Ladies and gentlemen,
I'm glad to present you the first release of SuperSight, a Stunts mod that extends the field of vision to a radius of up to 10 tiles around the car. I've been talking about the project for some days in the RE section of the forum, but the mod seems now to be ripe for publication, so this is my official version 1.0. You can find it attached here. I hope the promotional screenshot entices you to give it a try!
I have only changed the rendering code, the physics should be exactly to same. However, I noticed that my replays made with the Zakstunts 2025 version tend to de-sync, so I don't recommend using this version to produce competitive runs (also, the extended LOS could be considered a cheat). The replays made with other Restunts-based mods should play fine.

New version (v1.2)! New features:
* correct processing of illusion tiles
* fixes for some older Restunts bugs:
** the replays made with the vanilla game now play correctly!
** the audio options work (start with /ssb for the Adlib audio)
* Press F5 to toggle the debug infos

I have to use this mod on 4:00am! I created the track putting scenery very packed to counteract the poor visibility of Stunts engine. It'll look amazing with this
For those overwhelmed by the thread in the "reverse engineering" section, here is my latest update and also the final one ( for a while ;) )
Supersight v1.5
New features:
* uses the original Stunts memory manager. This allows using more demanding car models for you and your opponent. Successfully tested with two Hexas and other combinations
* max number of graphical primitives increased to 600
* solved game freezes when rendering complex scenes, e.g. the eastern part of ZCT037
* F5 displays some status indicators of the 3D engine
* F6 displays illusion tiles
(note: when using F5/F6 in replay mode, they will only come in effect when the scene is re-rendered, either by advancing the time or by changing the camera angle)

I've had some very busy weeks, so after your first version I and my post late January I didn't have time to follow the progress. Or play with it..
You made the most substantial modification to STUNTS in 35 years. I'm really impressed with that.
I was planning a 35 year anniversary edition and this certainly called for one. With zappers updated original cars and a new main menu screen.

Stunts & SuperSight will make an appearance on real hardware at the retrogaming corner of the "Maker Faire" event in Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic). There is even a tournament with a retro mouse pad and a memory game as prize, courtesy of "Sledge" of the high-voltage.cz site. Hope they take some videos!
