I don't know if you ever heard of this, but I discovered it today.
Name is BATRacer (http://batracer.com/-1FrontPage.htm?Jlr).
Goal is (once logged in) to play as a driver in one championship : F1 2007, F1 1986, A1GP, ChampCar, BTCC, ...
You set up your car, choose race strategy, then game engine do the race. This a sort of F1 (or other categories) manager.
I registered today and joined a BTCC championship in production category. You can still join it as there's not the full number of players at the moment I write this message.
You don't have to stay online, game starts automatically when number of pipsqueaks is complete.
Usually, once started it seems 1 championship lasts 1 race per day.
If you don't log in for 3 consecutive days, you can be fired of the championship though. Join a game when you're sure to ba able to spent around 15 minutes per day to it (car setup, tests, qualifications, ...).
So, nobody interested ? ::)
For info, after 6 days you are allowed to join a 2nd game as a "mid-season" replacement.
I joined a F1 championship (2007 style) today on a Renault car, only 1 race has been made so it will be almost a complete season. :)
I got a podium on my 1st race at BTCC, but finished only 8th at the second : the rain appeared in the middle of the race and my setup was therefore incorrect, and I adjusted bad the "change tyres when on wrong type", so I stayed on the track with slick tyres for 5 laps before changing my tyres. This is where I lost a promising 2nd podium in a row... :-\
I'm playing! On touring I finished 11th and 5th so far. First race I made a mistake in my 2nd qualy lap... :-\
Cool, we should try to race together the same game some day. what is your sIf you raced 2 races already, then you should soon be available to join a mid-season game.
Then, try to join the game 24482 (game/join mid-season/enter game id) if there are available places : this is the mid-season F1 game I joined after the 1st race was done. We could race the same championship this way. :)
The partner I have in my mid-season F1 2007 game is just crappy and stupid.
Hopefully, I have better partners on my BTCC regular champ and my ChampCar private game.
I'm enjoying more the ChampCar so far, races are more strategic due to often safety cars and high number of laps (especially on oval races). I got my 1st victory in this ChampCar game and I'm leading the championship after 6 races.
BTCC game is with much less interest : short races, only 5 parameters to find so everybody has a perfect setup, sprint races results are conditionned by the qualifications as there's no pitstop.
F1 2007 game could be interesting, but with such a partner it makes me mad and I play it just to finish it.
Next games I'd like to test F1 2008 with the new qualification system, and also I'd like to reach pro level soon in order to try A1GP championship (same cars, 1 pipsqueak per team, only your strategy makes the difference : challenging for sure).
What about you Chulk ? How are going your championships ?
And does anybody else tested this web game ?

I have a F1 1986 (no-refueling, long and hard races for the pilots and the engines) private game planned with my clan and we miss a pilot, we could team up together then. I'll give you infos in BATRacer PM when I'll have, private game is not yet started. ;)
Ayrton also has joined BATRacer and wanted to race with me but he joined his game just before I came back from holidays and when I came back he already had another teammate.
We'll try next month to be all together in the same game. We can even be all in the same team in ChampCar as there is up to 3 pilots per team. ;-)

We will be the Zakspeed team (logical ;)), I already created the team. I selected Monaco as home race, please select another home race.
Remember that home race gives extra laps for practice and warm-up, and beeing well qualified is important in Monaco or Hungaroring for example. So I choosed Monaco to hope to get a better setup than others and be better qualified.
All teams won't be used and we deliberately excluded fastest teams of this period (Bennetton, Williams, Lotus, Ferrari, McLaren, Ligier) in order to keep the private game more balanced.
One last thing : races are with no refueling so harder races for pilots due to high weight at the start. Engines are not very reliable. Concentration, consitent, mechanical sympathy or super fit characteristics seems suitable according to this carset specificities. Of course, charisma is also suitable for setup (better than thinker as it helps too in pitstops).
I choosed super fit and consistent, maybe you should try others like charisma and concentration (or mechanical sympathy). Speed demon and pole sitter king don't seem suitable for this carset compared to F1 2007 or 2008. But it's your choice. I wait for you and will start the setup work.
Don't forget too to use the specific qualifications tyres for qualif runs. ;)

