The project is a proof of concept for a 3D design tool for dummies inspired by Ryoma and called : C.A.R.S. Conception Assistée de Rendu de Surfaces.
It's happening. Here's version 0.23 of the car body

And here's the tool that allowed to design the car body in 2 hours. One hour for entering the vertices coordinates, and another hour fiddling on stressed and carworks. 251 vertices, under the 255 limit.
Version 0.41 of C.A.R.S. for dummies was stable enough to prove it can help designing 3D shapes with point and click and much less hassle than by hand. I'll keep on pushing the project until alpha.
Now I will start developing D.A.S.H.E.S. for dummies to design the dashboard.
Then I'll develop T.U.N.E.S. for dummies to tweak the specifications.
I wont release R5 turbo Marlboro before vanilla version. More versions of R5 turbo will be easy design when vanilla marlboro R5 is finished.
But I'm sure many drivers will like it when released.

Renault 5 Turbo — development update
The project has come a long way since the first C.A.R.S. prototype!
The car now has a detailed body, a working dashboard, eight paintjobs and revised performance.
Here are the main changes, from the latest version back to the early builds.
v2.3 — 8 March 2026
Updated performance:
0–60 mph: 5.75 seconds
0–100 mph: 14.70 seconds
Top speed: 133 mph
These figures replace the earlier development targets.
v2.2 — 8 March 2026
Improved acceleration to 6.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.
v2.1 — 7 March 2026
Adjusted the speedometer needle to show the car's actual speed.
Added a rev limiter.
v2.0 — 2 March 2026
Added an eighth paintjob: Zapper Black & Yellow.
v1.8 and v1.9 — 28 February 2026
Added seven paintjobs.
Fixed unwanted transparent areas under the body.
Made some polygons visible from both sides to close gaps.
Improved the visibility of the number plates, Marlboro windscreen strip and side radiator details.
Rebuilt parts of the headlights and front bumper with simpler four-point polygons.
The "Z bias" settings helped small details stay visible on top of the body.
v1.7 — 20 February 2026
Removed unnecessary polygons.
Added a telemetry antenna.
Updated the price in euros.
Changed the in-game name to Renault 5 Turbo Prost 82.
v1.6 — 20 February 2026
Enabled the "PG none" setting to fix the jumping speedometer needle.
v1.5 — 20 February 2026
Added new radiator intakes.
Changed the headlights to white.
v1.4 — 20 February 2026
This was a major visual update:
Improved the 1982 Alain Prost Marlboro paintjob, including stickers and number plates.
Added working brake lights.
Updated the front lights.
Fixed the wheels again, with help from Zapper.
Reworked several body panels, including the bonnet.
Added a historically accurate, hand-drawn dashboard.
Updated the gear lever graphics and upper dashboard.
Added the Marlboro windscreen strip.
The wheel coordinates need a precise order. That order differs between wheels. The wireframe view made the problem easier to understand.
I also fixed an import problem: the car looked correct in the showroom but became huge during a race. Saving through CarWorks and copying the corrected model into the other model slots solved it. The first four polygons also needed the "wheel" setting.
v1.0 and v1.1 — August 2025
Completed the vanilla version.
Added the first 1982 Alain Prost Marlboro paintjob.
Fixed the wheels.
Made the rear spoiler visible from both sides.
Set downshifts to 4,000 rpm.
Earlier development — v0.8 and v0.9
The first physics setup used the Lancia Delta Integrale as a starting point.
I then used Gear.xls and Engine.xls to match the real 1982 Renault 5 Turbo's torque curve and gear ratios.
Other early changes included:
Correcting the steering wheel movement.
Adjusting the speedometer and rev counter needles.
Giving both needles a yellow-orange colour.
Updating the gear lever graphics and their position.
Adding yellow wheel rims and dark grey tyres.
The early build reached 69 mph after six seconds and a top speed of 137 mph. The figures at the top of this post are the later v2.3 results.
Music and intro
The Renault pack also comes with a custom intro and an intro screen featuring Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.
The music is "Johnny and Mary" by Robert Palmer, the song Renault used in its adverts in the 1980s.
This is my first time changing the music, intro and also BRAV car in Stunts. There has been a lot to learn!
