Welcome to the famous town of onion!
Track name: Makó
Track designer: CTG
Difficulty: 3/5
Predicted winning time: 1:32.00
Deadline: 23rd September 2007, 23:59
My first impression of the track without having raced it so far:
1) To much water in the first half of the track -> A bit boring because there will be less shortcuts and tricks.
2) Very long track. This is good for people who have a "natural" feeling for IMSA like cars and don't have to work hard with them. Maybe this track would be good for Akoss if he decided to race!
For sure, it's bad for me as only the IMSA cars are worse to drive for me ::)
For me, there are two scenarios possible. Either the water prevents most tricks and the win goes to someone who is fast driving mainly "on track". Or, there are some hidden tricks, than the "trickmasters" have a chance also.
If the first option becomes true, I would be surprised if I would manage to finish on a podium place with this car!
After two short tracks it was time to make a longer one.
What a shame we are still over 1:30...
What a shame you are still over 1:30... ;D
O RLY?
(newbie lesson #43: CTG's winning time predictions are actually output from a random number generator)
Newbie lesson #44: The most important sentences usually have smaller font size and invisible letters. ;D

Sorry, I couldn't resist... ;D
Hmmmm... Kiss my ass, Mr T?ff! >:(
;D I was just telling the truth kidding of course. :D
Did you saw the hidden sentence on my previous post ? ;)

Yes I saw.
Newbie lesson #46: Friendly joke jabbing gets even better when CTG is caught off guard.
J/K as well ;)

And it could have been worse : I decided to keep in bold red the word "usually". I also could have let it in normal size and then sentence would have been "I have small size". The "usually" word kept in the sentence let us think that sometimes (not very often probably :D), size is not small (so it is normal, don't expect a big size ;D).
Erm... Sorry CTG. ;D
What a nice button I discovered over your messages: Remove. ;D
Moderator threatening ? This is tyranny ! :D
Yes it is. ;D
Ctg, I thought you predicted a winning time around 1,32! ::) I sure hope you are right about this! (But only considering my opponents ;))
Concerning the size issue, the way Krys talks I would guess his "one" is not much bigger either ;D...

"One" ? Who told you I have only 1 ? I've got 2 ! :P ;D
One for each hand... :D

So much for Silver Spirit's LTB tactics. :P
It looks like Chulk lost his motivation.
Mark will send a replay on the last few days 8).
Mark SENT a replay today.
No time for an update before I leave, so brief info about replays arrived:
CTG 1:33.00
Mark 1:34.25
Duplode 1:35.05
Quote from: Argammon on September 07, 2007, 09:42:48 PMIt looks like Chulk lost his motivation.
I haven?t lost my motivation, I just lost my time to race for a while!
But I hope you will be on podium again soon - you are very close to overall leading.
By the way this kind of fight is good for Argammon and Dottore: Mark, CTG and Chulk have usually fluctuating results, while the two up-runner make quite constant results. Imagine, if Argammon wins a race: 15 pts, Mark finishes 5th: 6 pts. Gap is 19 pts at the moment, a single race can kill the about the half of it.
We can expect a very sharp overall scoreboard soon...
Tonight I'm going to re-drive the track. Goal: 1:29.95. I won't be too sad if it becomes 1:25. ;D
Next leader will be surely under 1:30.
Argammon? CTG? Mark? Chulk? Duplode? CTG? :)
I won't fight for the win. I like Melange, even if, I'm not a specialist about it as CTG said. Instead, I don't like very much the track. It's quite hard, and this likes me, but it's not very funny (sure, for me). To give my best, I need to feel certain sensations and emotions when I race, as I could feel driving a real stunts car. If I don't feel it, a race seems to me an engaging work, but not a place to express all my passion. This usually happens where almost all small tracts of the track (especially if it's quite long) require a big attention if you doesn't want to lose some centiseconds. Mak? is exactly so. No breath, no fun.
I'll try to defend my current position in general classification, but I'm not sure to succeed in it. Sooner or later someone overtake me, I'll know it. ;) Anyway, I would be happy to finish on final podium at the end of the season.
As far as I see this track makes ambivalent feelings in the pipsqueaks. As for me, I like Melange and the track is quite exciting with plenty of small tricks. Try it harder and you will see. ;)
Small announcement:
I will be on vacations for 1 week. This means the mako LTB battle is over for me ::).
I will come back next wednesday around 10pm. Thus, I would be happy with a podium finish this month!
Happy racing!

Happy holidays. Anyway you have a great chance to absolve a third victory in a row.