I've seen that. Last driver to join really kicked ass so far. Let's see how it works. By the way, which is your method for testing? Mine is:
If Ing Advice says High values (High, Hard or Stiff ARB's), I put the test values in 80, considering high goes from 60-100.
If Ing Advice says Medium, I put the test values in 50, considering medium goes from 40-60
If Ing Advice says Low values (Low, Soft or Loose ARB's), test values go in 20, considering low goes 0-40.
After every updated value, I take 8 points steps. That way, with about 5 updates of a value, you have a very close value to a Spot On.
Only exceptionis B-Bias, where values are 34;48;62 and I take 4 points steps. I tell you this because it will help you have better estimations when loading my car before doing your runs. If you load my values and have the info about testing, it will be easier.

You just have to finish setup adjustement during warm-up and we should have then an all spot-on setup for the race. :)
In spite of that, I was about to get pro level and I lost a promised victory in my mid-season F1 2008 game (the only thing I still miss to be promoted to pro level is 1 more victory) AT THE LAST LAP !!! >:( A pace car entered a few laps before my 2nd planned pitstop and I reacted by pitting during it, but pace car stayed too few laps to compensate the anticipated pitstop so in the end of the race my tyres were very used, allowing my teammate to come back on me and bypassing me at the very last lap ! Damn it !
What do you need to be a Pro? I have 6 or 7 poles, 7 or 8 podiums, 1 win (in Monaco yesterday with Williams F1 2008 ;) ) and 1 fastest lap.
You need 2 wins, 1 pole, 1 fastest lap and 6 podiums. I'm also far above these requirements, except for the wins : only 1 so far. Private game victories don't count (or else I would be pro already).
We both only need a victory to get pro. ;)
OK, thanks. You're about to get Pro are you're not even ranked! That's good!
To get ranked you need to finish 35 races, which means at least 2 seasons of games, that is around 2 months. But reaching pro level could be done way faster : 1 good season can be sufficient theorically.
When I'll be pro, I will finally be able to race V8 supercars carset for my next game. :)
One advice for CTG, in case he would like to play BATRacer : IP are checked, and double accounts are closed without warning. No ghosts in BATRacer (except if you have a not fixed IP and never forget to change your IP between 2 logins ;)).

My F1 2008 public season number is 26756, I'm in ferrari team but got some bad luck quite often since the start of the season and I'm only 7th for the moment after 7 races (I hope I won't be 18th at the 18th race ! :D).
One of the 2 McLaren pipsqueaks is obvisouly not logged since at least 2 days, maybe his seat will be in mid-season available seats soon. His name is Richard turner. But be fast as McLaren seats are quickly chosen (not like Super Aguri ones ;D).
It ends after midnight and I won't be logging in too early in the morning (I still can sleep late on Saturdays)
Chulk and I are pro but Ayrton is still "academy' beginner at BATRacer. ;D

Good, but not complete.
I use an Excel/OOCalc file to convert setups.
One info : I joined a V8 Supercars mid-season and it seems best characteristic to choose is thinker or charisma (only 1 to choose in this carset) as setup feedback is VERY low. My character has pole sitter king chatracteristic which much less efficient than in F1 carset as there is qualifications only 1st race of 3. Each track has 3 races : 2nd one starts with arrival order of 1st race inversed, and 3rd one starts with average arrival order of first 2 races to create the starting grid.
It works really good! Even if not every carset is there, many can be used. For example, F1 1986 can be changed with F1 2007 or F1 2008 without much difficulty.
Coooool ! My ranking increased by more than 700 places with the results of my 2nd public season : I was 1880th, I'm now 1108th. ;D
this is due to my good results there, and that I was given the championship bonus. I finished 2nd in the end behind my teammate, but he had the instructor status, so I got the championship victory in my stats. :D

3 guys that planned to join finally said they can't because they'll be away from computer during the game period.
And it seems that we need to be 16 to start an A1GP private game, dunno why... So far we're not 16 so we're waiting. I asked a few times already in webring F1 forum about it. I'll keep you informed when I'll have more news. ;)

