Oops! I guessed it was public... it's from a public account :-[

Indeed, most stuff on Instagram requires login to become visible. I created my account there a while ago in order to look at a specific post.
Oh, I don't have social networks. Some (long) time ago, something similar to what Duplode says happened to me with Facebook. I asked a friend of mine for some pictures she had taken on a trip. She said she didn't have them at hand to send them, but that I could check on her facebook. I didn't have access, so she recommended me to create an account to see the pics. At the time, I had no idea what Facebook was about. Still, I already had my defensive nature and I created an account with a fake name, but I wasn't smart enough to use an e-mail account other than my primary one. To my surprise, tons of people started to write to me immediately and I realised my mistake. I quickly changed the e-mail address there and abandoned the account. That was in 2009, if I remember well.

It works for me and I don't have an Instagram account.