I knew there
had to be a way to cut that...
It's quite an obvious trick (I know this since Z45) - it was a planned one when designing the track. ;)
This time I won't publish the full replay, because the original goal is to help less experienced or just slower pipsqueaks. But I don't want to help those who fight for the victory (we have quite a lot of good pipsqueaks now). From now only pipsqueaks out of TOP6 or 8 can get whole replay help from the manager. Do you agree with this?
TOP6 or 8 was meant in overall points.
No chance for a site update before Friday, so newest replays:
Super Brian 1:39.10
Chulk 1:35.80
Mark L. Rivers 1:31.10

Full agreement. It sorta reflects a change of status for USC...
Hi!
I am back from holidays.
Just reading the USC side I got a big SHOCK :o :o :o...
because reading it it first sounded like I missed the deadline as CTG summed up overall standings and I had 19th september in my memory! Did deadline change inbetween?
But it was just a summary.
So the deadline is 23th september 23.59, right?
Just so I can send my replay which is a bit faster than 1.29.95 on time ;).
I am not sure about this new rule.
For example, if you send your replay to a weak pipsqueak who is in a strong team, what happens in this case?
I mean, if CTG has the replay it would be no surprise if CTG and Dottore also end up receiving it?
Sorry I am against this rule.
Argy has a good point. Maybe it should be considered that a driver who is in a strong team, has already a strong replay from his teammates, so he might not need it.
Okay, TOP 6 and their teammates won't get full replay help. But I'm going to publish some little tricks in the future too. ;)
Arg: it was always 23rd September, check the original e-mail. :)
About updating results: Monday, late afternoon/evening.
54 hours left.
Very tight finish, 5 pipsqueaks under 1:30...
One detail:
CTG 1:26.90, on podium. ;)
Update: later.
It's a kind of magic: Argammon finished only 2nd. (Okay-okay, I did not drive my best - it would have been around 1:24.50 :P).
Overall table is HOT!
Mark, CTG <--- 2 ---> CTG <--- 3 ---> Chulk <--- 2 ---> Dottore <--- 6 ---> Argammon
Shame on T?ff again, MOR goes to Sergio Baro.
Analysis is ready, Argammon lost the match in the last sector.
Nice scoreboard and nice overall standings. Just a pity for me having lose 2 points for 0"10... Congratulations anyway to all fastest drivers.
CTG, just a question: was there any modify (that maybe I missed) about the first restriction you introduced at the beginning of this season for the competition manager (reported in topic "RULES")?
Quote from: CTG on March 20, 2007, 01:29:47 AM
Two restrictions for the competition manager:
1, Announce final time at least 24 hours before the deadline.
Whops. You are right. It's not a regular rule as it's not included in the official rules section (see USC site) but I kept it all the time since the Mingva affair. Sorry, this time I liked the track so much that I had to push a bit harder and it seems I totally forgot about the 24 hours limit (with announcement, I have the replay for ages). Shame on me but I didn't want to enter LTB fight with such a strong time earlier and I forgot to update on Saturday (went home in the early morning).
Of course I can cancel my own results and set back the original 1:29.95 (if you want). But from now let's say that 24 hours rule is DELETED.

I think that the contest manager is the only one who have to decide about the application of the rules. Drivers who take part at the contest can only accept or not to accept what he decide. But in the 2nd case, that is if they not to accept, contest manger have not to worry: drivers cannot sue him or plead to anyone. Maybe they can only show their dissent choosing the way to do it.
Don't be afraid, manager results never count in final rankings. See former seasons... ;)

Regarding you had your replay for ages, I don't really think that's necessary but, anyway, it doesn't affect my result, so my opinion is not really strong.

I know it. But I've always thought that there's something wrong about your way to manage your contest relatively at your results. You leave yourself from final rank at the end of the season, it's true. But, during the season, your results "snatch" points to the other drivers. So, I think that if you don't want to compete officially in your contest (and only you know why), and you only want to race to show your skill comparing with other drivers (even with time realized for ages), I think you shouldn't assign you race points but simply you should put your results on the scoreboard not affecting the score of drivers with a time higher than your.
I think this thought is simple to get and quite objective. But it's your contest and as I said before other drivers can only accept or not to accept what you decide, choosing the way to show their eventual disagreement.
It worked in the past 4 years so I won't change it for the very last season. Nice idea anyway.
First of all congrats go to Dottore for winning the track.
@ Ctg's time:
Personally I would have loved to see it on the scoreboard earlier. My replay was 3,45 seconds faster than the best replay on the scoreboard before the final deadline. That can be considered ALOT in stunts. Hence, as you can see I had no motivation to max out the end of my replay and lost the race there. If there was an 1.26.90 on the scoreboard some days before deadline you can be sure it would have been the right motivation for me to try to drive ~2-3 seconds faster than it.
I know that is mainly my fault I didn't win though. Can't blame it on anyone. Though, I think if the time was on the scoreboard I would have won 8).

One more time a good chance lost...
Maybe in the very-very-very last USC season in 2008/2009... ;)

Quote from: CTGShame on T?ff again
I had almost no time to race for the 2nd half of september, and I didn't like the track (too many RH-full-optimization-needed parts in it). So, listfiller replay from me. No shame, no pain. My choice, my decision. I didn't even want to do a ISA-IRC-WSC rule replay to gain 1 point. When I don't like the track I stop racing it, that's all.
