "the useless big guy".
Enjoy the compliment CTG. :-D
Thanks for giving tips to Alain. :-D

CTG told someday that I know a song for every occasion. That's true, here is the song appropriated to Lised's new avatar (nice eye) :
"1-2-3-4
Walking like a man, hitting like a hammer
She's a juvenile scam, never was a quitter
Tasty like a raindrop, she's got the look
Heavenly bound cos heaven's got a number
When she's spinning me around, kissing is a colour
Her loving is a wild dog, she's got the look
She's got the look (she's got the look)
She's got the look (she's got the look)
What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl turn blue
When everything I'll ever do I'll do for you
And I go la la la la la
She's got the look
Fire in the ice, naked to the T-bone
Is a lover's disguise, banging on the head drum
Shaking like a mad bull, she's got the look
Swaying to the band, moving like a hammer
She's a miracle man, loving is the ocean
Kissing is the wet sand, she's got the look
She's got the look (she's got the look)
She's got the look (she's got the look)
What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl turn blue
When everything I'll ever do I'll do for you
And I go la la la la la
She's got the look
Walking like a man, hitting like a hammer
She's a juvenile scam, never was a quitter
Tasty like a raindrop, she's got the look
And she goes....
Na na na na na......
She's got the look"

You guessed right! That is the (Japanese) kanji ?, read "ka", which has the general meaning of transformation - as in ??, read as "kagaku", the Japanese word for Chemistry... ;)
Anyway, this is still in test mode. It needs some Photoshop (or, actually, GIMP) work if it is to stay...
It's hua in Chinese (altough the horizontal cross-stroke should be a bit longer), and means change, while huaxue means the wisdom of change = chemistry. Yep, Chinese and Japanese are quite similar ;)

Wow, "Yours is no disgrace"! It seems you have begun to listen the YES almost starting from their origin. If I remember, this song is part of "The Yes Album", third album of their career (1971, if I'm not wrong). It's really great. I like so much many songs of it, and particularly the final of "Starship trooper". What I appreciate so much is the multifomity of styles and rithms that YES succeed to put in an album and, above all, in a single song. Even if "songs" maybe it's not the correct term talking about YES. I prefer call them compositions. "Your is no disgrace" is one of the first example (you can find some of them in the previous two very first album, with some pieces really fantastic), but afterward they reach more and more higher levels. An album I like really so much is the next one, Fragile (1972, this time I'm sure about the year) that includes one of my favourite "song" in absolute: "Close to the edge", 19 minutes of pure art... But how forgetting "Heart of the sunrise" or "South side of the sky"... OK, I've already bored you too much... ;)

OK, I've already bored you too much... ;)
Well, what I can tell you is that I already listened to the
Close to the Edge album (1972, Fragile would be the one with Roundabout if I remember correctly), and it's
amazing. The title track makes for a wonderful music-driven trip, and Siberian Khatru is a perfect blend of soundscapes and harder rock. Which reminds me that lately I'm finding quite interesting to contrast Yes with the other prog heroes, King Crimson: While Yes sounds so spiritual and even light-hearted, Crimson is dark, sometimes even doomy, with all those crazed improvisations...
BTW: Did we ever had a Music topic around here?

You're absolutely right, what incredible mistake for me...! Effectively, last time I listen "Close to the edge" it has been a lot of time ago... I don't want that its atmosphere becomes too customary... I want it surprises me every time I ear the piece in the middle when the sweet drip becomes so real as it was just around me... I think it's time to find 20 minutes so to put my headphones, just after turn off the lights.. ;)

No comments so far about 8), also know as Mark's new avatar... =)
And even if I don't think I'll ever get tired of the Moving Pictures cover (or of the actual album), I'll switch it a bit for something that might be a slightly harder guess...
The guy in your avatar seems similar to Manu Ginobili

1 Borsodi question: what is on the picture? Mustn't participate in the game: Duplode and Krys Toff because of their chemical studies, Diesel Joe because of another reason... ;D
The perspective of this space-filling model makes it harder - having co-written a short monograph on this not that long ago I hoped I'd have recognized it quicker... :D

The previous one was easier for me - but I know rather little about Dream Theater, or Saint Seiya (correct guess? :))
Saint Seiya, correct! Now guess which of the knights this is...
Did both Zak and CTG took down their avatars or it's just my browser? ???
no, I don't see mine either. must be some bug, will look up...
I see your avatar... But it looks bigger!

