Title: ZCT001 25 years later
Post by: Mortimer Macmire on November 08, 2025, 08:26:42 PM
Hi Guys,

Lately I've been (casually) re-driving some of the older tracks. Doing this I got an idea that might be cool to implement in te last race of this season.

What if we, in celebration of ending the anniversary 25th season, reopen zct001 as a one-time side scoreboard? Many of us were not around at that time and this way we can honor the pipsqueaks of that era.

Let me know what you think of this idea!

It would be a nice option for zct300 too. We have to think what to do next year!

I gave it a little bit more thought and I got a new idea.

Since some of us have been asking for a GAR competion. Isn't it an idea to open up a gar competition with tracks from the first few seasons? So in race zct294 we have the GAR with Zct001 and in zct295 we have GAR with zct002.

The advantage is that we then probably have more activity in the GAR standings and the older tracks get some extra recognition that they definitely deserve. The downside might be that it's too busy in our already busy schedules to have to two separate tracks to race at the same time, another downside is that it might pull away some OWOOT/GAR fans from the main competition which than wil hurt both competitions.

Again, let me know what you think!

The most similar to GAR rules is France Stunts today.

Either separate special race (like Plus 1-2-3 in 2002) or ZCT300, I suggest to restrict the car choice to LM002 - back to classics.

It would be cool to have non-championship "Plus" rounds in that vein, though we'd have to build the support for that on the site. I like the idea of doing it on ZCT300 as a LM002 race, too!

To ensure a LM002 race we wouldn't even need to suspend the bonus system; liberal adjustment of the coefficients for that specific race should suffice. I guess we'd also want to keep the LM002 out of the rotation between ZCT294 and ZCT299, to avoid having a spoiler race earlier in the season (that, too, can be achieved through scheduled usage of admin coefficient adjustments).

Wait, the Plus races did counted in the championship! They had an average point so the three races counts as one.

Indeed; it's just that incorporating them into the season scoreboard like that nowadays could get a little awkward, or at least I feel like that (and of course I could be wrong about it!).

Agree. I'm not convinced by any of both ways haha. But something else than a special track or race for zct300 we should do.

Maybe a track made by zak but for another competition? (Does it even exist? Maybe zak built a track for imsa competition or wrc or usc...