I finally entered top 10 French pipsqueaks, which is quite hard to do. But it can change back tomorrow : the previous 10th best French was just a few points before me yesterday, and he can be back at the 10th place tomorrow according to today's results. I won a race yesterday, this is what probably made me catch this place. We'll see.
Anyway, with my current world ranking I would be 2nd best Argentinian pipsqueak. :D
edit : is "Ayrton2008 Ayrton2008" player a 2nd profile of the Ayrton we now ? Beware : 2 (or more) profiles per player is forbidden, except if you buy "kool tools" for all of your profiles. I saw a few guys with their accounts blocked when they wanted to create 2 free users profiles.

Getting Kool tools and starting 4 championships instead of 1 at a time made my ranking decrease a lot (500 points => 390 points). Obviously the system calculates with number of championship wons compared to total championships started, and it also count % of finished races and number of poles, victories, podium, ...
Anyway, I started to get more points with my results (pole, podiums and victories) and I'm back in top 10 active French pipsqueaks for the moment. But real rank will be shown at the end of my championships. If I win 1 or 2 of them (so far I lead 2 of them (1 of them with good gap, the other is very sharp leading), I'm 5th on another one and 8th on last one) I'll climb again in the ranking. ;D
Also, I started to get some overall records (see attached image). What are yours Chulk and Ayrton ?

I won a ChampCar championship while having only 1 victory on it, but I had 7 2nd places, 4 poles and 3 best laps for only 2 retirements. :)

Updated stats and records. All records don't fit into 1 screen now, I had to to 2 images.
I lost all my F1 records but I almost don't play F1 carset, there's not enough strategy on them, except F1 2005 with tyre specificity.
I think F1 86 has some tactics as well, as fuel is not needed, you could use your tyres a lot and pit 2 times or have its usage at 0 and try not to stop on softs... Anyway, I prefer A1GP o any other carset (that I tried, of course). I'm now trying F199. Cars are quite similar in speed and the main difference is its mech duration. BAR breakes almost every race if you force it too much...
I reached the 1000 points barrier this morning. Next steps, top 500 drivers, and then 1500 points. ;D
But it's becoming harder and harder to get points. The better ranked you are, the lower each victory is worth in points.
And now, the overall 20000 points limits is achieved, and top 500 global rank too since a few days.
BAT score points close to 1200. Top 100 drivers are all above 2100 points in BAT score.
Along you progress and get points and rank, each performance gives less points. Only 100 BAT score points (the one in red) for my 4th championship victory (in V8 Supercars) while I got 600 for my 1st one. It will be hard to enter top 100, but I'm sure I can. ;)
You're doing great Krys! I started another A1GP (still the best after trying Champcar and batseven as mid-season). Waited almost 2 months for an A1GP for here. After the first 2 meetings (4 races) I'm leadinng by one point and have a 2nd place on the starting grid for the next sprint.
A1 is a good carset, but difficult.
My favorite carset remains LMES, where race strategy is the most important.
I'm testing the new indycar carset, I'm 2nd of the championship after 3 races although I got a retirement (an aggressive guy colliding on me :() at 1st race, my teammate is 1st (no retirement). :)
Finished 2nd on the sprint mentioned before and now I have 5 points of advantage.

Of course, now that F1 2005 carset is beeing more played, almost all my top 10 records there are now ranked lower.
Long time without update there.
Scoring system for world ranking has been changed a few and points are not limited to 2500 now.
Regarding ranking, I'm now around 300th place, but I should go up to around 250th rank soon as I'm already champion of an indycar game before the season is finished. In 2 days the season will be over and I'll get my new ranking. 8)
I had some frustrating games last months, with 6 championships lost for a few points. As only champion is rewarded in world ranking, beeing 2nd of the championship is the same as beeing last. Too bad, I ended 3 times 3rd and 3 times 2nd recently...
Regarding my other curent games, I'm in battle for the title in 2 of them (last one I'm doing really crappy) so maybe some more big points in world ranking will come in case I win these 2 games. ;D