Now my avatar seems to have disappeared too... I'll use the opportunity for a change, though. While I consider some other on-theme image, I will restore one of my old ones for the GP weekend - the chap needs some support considering the mess BMW is currently in. Go Kubica! ^_^
BTW, previous avatar was part of the cover of an obscure soundtrack album by Pink Floyd, appropriately titled Obscured by Clouds. It contains a very atypical song for them which happens to be one of my absolute favourites, Free Four.

Correct! That's Juan Diaz, the Argentinian superstar of Captain Tsubasa. Any ideas who that player resembles in real life? Dark, curly hair, Argentinian, number 10 on his back, with a blonde attacker as his wingman...
BTW, there was also a 'Brown' on Argentina's NT, I don't think it was a coincidence...

This story is very funny so pay attention ;) (and sorry for my bad english)
The Story starts 10 years ago, when I go out with my dog Alan (a beatiful brown German Shepherd) to do that they do in the trees :D , piss and another things.
All was ok so I didn't pay atention to him. And when I see him, he started to piss, not in a tree exactly, he started to do it almost in the front door of a neighbor. So I pulled the strap trying to stop that mess. I couldn't but in the ground he left some strange marks. It was "written" a word: rotoi. So I assumed that he chose his own name and I started to call him Alan and as a last name Rotoi, then Alan Rotoi.
I used Rotoi as nickname in internet almost from the beginning (1998)
He born the 5 of may of 1988 in Monte a small town of Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina with 8 little dogs more. 45 days after that my uncle brought us a little dog and we called him Alan.
He died the 20 of October of 2001 and from that moment he will be on my heart forever and ever. He was with us 13 years, and it's more than the half of my life. I only have a lot of memories and some pictures. He lived as a king here, you can't imagine how we loved him, my family and friends. I still miss him and sure I will all my life.
SO!... It isn't a sad story! :D :D   I started to use the nick alanrotoi more or less from the beginning of 2001 and I edited some pictures with my body and the head of Alan and now that being (we) is called Alan Rotoi.
Rotoi's name was coming from his dog's pee.

Well, there is one thing we could do. We could have a theme month in April.
The theme is "nobody responds to anything posted by CTG or one of his ghosts".
CTG is an internet troll and the psychology of internet trolls is reasonably well established. Happy people don't troll. Trolls use people's reactions to build up a false identity to cover for their real issues with themselves. If you starve them of reactions, they will need to look elsewhere for a magic identity mirror (or actually deal with their issues).
The only problem is of course that the rest of us don't post very much, so it would in all likelihood be a very quiet month.
It smells like 2011.
And it will end like 2011. These ultraliberal shitheads have no balls to punish.
Hopefully not.

What separates CTG from your run-of-the-mill troll that feasts on hate is that he appears to genuinely love Stunts. He spends a significant portion of his spare time managing competitions, racing at a high level and creating original content. Why he constantly tries to manipulate the only community in the world that shares this passion with him is a mystery to me.

I don't think all trolls feast on hate. They come in different shapes. Some use hate speech, some use provocation and some use impersonation.
But you're right that he seems to enjoy Stunts.
Of course he's about to ejaculate in his pants from all the attention he's getting right now, so for now we're only feeding the troll. I don't mind CTG's Stunts-related posts, and some of his off-topic posts are also just fine. It's only the disproportionate amount of them, and the insulting and the repetitive ghost-creation and ghost-spamming that's throttling the community.
