Title: RH - R6/2007 - "DRIVE"
Post by: Mark L. Rivers on June 27, 2007, 07:06:32 PM

Here it is the 2nd Indy race of SDR season (the 3rd and last will be obviously at the end  ;))! It?s a very hard track with many different tracts where the sensibility of the drivers will make the difference. The track is characterized from three distinct and quite different Powergear tracts. Two of them should be very special, personally I never see in other tracks what drivers will have to do at 245 mph. Did you jump previously on a long bridge or on a up/down corkscrek starting from the lowest terrain level?  ???  Maybe not? But if I?m wrong, please correct me!  ;)  Anyway the winner won?t have only to manage perfectly his car in these PG tracts. There will be four ?no-PG? tracts where drivers will have to race with all their ability to make a valid performance. Above all the 3rd of ?no-PG? tracts is very hard and engaging, resulting almost surely funny and dazzling for all the competitors. And we can't forget the final. Arriving at 245 mph it won?t be so easy to choose the right trajectory to insert your car in a short but very bad hairpin tract? The whole track will result a real total drive experience?   8)  Try to believe it!

And don't forget CTG, he has a new keyboard, finally... and if he's going to beat my time at Kassa, sure he able to manage very well PG...  :)  But you should try to improve with Indy, as I trying to improve with Audi... even if you'll probably win in USL...  ;)
Anyway, I hope that other drivers, and maybe inactive top drivers too, will join, because DRIVE is really a great track, the best Indy track I have realized...  :)

Good marketing policy : always say that the new one is the best ever done. ;D

It's true. But I really wouldn't say what I said if it was not what I really strongly think. I invite you, a driver who really likes well balanced, exciting and suitable Indy PG track, to express your opinion about DRIVE after you'll try it...  ;)

Gentlemen, start your engines!
More than 7 days to the 1st Checkpoint, but maybe you should begin to study this hard Indy track very soon...  ;)

My time for Checkpoint 1:

http://digilander.libero.it/stunts.SDR/replay/Drive_Mark_CP1.part00001.rar (http://digilander.libero.it/stunts.SDR/replay/Drive_Mark_CP1.part00001.rar)

Beginning from this Checkpoint, I?ll publish my times in a different way: no more a zip-file protected by password but a zip-file splitted in two parts by Winrar. When I?ll realize my time I?ll publish the first part of the compressed file; after the checkpoint I?ll publish the 2nd one. And I think this time it won?t be so easy to find a crack to know the content?  ;)

Or you could have simply put a text file with your time written in it and then zip (password-protected) this file.

Last checkpoints I had done what you said, but in the topic about Tetris, CTG declared to have found a crack to open the zip-file containing my text file, so... now CTG have a more difficult job...  ;)

CTG was just kidding. I know that because I looked for the crack but couldn't find it  :D.

I'm kidding too!

1st Checkpoint!

After 7 days, only 3 drivers on the track. Sure there are many competitions in action, and sure the finish is quite far. But maybe the track is really hard as we said, as the gaps show: I lead ahead Chulk for 4" and ahead AbuRaf70 for even 34"!  :o  About the inoxidable argentinian it's correct to say that he has encountered some problems with his PC, and he didn't succeed to try so much. So the last SDR Indy winner will have time to fix his potential in next weeks. ;)  Anyway, one bonus point for me and half bonus point for Chulk. And now we'll see what next week reserve us. Will there be other drivers who will succeed to make a concrete attempt on "Drive", the hardest Indy race of last times? We sure are waiting the laps of Indy specialists, and we want to see how their potential is able to turn on the fight for the victory!  8)

Warning! Second Checkpoint has been anticipated and it will be the 13th Jul 2007 at 21:00.

Track is really hard and PG doesn't seem easy to handle. Let's see what 2nd CP results are.

I also publish the 2nd part of zip-file for CP1 that I forgot to publish last Sunday...  ::)

I also improved on Drive. What about Advance? Are you having some trouble? I know I am...

2nd checkpoint!

AbuRaf70, Chulk and me again on the track and I keep strongly the lead lowering almost 5" my previous time (-4,55%) getting other 2 bonus points!   :)  But the couple of argentinians improves consistently: Chulk reaches a very fast time (1'50"95) and AbuRaf70, solved his PC problems, lower a lot his previous limit going down under 2' and closing to the vertex. And now we are going for 3rd and last checkpoint. I'm sure determined to catch more points I can so to increase (or at least to mantain) my vantage in the season. Will other drivers permit it? Indy specialists and other top drivers still have 2 weeks to take confidence with the track... but are 2 weeks enough to make a winning lap? Maybe not...  ::)  but just a week and we will have a first response. Btw, while CP3 is confirmed for Sunday (22th July) at 14:00, update will be lightly delayed (24-48 hours), and results are expected for Thursday 24th July... A bit of suspense before the final rush!  ;)

PS - 2nd part of my declared time for CP2

Finish!

Third win in a row for me. In the race that has seen the lowest number of drivers in SDR RH contest (only four) I succeed to drive very fast my Indy through this difficult and selective track, preceding Krys TOFF (2nd), Chulk (3rd) and AbuRaf70 (4th). Only 4 drivers, it's true, but the race has been real, as you can see from the analisys. I drove my Indy like a rocket in 1st and 2nd section arriving at 2nd intermediate with a large vantage: +7"55 on Krys, +7"80 on Chulk and + 9"50 on AbuRaf70. How can it be?  :o  Checking the replays you can see the different choices of race in 1st and 2nd sections. Third section is quite similar for all (except for Krys who lost 1") with a great time for AbuRaf70, 1st time for him ex aequo with me!  :)   But in last section the things are not the same: Krys makes a fantastic choice of race rescuing almost 4" on me, re-overtaking Chulk and arriving 2nd!  8)   Really a true race, simply a pity only 4 drivers decided to race it. Closed games for the title? Difficult to say.  ::)  Meanwhile we have a great race ahead us! The 1st August will begin a new Stunts story: SPEEDGATE XSD, the new Stunts car, enters in Stunts racing world! Enjoy with it!  :)
